I've always been a big fan of Steve. Compared to a lot of hard rock drummers he was a great artist. He didn't make stuff fancy if the song didn't need to be, but he was creative at the right places. Anyone else would have ruined Paradise City, he made it on of the most recognisable songs just by the drumbeat itself. I'm hoping he gets his due along with Izzy at the R&RHOF in April.

Steven Adler really does have IT. He is the BEST! Whenever I need a GNR fix, I just go watch a few of the 1988 Live at the Ritz GNR videos. That was GNR. It got bigger and more complicated than that, but it never got better. In fact, I would say that if you were fortunate enough to be there that night, you witnessed the greatest band giving their greatest performance of all time.

I will agree with you in saying this, its amazing the guy is still able to form a complete sentence, much less play a nearly 7 minute song by ear.

He does not need to prove anything. He already has. He was the drummer on probably THE biggest selling and known rock album, Appetite For Destruction. I think he has proven he can play. He's having fun here and relating to the crowd while he plays. He's not worried about sounding textbook perfect. From all the videos I've seen and after reading his book, Steven is a hell of a nice guy that loves what he does. Hope he stays clean.

I just got to meet him today. I haven't met such and amazing man in a long while. He was kind, friendly, and an amazing drummer. Everyone that is dissing on him, needs to calm down, you obviously know nothing.

Any, and yes ANY intermediate drummer can do this with on arm, however this guy gets tons of support for a 5-minute long groove with occasional accents, and no. Keeping time is not hard. Yes, he's very consistent...MOST ARE!! that's why the drummer is called the backbone of the band, or when people ask you "can you keep a beat?" the drummer is the time keeper.

it's really dissapointing that a fellow drummer would write such a disprectfull message about steven adler. it's not all about precision. i personally would rather enjoy an imperfect 3 minute feel good rock song than sit through ten minutes of jazz drumming but i have the same respect for both.

Thats right im a pro Drummer & when i try to play along pre recoreded song its not very easy to keep the exact timing.I think Steve is doing very well here.I dont care what wankers say about him.Im a drummer & i can hear that he still has the Popcorn beat in him.Lucky he didnt die.I just got both of his Tatts done on me, one on each shoulder.Thats how much i believe in him.
I know if he keeps up with the GNR thing it will happen.
Popcorn will be the one to kick it off.

@lucasathus Well i'm a drummer, but i play guitar too, do you know steve vai? yeah, the best guitarrist in the world, his musics are pretty simple, i can play them really easily, but, i say man, no one in the world has the same talent to write the solos he wrote, its flow perfect, same thing on gnr, steven made an awesome job, he isnt the best in skills and everthing, but he wrote amazing drum tracks for the gnr and we have to respect him!
