  • I really love this !!

  • ... this is a good video for comprehending BOWING ... !

  • I tell you, i hear Richter and Oistrakh's version, Rubinstein and Szeryng, Argerich and Kremer, Kempff and Menuhin, but this rendition has something very special, i like it a lot more than any other version.

  • magique

  • I may have killed the replay button...

  • i really love this music..

  • I listented to this like twenty times,

    BUT I STILL LOVE IT!

  • I love this.

¡Bravo!

  • 9:31 is the most interesting part of this piece...I love it!

  • Viloin is soooo good!

However, piano seemed a bit not match.

  • @ChiefAdministrator

    I just tell the truth.

However, I don't think I can be better.

  • same feeling, that's why i liked your playing

  • Thank you!:)

  • heeling!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sweeeeet, i feel the spring coming

  • Yes, It is sweet....

But in which part of the Hearth are you for saying that spring it´s coming on?.... It´s coming the Winter, 4example here in Europe!!!! xD!

  • Though I am totally aware, that winter is coming.... :0) In the very first seconds I sense the arrival of spring. Perhaps the feeling in your heart when something beatiful will happen to you. I guess hope & confidence for the unknown!

    How about you? :)

  • My FAVORITE!!! I especially love the first 10 seconds. Amazing. Absolutely beautiful. I love how music can just fill you up in inexplainable joy in mere seconds.

  • No doupt the greatest violin/piano sonata i have ever heard.

  • This is freaking nice!!

  • I agree that the pianist is simply perfect. The violinist is indeed excellent but I'm not quite sure he really got the meaning of this piece ...

  • Talking about classic! This one clip is simply the best. Both of them are so perfect.

     I love this song

  • I think this is a very fine committed performance. The violinist is excellent and the pianist simply perfect.

  • I don't care about "mess ups."

But this performance is a bit too cool for my tastes. This piece shows Beethoven in an unusually unqualified good mood. There could be more of an overflowing, ebullient (i.e. less controlled) quality to the performance.

  • 9:39

  • eye no, eye'm anoyin' right?

i think this is good, but could do with some polishing to ensure absolutely no mess ups...

  • oh, and bad idea at 3:26 to tighten his bow!

  • i really love this song because it's a duet/sonata my brother and i are gonna be playing this song together at the SYMF thing. he's gonna play the piano part and i'm gonna play the violin part. i have high hopes for this because our teachers Love us. they spend lots of time with us one this. and, this will b our second duet. the first time, it was at the SYMF too, and we got second i really hope this goes well cuz i'm gonna be coming back from taiwan early for this!

  • he messed up at 5.40 and 5.42. in general, it was good

  • i agree. a lot.

  • this is one of my favorite piece..i start to love it since i first heard this one. it made me appreciate how great music was.

  • -_- .... holy shit.

  • that's great . I love this song!!

  • Generally I do not feel drawn to Beethoven's piano and violin sonatas. But there are exceptions; and this is one such exception. Beautiful music, beautifully executed!

  • Yum Yum..I love this!! Igor....I played with you and Vesna years ago, San Diego for only one year..I split and ran away! LOL...you sound as beautiful as ever. And I hope Vesna is well. I miss hearing this sound. I don't think I have heard this old style from any other living violinist in YEARS. Decades. I miss it and I love it. Thanks for the video!

  • gorgeous ..... velvet, pure sounds, pianist and violinist alike. a true pleasure to hear.

  • totally agree. Very pure and comfortable. Beautiful!

    5*****

  • I love all music ...but is this the greatest of all the rest I leave it to you dear reader

  • Beautiful piece and performance!

  • They're incredible.!! So musical.

  • brilliant playing!! I've been wanting to play this song for ages, just wondering where I might get this music

  • Yeah, it's a great piece...you can order the urtext online from Henle Music

  • wow, his playing is so sweet and smooth... like icing on a cake! I wish my violin would sound that nice, but then again, I'm only on suzuki book 2 :P

Very inspiring~ off to practice :D

  • Oh my gosh! I know him, and I just now found him on Youtube, and I happen to be playing this piece right now! How awesome.

  • Simply, moving.

  • I have no idea i hope he is

  • He is fine. He played here in Florida a few weeks ago! Thanks.

  • lol =))

  • I'm not impressed at all. This performance does anything but blow my mind.

  • U have no sense in music then

  • yes, if you can't fine this performance inspiring then you have a couple things deterring you, A) you have no understanding of rhythm change, B)no understanding of finger control, and lastly no understanding of muscianship in general.

  • Unbelievable! Bravo!

  • I listen to this all the time, to remember how to play it. Each time it gets better and better. I agree, each of our reactions is how Beethoven intended us to be. This song is so springy!

  • I'm playing this song, it is amazingly flawless. It's definitely my new favorite song!

  • it touched my heart. <3

  • wow beautiful, i love this one better than Anne- sophie mutter... [2]

  • Oh...so beautiful! Now, this is what Beethoven intended for this piece to sound like! Probably the best performance of this piece on youtube!

  • This version makes you think of well...Spring not the technique of the violinist. This version also sounds like a duo piece for piano and violin which is what it is supposed to be. The fiddle player shouldn't stand there conduct the pianist.

  • better than the other girl

  • I just love how Igor Gruppman plays. His manner of playing is very emotional and shows mood swings very good. It is very enjoyable to attend his concerts. By the way, his wife Dr. Gruppman also plays violin. She is not less divine than her husband.

  • I also agree! maybe because it's the version I've always heard since I was young... but it's really... more consistent... one can feel the same identity of the piece since the beginning untill the end.

  • agree!

  • yeah I agree with macyjade. Anne's is a bit weird.

  • wow beautiful, i love this one better than Anne- sophie mutter...

  • That, my friend, is a given!
