  • Maravilhoso!

  • Thank you i have searched all water music hornpipe's and this is the first that is the correct way the others are all Finale. That is the 4th movement this is the third thank you for posting this video!!!

  • 1 person cant HANDEL this.

  • Finally someone has posted the piece actually called "Hornpipe" under its right name; people posting the "Alla Hornpipe" under the name "Hornpipe" make it so hard to find this one.

I love the oboe/bassoon part starting 00:53. Is the orchestration 2 oboes + one bassoon? Simple and quite wonderful, anyway.

  • Thanks, mate. This is part of Handel I don't really know, and I'm playing it in three days. The playing is good, and the interpretation gives me an idea of how to approach it.

    Cheers

  • Hatta er hópin góður tónleikur

  • Handel REALLY know to handle his hornpipe =D

  • Handel, best baroque composer.

  • This is clearly a masterpiece even without the hornpipe.

  • I like this "hornpipe in suite #1" much more than "alla hornpipe in suite #2"

but "alla" is more famous than this F major hornpipe, uhm---

  • This is Suite 1 in F major, no. 8 - Hornpipe if I am correct. I am right, right?

  • @julienlego Not really; if you just called this "Suite no. 1", people would not understand you meant this ("Water Music Suite No. 1 in F major, HWV 348"). And it seems quite odd to me to address this, the 8th movement, "no. 8 - Hornpipe". Looks like you copied that whole title from a poorly written back of a CD.

  • @moltoallegro19 I never liked notations such as "HWV 348" to identify pieces of music. Also, addressing it as the 8th movement just confuses me, since I'm no good at remembering pieces in that sense. Addressing the piece as "No. 1 - Hornpipe" is easier to remember for me.

  • Good job man. Music for the Royal

  • What is the real name of this song?

  • i think its funny how there is no water in the picture

  • @Ono42012 the music IS the water.

  • Thank you for sharing this wonderful piece!

  • This music songs like music denoting royality to me. Where I live in the Caribbean (Trinidad) no one bothers with this type of music again, how sad for them, they can never have a musical taste of heaven on earth.

  • yeah it sounds royal for me too, but we love this kind of music here in Spain

  • @dydaskalos I do so agree with your remark about the Caribbean's general lack of interest in classical music. As your neighbour in Barbados, my experience over the 15 years I have lived here has been that concerts and performances of this music are sparse and I thank goodness for YouTube where I can escape at will and listen to some of the most wonderful recordings ever made

  • It's good to know that there are still people who know music. The truth was too long for the other is called alla hornpipe and the suite in D major that ignorance on youtube, thanks to God who knows rose this music video. I love this Hornpipe (the other of the suite in f is called alla hornpipe)

    So good bye

  • @dvflute In response to your message with regard to the Hornpipe, Handels Water Music, I would agree to a point about some of the dreadful ignorant things which people post on YouTube, but I do not mean ignorance ABOUT music. If those who know little about music come to hear and then ask questions, that has to be a really good thing and we should never castigate them for their lack of knowledge, for otherwise how do any of us learn about good music and to appreciate it.

  • @20callenderslady I mean there's youtube music of water is regarded as the suite in D and not in F, people have a right to ask the things they want but those who climb the videos are not as fools or ignorant.

    Greetings.

  • A truly joyous, celebratory piece, I too salute you.

  • Wow amazing. I love it.

  • One of my favorites

  • Hermoso!!

  • Absolutely wonderful!

  • There's a lute or a tiorba?

    Absolutely genial!!!

  • love it.........................

  • What baffles me about that spam comment above is that people actually take the time to go onto a video they hate and send a comment - why do it? If you don't like something then just don't listen to it. Its just a waste of time.

Handel is amongst some of the greatest musicians who ever lived.

  • My 10,000th video, celebrated with this masterpiece!

  • Bravo

  • Excellent, one of my favorites!!

  • this isn't the hornpipe

  • It is. Maybe you mean the 'alla hornpipe'?

  • @PhiloTheSceptic Cheesecunningham is right. This isn't the hornpipe. -.-

  • @ItsEryk It is... :) Do you have a link for the video that you think is the hornpipe?

  • @PhiloTheSceptic No, but I was learning this song in school.

  • @PhiloTheSceptic ??? i played this piece... and as far as i know, it is "hornpipe"

  • @cheesecunningham You're thinking of "Alla Hornpipe" from the second Water Music suite. This is "Hornpipe" from the first suite.

  • nice.

  • really nice

  • Nobody cares who you are. An appreciation of the music is all that is required.

    Bah! Elitist Youtube users.

  • That was great. I really enjoyed it.

  • This masterpiece doesn´t need any pictures. I believe that this is one of the many pieces that needs to be listened to with closed eyes,

so that you really feel the music.

  • nice, but it could be better with more sliding picures of the beautiful landscape
