Once they fulfilled the girls revenge the curse was lifted and they were able to leave the town but they still didn't know they were dead, so their souls must be trapped in limbo now.

This song kinda makes me sad cause it reminds me of when I was a little kid but it also makes me happy because I really loved to play silent hill 1,2,and 3

All the songs they could of used from Robb Zombie to Marilyn Manson to Evenescence to oh, I don't know ZOMBIE GIRL??? And they use this upbeat crap. Not that it's a bad song, just the WRONG ONE
@noname000009ify Well, since you obviously don't know anything of Silent Hill, this is one of their "staple" songs used in Silent Hill 3. Silent Hill 3 is when and where the film took place. It's only right they use this song. I think it went damn well! And, i don't hear a trace of "upbeat crap" in the song. Listen to the lyrics, and you will hear that.
yuck if they played those types of songs at the credits it would've been ruined. i only sat through them because this song fit perfectly and Manson or Evanescence would've ruined it indefinitely.

Just wanted to share this story.. for an assignment I wrote a script for a movie about a father who loses his daughter and travels to find her, I came up with the name Alesia for the young girl, when I presented it to my class the assistant found it very similar to silent hill (it wasn't, I love silent hill and I didn't put no shadow realm or psycological terror in it) I defended my project but a week later I saw the silent hill movie again and realised the girl was named ALESSA.. lol
One thing I wish they had done differently was to give Pyramid Head a bigger role. I know they wanted to put him in there to please the fans since he's a big favorite in the Silent Hill crowd (I for one would have been very upset if he hadn't been included :D). But despite this, I still liked his part in the movie, especially the scene where he attacks Rose and Cybil with the Great Knife. O and BTW Akira Yamoaka is a freaking genius and Mary Elizabeth Mcglynn has an amazing Voice! Love that duo!
I agree with you morbentfel, i always thought that was how it felt too! Its very unique and well done. Silent Hill is one of my favorite video game series ever. And yes, i admit, i was a little disappointed with the fact that the movie wasn't a closer adaptation of the first game. But I still loved it and I wish people would stop debating about it. The special effects were awesome and so was the scenery and I did enjoy that it was its own new story. It just borrowed pieces from all the games.
The ending credit always leave me feeling melancholy. I love this movie no matter how much it scares the crap out of me, its twists had me confused for months. But now knowing what has really happened and combined effects of the music and the jist of ending...I'm so chilled out yet so depressed. If that makes any sense... :x
i really love how the credits is another experience of its own. you can totally imagine the unknown protagonist (in first person view) going through the town (confronting their own personal nightmares?) and trying to make sense of the pieces of memories left behind

the second movie follows the history of silent hill 3 but also with the characters of Radha Mitchell and Sean bean. I think it would be good to introduce the main character of the SH2 (game) with a minor role, tomake a 3rd movie with the plot of SH2 game. Bravo for all team that made this movie, changng characters but respecting the game and his plot, music, etc. Bravo for Christophe Gans. And also great ending credits
I understand that they cast a female in Harry Mason's place as he seemed to feminine but i would have liked to see a male actor pull that off, it'd be a nice change.

How do people not understand this movie? Rose and Sharon/Dark Alessa are trapped in the Fog World not dead. Only Cybil is dead. How they got out of the Fog World will have to be explained in Silent HIll: Revelations 3D.
They borrowed Pyramid head, so what? It was more of a nod to fans than anything else. They didn't make him a huge part of the story. They put him in to appease us. I mean come on, when someone says "Silent Hill movie" the first thing everyone wants to see is a live action Pyramid head, it was more of an easter egg in the film than a plot piece.

