Every single thing this guy says agrees totally with what I saw with my father. He had life-long asthma and very early heart attacks. Every heart attack was at rest and one was in his sleep. After 3 heart attacks he could still carry a piano up a fire escape with no problems but at rest he got ill. Asthma patients will tell you that smoking helps a lot in the short term. An early remedy was marijuana. (Potters Asthma Remedy in U.K.) Now you know why. Smoking is not the answer though.
Is this right that the 15s 15liter a minute breathes are breathes of 1 sec inhale exhale for 13 seconds and one sec of doing nothing? At 4 breathes per minute making breathe with an intake of 15l/4breathes per min at 3.75 L per breathe? The healthy breathe taking in 1/4 a liter of air per breathe with 5 seconds breathes 12 1/4 liter breathes a minute or 3.25 L a minute with a total difference of only .5 liters a minute in total air difference between a heavy breath and a healthy breather
It is hard to understand what these numbers mean. Do they relate to the CP test or most common automatic breathing patterns? If you are interested in basal breathing patterns find the Buteyko Table of Health Zones. Additional info is on the web pages devoted to breathing patterns.
Very useful, pulls important evidence-based information together, and explains why a lot of problems are missed by the health profession i.e. they are worse in the early morning.
Well, this is just the science behind Buteyko. You need to practice the Buteyko technique in order to correct your breathing patterns. Find someone who can teach you. Nowadays there are many centres in the UK as well...

A little Wodka helps us Russians breath right too. Right up until we drink ourselves to death.

I did this breathing technique and it changed my breathing. It made it deeper and quiet, and it stops my overbreathing.
