  • At 6:45 you play 2 riffs, i have to ask what songs are they? They both jump out at me like I have heard them before, but I cant figure it out? Ive been practicing both of them, I was just wondering what they were from. Thanks again

  • This is probebly some of the best instructional videos ive found yet on youtube. Also it help that this guy is left handed, so it easyer to duplicate wile watching, mirror image i guess. Keep up the good work!

  • It would be helpful if you labeled the videos a bit better. Meaning in the title you should post the cords you are teaching.

  • I'm just starting to learn to play the guitar and as soon as I put my fingers on strings they hurt like hell! I've got a very loooong way ahead of me...

  • @MisUnrefined you dont have to mash your fingers into the neck just press the string with enough pressure

to make contact with the fret.Another issue may be the string height from the neck AKA the action

show your guitar to a player or music store and see what they think adjustments can be made by

a professional guitar repairman AKA Luthier Keep on playing :) JH and thanks for Watching

  • really nice ... i need the next leason... i am looking forward to it... thanks

  • 1:07 that's what she said...

  • @xXTheMooDogXx wise guy ; )

  • Damn, you had to be left handed didnt you

  • That's a really nice harmony in the back. H77?

  • @Tbone2309 the blond one is a vantage the red one is a '68 es 330 gibsob

  • When you first start learning your mind doesn't know how the process the information on how to do what you are trying to do. Think of it as your mind as computer OS on release, It will be very slow at first but after a while your mind updates its self on how to interpret this new information you are feeding it and It will become more experienced and clearer on what it means.

  • At the moment I still find it impossable to play bar cords on the acoustic but makes it so much easyer going back the electric guitar and playing them on there. Theres also a question I would like to ask... I play the A and G cords using my 234 fingers as I find this more comfortable but does that effect the speed I can switch between cords? I have small hands (probably about the size of a 12 year old lol). which has its pros and cons lol.

  • when I first started playing i didn't really find tutorial videos very helpful but now I have had 5 months experience they seem alot simpler from when I was first starting out. My advice would be to learn 3 or 4 cords and practice switching between them and try play them as clearly as possable. Also learning on acoustic is also good for your finger strengh and makes the electric strings feel so much lighter when going back to it. I just got one given and I feel like I can do anything going back.

  • @micheals1992 Every guitar Plays different its all in the neck(action string height from the frets)

  • one thing it would like too add to the comment board... the state of mind your in during learning really effects the speed at which you learn. Eg Thinking and believing you can't do it. Humans are extremely good at producing automatic functions to do repeated stuff. Eg like playing games or driving a car you don't think about it after you have gone through the pain of learning how to use or do it. my point being is that once you learn how to play its just like riding a bike from thereon out.

  • amazing explanation, thanks

  • subscribing

  • If it sounds like a minor chord does that mean my guitar is really outta tune? I just spent almost 30 minutes tuning it :/

My guitar has three nylon and three metal strings though... Can that be a problem? It's how it came when it was bought.

  • @LaNinjette I messaged you

  • Hey, i'm very new to guitar, literally just got my guitar the other day. I'm finding these Vids very helpful, but i've got a question for you - how hard do you press the strings, because wen i try it doesn't sound right (sounds kinda flat)?

  • @SarahRAWWR15

    I play (:

If you feel your getting a flat clunking sound, press down harder.

It could even just be a learning thing, could just take time, give it afew week and if your still getting this sound, try pressing hard or lighter. Then if it's still making the sound, it's the guitar/amp.

  • @DimebagAndrew Thanks, i'll give it a try :D

  • Hey, I was just wondering where I could find the pictures with the fingers numbered for each chord like these ones? I googled them, but I couldn't find these. Thanks! (:

  • I'm a guitar beginner i'm curious about anything i learn or try to learn and when i play a chord( starting to practice A,D,E,and Em) when i try to practice each one it sounds good to me and i've been watching alot of videos in guitar websites to youtube and to me it sounds clear and nice but, not all the time... Should i just trust my gut??PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!… i play an electric guitar)

  • @tapeduck21 trust you ear and try downloading the google chord finder

JH If the strings are sounding muted your fingers are either blocking the strings or too far away from

the frets or on top of the frets play on your fingertips and try not to bend the strings when making chords

Make sure your guitar is in tune

    JH Hope this helps

  • @easthamptonmusic Thank you so much a need that little boost!!!!

  • @tapeduck21 make sure you have you guitar tuned correctly, if you struggle with tuning or you live in a very hot area or something you can buy a tuner if your guitar didnt come with one. also make sure your fingers are as close as possible to the frets. make sure you're not muting any strings. hope i helped!

  • I have a quick question. When playing power chords, you have sharp and flat notes, like G flat for example. Is there a way to play that chord not in the barre chord shape but in an open way? So as to be more jangly and not so deep? Thanks for any help.

  • @cardigansarecool a G pwr chrd has the 1st and

  • @easthamptonmusic

thank you very much. Is there a place where I can see the finger placements for flat and sharp chords like the one you mentioned?

  • Good video chong, lol. If you're new to guitar and your fingers are hurting, try Rock-Tips liquid callus formula. It's like putting a clear helmet on your fingertips.

  • Hi, me again, how do you switch from chord to chord without stopping the first chord?

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I've been through every video and yours was the best because it showed us the chord on "paper" then you showed it to us with your hands and played it. Thank you!! I want to learn how to play so bad and you really helped. Keep it up! :)
