i love how everyone here are such fuckin experts in martial arts. you know just because you play tekken day and night doesnt make you an pracitioner, let alone an expert
I've actually done this in a real fight. The kid was about my size, and he came to the ground because it landed in his stomach. really easy to pull off I tell you. They will never see it coming. And it's damn efficient. I pulled this off with only 1 hr of my dad teaching me some moves.
haha i love human weapon but they always over exagerate how powerful the technique is, something like "if this punch is done right its like being shot in the face with a shotgun", haha i love it tho :'D!
I know the oficer who demonstrates this technic - he was a champion of Russia (many years)and Armed forces. Now hi is a coach of champion of the world WKA
@ARandomCanadian its legal, its just that there are few martial "artists" in MMA right now, there mostly just wrestlers in and brawlers, just wait, soon there will be a large number of fighters that will pick up on kicks and techniques like this once they figure out its effective. just look up cung le
if you want be real all kicks have weak point any time your on one leg thats not good that goes for neeing people dude you need look at wing chun its real deal
Whilst the basic sidekick is a very good technique - its also got one glaring weakness. It leaves you wide open.
This is why you don't really see it used very often in things like K1 or the various different MMA promotions. The allow attacking your opponent from behind and kicks to the leg as well as take downs. All of which this kick leaves you vulnerable to. Hence why one of the simplest and most effective kicks doesn't really get used all that often.
so not true side kick is very good kick its like any othere kick iit dont leave you wide open i see side kicks in the mma dont even go there i seen guy throw back spin kicks in the mma why you want try make mma out like its the god of all systems for
I'm not saying its never used in MMA - I'm saying it's RARELY used in MMA because of it's weaknesses. And it leaves you wide open on your rear side.
It's not as simple as saying that "its like every other kick" because that's just one step away from saying that no martial art is more effective than any other. Its just not true, some kicks, just liek some overall fighting systems have huge glaring weakness that are usually in place because of a set rule system or training system.
look cant say side kick weak one guy might be good with side kick and be strong and another thing all system and arts are all= its up to the person to make it great what works for you might not work for me
Yes I CAN say EXACTLY that. It has a huge weakeness. No matter WHO you are or how good a fighter you are those weaknesses are STILL THERE.
The exact same thing applies to martial arts. Most of the guys who make shitty systems like TKD and Shotokan and kung fu etc work usually do it by completely modifying the system till it barely resembles the original martial art. And when it comes to striking arts they inevitably start to loook more and more like muay thai as they try to be effective
say what you like there are deffrent side kicks. ever look up hung fa yi wing chun should look in to that system its hard my sifu gets people in cage and fights so take look look up benny meng
@ephasm To be honest you don't even see Muay Thai counters, blocks etc in MMA, just roundhouse, knee, elbow, clinch. MMA isn't really martial arts as much as it is just conditioning, striking, checking, and grappling. You don't see much trapping, sweeps, etc. And are you talking about work for MMA or work for fighting? The way they land jabs easily on each other in MMA, get hit in the groin every time someone accidentally kicks near it, etc. What about eye gouge, groin kick, windpipe, bite etc?
@odin23581 if you can eye gouge, groin kick etc. then what makes you think an MMA fighter wouldn't do it as well? Just because an MMA guy trains for the ring doesn't mean he doesn't know the difference when he's not in the ring. And those guys can land those jabs so easily on each other because frankly, they train their boxing better than most other fighters with the obvious exclusion of boxers themselves. You don't have a clue WHAT makes a martial art.
@odin23581 oh and you don't see trapping sweeps etc. because THAT SHIT DONT WORK. And you obviously dont know what thai boxing is either or you'd easily see the striking at work. What do you think a thai boxing match consists of?
This is a highly effective and versatile kick in any art or style. Men and women alike can deliver a solid side kick. You can take out knees, ribs, stop their advance by kick at the leg or torso. You can do a quick snap or a hard thrust...it's great.
As tkd guy i as used to use this technique on those karate & silat guys. Executed correctly, it will prove quite a handful and very effective even. they hated me for that haha
@kitsuneboy1 lol, i kicked someone like this at sparring in gymnastics, teacher mad... kid was 15 and almost crying... gonna try that one on a burglar one day!
i would love take real sambo. even sport sambo is kinda rare but combat sambo is like nowhere to be found

@S1L4sLucas Ya I knew who Cung Le was, kicks are tiring though, thats why in his rematch he was more conservative with his kicks.

anyone that thinks that this kick is exlusive to sambo is an idiot

Umm...isn't this just a side kick? Hardly unique to Sambo or TKD.
