I tell you, i hear Richter and Oistrakh's version, Rubinstein and Szeryng, Argerich and Kremer, Kempff and Menuhin, but this rendition has something very special, i like it a lot more than any other version.
omg i have never heard this before, and wow hearing this for the first time is definitely a breath of fresh air, now i listen to this daily it just makes me smile and be grateful!i I LOVE BEETHOVEN!
omg i have never heard this before, and wow hearing this for the first time is definitely a breathof fresh air, now ilisten to this daily it just makes me smile and be grateful!i I LOVE BEETHOVEN!
Though I am totally aware, that winter is coming.... :0) In the very first seconds I sense the arrival of spring. Perhaps the feeling in your heart when something beatiful will happen to you. I guess hope & confidence for the unknown!
My FAVORITE!!! I especially love the first 10 seconds. Amazing. Absolutely beautiful. I love how music can just fill you up in inexplainable joy in mere seconds.
But this performance is a bit too cool for my tastes. This piece shows Beethoven in an unusually unqualified good mood. There could be more of an overflowing, ebullient (i.e. less controlled) quality to the performance.
i really love this song because it's a duet/sonata my brother and i are gonna be playing this song together at the SYMF thing. he's gonna play the piano part and i'm gonna play the violin part. i have high hopes for this because our teachers Love us. they spend lots of time with us one this. and, this will b our second duet. the first time, it was at the SYMF too, and we got second i really hope this goes well cuz i'm gonna be coming back from taiwan early for this!
Generally I do not feel drawn to Beethoven's piano and violin sonatas. But there are exceptions; and this is one such exception. Beautiful music, beautifully executed!
Yum Yum..I love this!! Igor....I played with you and Vesna years ago, San Diego for only one year..I split and ran away! LOL...you sound as beautiful as ever. And I hope Vesna is well. I miss hearing this sound. I don't think I have heard this old style from any other living violinist in YEARS. Decades. I miss it and I love it. Thanks for the video!
yes, if you can't fine this performance inspiring then you have a couple things deterring you, A) you have no understanding of rhythm change, B)no understanding of finger control, and lastly no understanding of muscianship in general.
I listen to this all the time, to remember how to play it. Each time it gets better and better. I agree, each of our reactions is how Beethoven intended us to be. This song is so springy!
This version makes you think of well...Spring not the technique of the violinist. This version also sounds like a duo piece for piano and violin which is what it is supposed to be. The fiddle player shouldn't stand there conduct the pianist.
I just love how Igor Gruppman plays. His manner of playing is very emotional and shows mood swings very good. It is very enjoyable to attend his concerts. By the way, his wife Dr. Gruppman also plays violin. She is not less divine than her husband.
I also agree! maybe because it's the version I've always heard since I was young... but it's really... more consistent... one can feel the same identity of the piece since the beginning untill the end.
I really love this !!

I agree that the pianist is simply perfect. The violinist is indeed excellent but I'm not quite sure he really got the meaning of this piece ...
