That was so stupid when they showed the jerry lawler segmant & he mentioned mike skills. Then they showed the WCW segment where Sting who has great Mike skills stopped speaking for a whole year in 1996 because of his Crow Gimmick Wich is regarded as one of the Greatest Angles,Gimmicks & re-debuts in Pro-Wrestling History but then started speaking again afterword & started cutting Great promos. What poor Journalisim on their part for not realising that.
"The actor and the character are the same"? What the hell is this guy talking about? So Mankind was really some psycho, trichotillomanic freak who lived in a boiler room?
uwf in japan was a shoot style wrestling but was not well recived cause how can a match be shoot and the ending a work, wrestling is a work if u want shoot figthing it would be mma or ufc, most people find these days lou thez or stu hart or danny hodges matches boring and just holds after holds
I've always hated it when people tried to say that fans have no patience for scientific wrestling or whatever. Yes it did get more violent as the years wore on, but yet this same period they speak of here saw the likes of Gagne, Bockwinkel, the Funks, and the Briscoes, and then Flair and Michaels and Hart. Yeah, there is going to be highspots to pop the crowd and violent matches to intrigue us, but we still love WRESTLING as the core.
"The fans didn't want to see shoot matches." Actually, as MMA and the UFC shows, there were fans for that. I like pro wrestler, but I do wish they had a shoot organization throughout it's post 30s history as well. Think about it, Karl Gotch, Lou Thesz, Verne Gagne, Danny Hodges, Stu Hart and Anoki in real shoot matches. That would have been awesome.
they're spot-on with what they're saying about Andre the Giant. He was the single kindest wrestler I've ever met and I've met all the big wrestling stars of the 80's and 90's.
man if someone would explain how to upload stuff to me... ive got prolly 100 wrestling vids on vhs, id have to convert em to dvd. but i got alot i could put on here. ive even got the old nwa crocket cup. i think it was 86 or 87. id like to have some of that old stuff on here to watch

@oldschool6804 i dont doubt it but he was in alot of pain. pain tends to put a person in a really rotten mood, to say the very least.

no bruno wtf no wonder he was pissed about not being on this
jblive1985 3 years ago
Don Vinnie did not want Bruno in the documentary--and since Vinnie is the emperor of wrestling and wrestling archival footage, he makes the rules.
