Thanks bro this helped tons Imma gnna suscribe to you but next i watch a video to practice guitar imma make sure i dnt hav any cuts on fingers....it really hurts when the 1st string gets in ur cut >-<
At 6:45 you play 2 riffs, i have to ask what songs are they? They both jump out at me like I have heard them before, but I cant figure it out? Ive been practicing both of them, I was just wondering what they were from. Thanks again
This is probebly some of the best instructional videos ive found yet on youtube. Also it help that this guy is left handed, so it easyer to duplicate wile watching, mirror image i guess. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!(: i REALLY wanna learn how to play my beautiful guitar and your really helping me! i didnt even know any chords lol so you've been a big help!(:
Keep up the good work. I am a beginner and I got a decent amount of info. Only suggestion is to do something about hearing what you are saying a little better please. Every chord you said sounded like 'E'. THANK YOU!
I'm just starting to learn to play the guitar and as soon as I put my fingers on strings they hurt like hell! I've got a very loooong way ahead of me...
When you first start learning your mind doesn't know how the process the information on how to do what you are trying to do. Think of it as your mind as computer OS on release, It will be very slow at first but after a while your mind updates its self on how to interpret this new information you are feeding it and It will become more experienced and clearer on what it means.
At the moment I still find it impossable to play bar cords on the acoustic but makes it so much easyer going back the electric guitar and playing them on there. Theres also a question I would like to ask... I play the A and G cords using my 234 fingers as I find this more comfortable but does that effect the speed I can switch between cords? I have small hands (probably about the size of a 12 year old lol). which has its pros and cons lol.
when I first started playing i didn't really find tutorial videos very helpful but now I have had 5 months experience they seem alot simpler from when I was first starting out. My advice would be to learn 3 or 4 cords and practice switching between them and try play them as clearly as possable. Also learning on acoustic is also good for your finger strengh and makes the electric strings feel so much lighter when going back to it. I just got one given and I feel like I can do anything going back.
one thing it would like too add to the comment board... the state of mind your in during learning really effects the speed at which you learn. Eg Thinking and believing you can't do it. Humans are extremely good at producing automatic functions to do repeated stuff. Eg like playing games or driving a car you don't think about it after you have gone through the pain of learning how to use or do it. my point being is that once you learn how to play its just like riding a bike from thereon out.
why in the world would a left handed guitarist put a video out like this? especially a beginner lesson like this one. only a very small fraction of beginners will benefit. to those I say "enjoy and good luck." to the guy in the vid I would say: title you lesson appropriately so the vast majority of us won't waste or time clicking here.

Hey, i'm very new to guitar, literally just got my guitar the other day. I'm finding these Vids very helpful, but i've got a question for you - how hard do you press the strings, because wen i try it doesn't sound right (sounds kinda flat)?
If you feel your getting a flat clunking sound, press down harder.
It could even just be a learning thing, could just take time, give it afew week and if your still getting this sound, try pressing hard or lighter. Then if it's still making the sound, it's the guitar/amp.
Hey, I was just wondering where I could find the pictures with the fingers numbered for each chord like these ones? I googled them, but I couldn't find these. Thanks! (:
omg well i just decided about 2 mins ago that i wanted to play acoustic so i dug out this old guitar from the attic, i thought i tuned it pritty well (just assuming) & while i was playing one of my strings just exploded & my tuner knob thing just fell off!! i'm really getting off to a GREAT start!! (not) lol help me
hey john, i have a comment . i m 48 yrs old never played anything before so know nothing at all. video is great but do you have any that shows not only the chords but the strums as well? thanks alot very much appreciate it.
hey guys wanna learn? watch me as im learning and see if we can progess at the same time, share tips advice best songs for begginers ect.. ps nice vid :)
I'm finding it very hard to only strum 5 strings. for eg. in the A chord you only strum the bottom 5 strings, i'm finding this pretty hard to do without slowing right down... and i cant do only the bottom five when i'm doing an up stroke cus i catch the top string.... :(
i was in a guitar class and the teacher really sucked...i did learn some though, this is helping me learn how to play better. iv always wanted to learn the guitar!

I'm a beginner of guitar and i just can't seem to keep my fingers from hitting other strings while i play chords and such. It really annoys me because it happens a lot. And when i put my fingers near the top of the fret i get a kinda metallic noise from the stroing not coming inot full contact with the neck. Can you give me any advice on what i should do?
can someone help me my friends have short and fat fingers but i got long and thin fingers how cant i press the chords its just so hard my fingers are slipping or it will realease bad sounds and my friends can do it there even making there own song why i cant pls some1 tell me the tricks or some what

hi , have already wrote that you`re best teacher ever, it`s rly is like that , tx to you , but i still got one question and it`s sounds like you`re using all strings while holding 3 , i mean with your right hand (for standart right handers)
I'm starting to play guitar now :D ,, my tips of my finger is like bleeding to death hahahhahaha EE GG CC DD GG AA :P ,,,, after I master this one then next is the do re mi thing :P hehehe
from 7:00 and beyond i think it would help a lot if you were adding Subs like the letters on the screen because i could barely hear the cords that you were naming. just thinking it would help!
I have a quick question. When playing power chords, you have sharp and flat notes, like G flat for example. Is there a way to play that chord not in the barre chord shape but in an open way? So as to be more jangly and not so deep? Thanks for any help.
Good video chong, lol. If you're new to guitar and your fingers are hurting, try Rock-Tips liquid callus formula. It's like putting a clear helmet on your fingertips.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I've been through every video and yours was the best because it showed us the chord on "paper" then you showed it to us with your hands and played it. Thank you!! I want to learn how to play so bad and you really helped. Keep it up! :)
Thank you! This was very helpful.. Today is my first day picking up the guitar.. your instruction is very clear and easy to understand.. I can't wait to learn more:o)

MisUnrefined 7 months ago
@MisUnrefined you dont have to mash your fingers into the neck just press the string with enough pressure
to make contact with the fret.Another issue may be the string height from the neck AKA the action
show your guitar to a player or music store and see what they think adjustments can be made by
a professional guitar repairman AKA Luthier Keep on playing :) JH and thanks for Watching

hi , have already wrote that you`re best teacher ever, it`s rly is like that , tx to you , but i still got one question and it`s sounds like you`re using all strings while holding 3 , i mean with your right hand (for standart right handers)

from 7:00 and beyond i think it would help a lot if you were adding Subs like the letters on the screen because i could barely hear the cords that you were naming. just thinking it would help!

when your playnig basic chords like G,C,D,E things like that do you strum all chords
JessicaMillersMusic 1 year ago
generally you want to start at the root note that is to say if you are playing a G chord start with
the low G note but it really depends on what the song structure requires

I have a quick question. When playing power chords, you have sharp and flat notes, like G flat for example. Is there a way to play that chord not in the barre chord shape but in an open way? So as to be more jangly and not so deep? Thanks for any help.

@cardigansarecool a G pwr chrd has the 1st and
5th note of the g scale g&d so try playing
your open g & d string ala rolling stones Honky Tonk Woman the noes will be inverted but it is still a G power Chord

@easthamptonmusic
thank you very much. Is there a place where I can see the finger placements for flat and sharp chords like the one you mentioned?

Good video chong, lol. If you're new to guitar and your fingers are hurting, try Rock-Tips liquid callus formula. It's like putting a clear helmet on your fingertips.

Hi, me again, how do you switch from chord to chord without stopping the first chord?
Quarrelt 1 year ago
THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I've been through every video and yours was the best because it showed us the chord on "paper" then you showed it to us with your hands and played it. Thank you!! I want to learn how to play so bad and you really helped. Keep it up! :)