@JmotherfuckingP If you recall when Rose wen't to silent hill with her daughter while the cop was chasing her she saw a ghost of some sort and swerved and thats when her and her daughter died beacuse she crashed then she woke up in silent hill with a completely detroyed car and the cop explained to her that she fell of her bike after she told her she was bleeding and thats how the cop died also.
Easily one of the best looking horror movies ever made- visually stunning. They even did a fantastic job on the end credits when it could have just been a black screen with text scrolling! The art and design crew should have got awards for this. And using "You're Not Here" from Silent Hill 3 as the end song = fan perfection!
the girl playing as the Reaper was very talented and acted perfectly. First time I've seen a horror movie where I actually rooted for the "dark force" behind it all.
@BZhubb808 Well this is just a cast roll, (assuming you're talking about this part of the ending).. showing the cast members in a rushed Game like environment, Silent Hill (The Game) style. But if you're talking about the movie ending as a whole. *spoiler alert* the little girl, dark version.. was the Devil (not death). Made a deal with Alessa after (she cooked 1/4 of the town) her accident, that "IT" would keep them (the cult-folks) in limbo/lingo, where they would recieve eternal "justice".
@BZhubb808 But not before extracting the last shred of innocence out of Alessa, and out of town. But upon fulfilling said act.. they (IT) hit a snag. Turns out, the cult-folks were more stubborn than appeared. And that their, "blind faith" can actually repel the darkness/justice. So (IT) came up with another plan.. and used the mother to "clarify" to the blind the truth. This "lucid" deal that IT had with the mother was under the intention that, after she and her "child", they would go free.
@BZhubb808 and then we (finally) come to the ending. Since it was a "lucid" deal with no specifications.. IT kept IT's word (sort of). IT (she was not Sharron) took the Mother back to her house.. although she/they were still in lingo/limbo reality. So all in all.. everyone gets screwed, and the devil wins again hahahahah.
When I first watched the movie yesterday on Syfy. This song was on my mind the whole time. And then when they played the song i was like O_O!!!!! oh great Nostalgia of SH3 and DDR lol
@daboss258 They are in an alternate reality from the father. That's why when the mother and father are in the same place in the town at seemingly the same town and also at their home, the place looks different and he can only smell her perfume.
@CapnJim09 I wouldn't say "alternate" reality.. I would say limbo/lingo. Similar to the one on Inception, except.. they aren't dreaming.. they are dead. Very few go to that place, and even fewer get out. It's where the souls of those who are in denial linger.. until they realize or accept it, or both. =)
The credits were awesome i liked how it showed the monsters including pyramid head he's my fav' even though the changed harry mason into a woman and changed cherylls name to cheron this movie was better the The resident evil movies. What i also like about the sh movie is that some seems are similar from the game They really did a good job on the nurses too. I already watched the movie three times.

For the one that doesn't get the ending: Rose and Sharon Da Silva (Alessa Gillespie) are trapped on the Fog World, they can't get out because Sharon and Alessa fused. btw i like that they use multiple games themes. but it would be awesome that on the car part (at the beginning) they used the first Silent Hill theme
This is a Perfect Song for a Perfect Movie! It has coolness, style, a hint of sadness and the music itself is very well created. I also love the vocals and Lyrics.
I loved this movie. Granted, it was not perfect, but it was a million times better than 99% of the game adaptations that hollywood and Uwe Boll has shoveled out.
I liked this movie, I loved almost everything about this movie. The only thing I don't like about this is how confusing the storyline is. I had to watch it 2 times to actually understand everything. I also had to compare it with the game to understand it too. So alot of people who don't play the game will be even more confused.
For the love of everything that is good! Could you please tell me what the storyline to the movie was? I couldn't decipher it at all! I watched it 11 times over again, and still didn't understand.
Ive done some research and this is what Ive found out about the sequel.
Roger Avary is returning to work on the story now that he has been released from prison.
Christophe Gans is unsure at the moment if he will be able to direct again or not, but has been quoted as saying that he still plans to have a big influence on the sequel and also ensure that the visual look of the first film is retained.
@Shonziquav I dont believe them to be dead. If you remember earlier in the film it was said that the vehicles had been recovered but no bodies. It seems that they are stuck in a different dimension rather than being dead. Hopefully the sequel will be just as great as the first.
The credits always reminded me of Silent Hill 3. Not just because of the song (<3), but the way the locations constantly change is almost identical the church in which Heather experiences moments from Alessa's past and childhood.
@FuZioNHD The Silent Hill movie didn't end with a cliffhanger. It ended as the viewer comes to the depressing realization that Rose and Sharon can never leave the Fog World.
Somethin people have to realize about Movies that their not going to base it like the cartoon or video games! So stop complaining that the games are better!if you think the movie sucked then try and see if you make a better version of it!

can somebody explain the ending to me, like how and when they died because they never did and at the end its showing that they are because the guy is where they are but they are in like two different dimensions??? PLEASE EXPLAIN IVE BEEN CONFUSED ABOUT THIS SINCE THE MOVIE CAME OUT

@JmotherfuckingP If you recall when Rose wen't to silent hill with her daughter while the cop was chasing her she saw a ghost of some sort and swerved and thats when her and her daughter died beacuse she crashed then she woke up in silent hill with a completely detroyed car and the cop explained to her that she fell of her bike after she told her she was bleeding and thats how the cop died also.

