Actually, it's Chris Cerf who's the voice of the Letter L and the genius composer of this song. To me, his singing voice is a lot like an American version of Rod Stewart and Roger Taylor from Queen. That is to say, it's GREAT.

I would be the first person on line to buy a Sesame Street version of Guitar Hero/Rock Band. Great idea!

Sesame Workshop would probably never license these classic 70s and 80s songs, however. They'd probably be more likely to release the Abby Cadabby/Elmo version so we could "rock out" to songs like "Elmo's World" and "I Love Words". Yeesh.

Well one thing that happened was Jim Henso died in 1990, and Richard Hunt in 1992.

That and of course perhaps they decided to make the show just a little more educational.

Still... I'm with you... I liked Sesame Street the way it used to be... when Episodes had an ADVENTURE in the street scenes, and you'd have to GUESS what sketches would be coming.

This was the golden era for this show...you can see them really going all out for everything, it's like they had absolutely nothing to lose, and it still works today because of the risks they took and the ambition in the putting these things together.