Easily one of the best looking horror movies ever made- visually stunning. They even did a fantastic job on the end credits when it could have just been a black screen with text scrolling! The art and design crew should have got awards for this. And using "You're Not Here" from Silent Hill 3 as the end song = fan perfection!

And she does say she have many names... Why couldn't "Samael" be one of them?
Either way, her role in the story is similar to Samael's, if I remember correctly. Both were the main evil forces behind Silent-Hill.

@BZhubb808 Well this is just a cast roll, (assuming you're talking about this part of the ending).. showing the cast members in a rushed Game like environment, Silent Hill (The Game) style. But if you're talking about the movie ending as a whole. *spoiler alert* the little girl, dark version.. was the Devil (not death). Made a deal with Alessa after (she cooked 1/4 of the town) her accident, that "IT" would keep them (the cult-folks) in limbo/lingo, where they would recieve eternal "justice".

@BZhubb808 But not before extracting the last shred of innocence out of Alessa, and out of town. But upon fulfilling said act.. they (IT) hit a snag. Turns out, the cult-folks were more stubborn than appeared. And that their, "blind faith" can actually repel the darkness/justice. So (IT) came up with another plan.. and used the mother to "clarify" to the blind the truth. This "lucid" deal that IT had with the mother was under the intention that, after she and her "child", they would go free.

@BZhubb808 and then we (finally) come to the ending. Since it was a "lucid" deal with no specifications.. IT kept IT's word (sort of). IT (she was not Sharron) took the Mother back to her house.. although she/they were still in lingo/limbo reality. So all in all.. everyone gets screwed, and the devil wins again hahahahah.

@daboss258 They are in an alternate reality from the father. That's why when the mother and father are in the same place in the town at seemingly the same town and also at their home, the place looks different and he can only smell her perfume.

@CapnJim09 I wouldn't say "alternate" reality.. I would say limbo/lingo. Similar to the one on Inception, except.. they aren't dreaming.. they are dead. Very few go to that place, and even fewer get out. It's where the souls of those who are in denial linger.. until they realize or accept it, or both. =)

The credits were awesome i liked how it showed the monsters including pyramid head he's my fav' even though the changed harry mason into a woman and changed cherylls name to cheron this movie was better the The resident evil movies. What i also like about the sh movie is that some seems are similar from the game They really did a good job on the nurses too. I already watched the movie three times.

For the one that doesn't get the ending: Rose and Sharon Da Silva (Alessa Gillespie) are trapped on the Fog World, they can't get out because Sharon and Alessa fused. btw i like that they use multiple games themes. but it would be awesome that on the car part (at the beginning) they used the first Silent Hill theme

I liked this movie, I loved almost everything about this movie. The only thing I don't like about this is how confusing the storyline is. I had to watch it 2 times to actually understand everything. I also had to compare it with the game to understand it too. So alot of people who don't play the game will be even more confused.

Ive done some research and this is what Ive found out about the sequel.
Roger Avary is returning to work on the story now that he has been released from prison.
Christophe Gans is unsure at the moment if he will be able to direct again or not, but has been quoted as saying that he still plans to have a big influence on the sequel and also ensure that the visual look of the first film is retained.
Don Carmody is returning to produce
Radha Mitchell is also set to return

@Shonziquav I dont believe them to be dead. If you remember earlier in the film it was said that the vehicles had been recovered but no bodies. It seems that they are stuck in a different dimension rather than being dead. Hopefully the sequel will be just as great as the first.

The credits always reminded me of Silent Hill 3. Not just because of the song (<3), but the way the locations constantly change is almost identical the church in which Heather experiences moments from Alessa's past and childhood.

it was an okay movie, but it would have been better if they based it on one game of the series instead of mashing the 3 together.
the nurse with no eyes was lisa, from the first game right? i was really looking forward to how her death scene would be portrayed in the movie, but they changed it so it didn't show.
