  • bottom left dot is the bottom hole of the recorder top right is the hole at the end

  • "would you like to talk to saria"

    "no"

"Ok then would you like to talk to me then"

    HELL NAW!😲🔫

  • Would you like to talk to Saria?

  • Easy to learn

  • i suck at this

  • Falou.

  • Way to fast bro, way to fast...

  • LIKE

  • so black dots are where the fingers go?

  • what do you call that flute in english? i don't know the english word for it.

  • @ThibautVDP A recorder. (duh it's in the name)

  • @ThibautVDP I call it a flute in my language, Portuguese, but apparently, it's called "recorder" in English.

  • It makes perfect sense. You just don't understand it.

  • Thanks dude even though I cant do It it needs to be slower for me :D

  • @Epicderangedcow Just keep pausing the video. This is more of a guide for those who can't figure out the notes. Keep trying calmly and you'll make it!

  • this video sucks the chart is rong

  • @JurycePxndx I'm sorry that you can't read or write. I hope you get well soon!

  • u wrong

  • The chart is messed up i have a diferent recorder and it has a diferent chart -_-

  • If you couldn't figure out this chart, then your pretty damn retarted...

  • @elitesuperhaxor it doesnt make scence

  • I dont get the mi E , it doesn't sound the same at all on my recorder :/

  • @CreamyIcee try covering the bottom hole whole i had trouble with that for a while but i finally figured it out

  • yay im gonna keep on practicing! :D

  • Dude in this video the fingering chart on the side makes no sence

  • @W3BMAST3ER34 Come in, it's not that hard to understand. Bottom part = closest to your mouth. Black holes = cover them.

  • @srb2Espyo Ohh ok i thought it was the other way around thx

  • @srb2Espyo The fingering chart is normally put the other way around so I also freaked out

  • Learn on the ocarina now I just need it on recorder ;)

  • My daughter is practicing playing this on her recorder. Thank you!

  • @anjuliet You're welcome. :) I wish I had more time to improve this tutorial, but I just can't find time...

  • I can It!! 8D

    Thnkx :D

  • Can you make a tutorial like this for "Zelda's Lullaby "? *_*

  • @MaryChan91 Zelda's Lullaby uses some notes that I just can't play in a recorder. Either I'm doing it wrong and I need to find the correct notes, or it's impossible to play in a recorder.

  • @srb2Espyo DDD: ok, thank you :3

  • @srb2Espyo Oh no you can, its just the notes are sometimes hard to hit. Look up Zeldas lullaby on recorder and you can see the guy playing it

  • @shayaisme I tried seeing a couple of videos, but the notes were always VERY off key. I'll try searching again later.

  • @srb2Espyo Really? I found one that sounded ok, I think to play it in a higher key you need an ocarina(Which I might get :P)

  • i suck at recorder ill stick to clarinet

  • 18 people need to learn how to be more BEASTLY.

  • 17 people cant gt saria

  • Comment removed

  • awesome tutorials thanks a lot!

  • mine is a soprano recorder -_____- why!?

  • love the song :) Thanks to you I can play the song even i haven't touched my flute since i was in first grade :P

  • 17 People want to forget all about his Childhood and Pressed the Dislike Button! :D

  • me love you long time.....

  • i love this song im 9 and i played and beat ocarina of time but its a bit hard to learn because its so fast

  • There is a mistake in the printable notesheet. The third line down, it is the second Mi-E note. It shows that the thumb hole is covered up when it should not be. Hope that helps. Thanks for helping me learn these songs. =P

  • @Keisuke42 Oh! You're right! I'll fix it in a second. Thanks!

  • @srb2Espyo I think a few of them are like that.

  • i can't read notes or FAB or w/e :(

  • @heatherstar87 Those are the notes' names in the US. In Europe, they are named Do, Re, Mi, etc. Essentially, it's:

    A=La

    B=Si

    C=Do

    D=Re

    E=Mi

    F=Fa

    G=Sol

  • sometins rong w/ ma recorder , i cant do none of this , its pissin me off

  • ah! e o seu Ingles e' muito bom.!

  • @FadoDeo4444 Obrigado!

  • ÇJust what I was looking for!

  • wow.

  • you play F covering four i was always told F is all covered but the 5th ... does it make a difference ?

  • @delladentremont There's little to no difference. I took those notes from Wikipedia, IIRC. If you play it by covering 4 or 5, the sound is pretty identical.

  • @srb2Espyo hmm alright :P well thank you

  • this has been so helpful you have no idea XP ... lovely diagram .. i had the notes for this song but i didnt know what was high or low so i just wanted your thing and it showed me :) thank you !!!

  • Comment removed

  • the diagram is upside down?

  • @AmethystMuffinRose I decided to draw the diagram based on the first-person view when playing the recorder. When you're playing it, you look down, and you see the holes like on the diagrams. I could make it the normal way around, but it's not too important.

  • @srb2Espyo no no i totally get it :] it just took me like 5 minutes lol. I however for some reason cannot get E right >.<

  • @AmethystMuffinRose The higher E? That one's a bit tricky. If you play it softly, a horrible squeal will come out, but if you play that note a bit louder, it'll come out right.

  • @srb2Espyo i dunno both Es actually, it might just be me though lol

  • @AmethystMuffinRose If you play the Higher E with the back hole only half way uncovered; it will be notably easier to get the sound especially if you're playing a bit softer. =)

  • @FadoDeo4444 really? ^^ thank yous I shall try that

  • @AmethystMuffinRose haha; yeah, as a matter of fact, the "proper" way to play that E is exactly by uncovering only half of the back hole, but in some cases it's just most practical leaving it completely open... I am guilty of that, but it is of little consequence since the sound is virtually the same, except that the recorder demands more air to play the note correctly with the back hole completely open. =)

  • @FadoDeo4444 Well, im like super beginner at this and various other instruments so I would say i'm guilty at being bad xD

  • i dont get the diagram

  • @jasyn197 The circles on the bottom of the image are the holes that are closest to your mouth when you play. Black circles mean that the hole is covered. The bottom-right circle is the hole on the back of the recorder.

  • that was pretty good:]

  • awesoooome

  • Obrigado!

  • Hey nice video! Mine's kind of funny, i hope you see it =D

Buen video!

  • thanks so much for your help.I will try to keep up.

  • You did a wonderful job! I am 46 years old and I started playing the Zelda games in the 80's and have played them up to the twilight princess. Ocarina of time was my favorite one. I now am trying to learn the songs from Ocarina of Time. I can get the slower note but when you speed up I have trouble can you help me please. I would be so thankful. Keep up the good work.

  • @sannee63 It's really though to play it slowly enough so people can follow, but fast enough so it isn't a long drag. But if you can't figure out some notes, use the "notesheet" on the description. If you still have problems, try using a real notesheet. You can easily find one on Google.

  • which are the high and which are the low notes???

  • @kawaiihonya The higher pitched notes (i.e. the ones closest to the mouth) are the lower ones on the images.

  • @srb2Espyo i meant in the note sheet.. u dont say which

  • @kawaiihonya It's the same thing. The holes closest to the bottom of the image are the ones closest to your mouth.

  • @srb2Espyo high and low note are two different things..... -.-

  • what are the to buttons on the sides for? which one is for the back hole and whats the other one

  • @SneakersGalore The hole on the back of the recorder is the one on the left. The one on the right is the one that follows the column of holes on the recorder's front.

  • i just learned to play ode to joy! on recorder today

  • THANK YOU VERY MUCH IM SO HAPPY T.T

  • thanks *-* now I can play this song on my flute too :)

  • Rawr-_________- I try to play but the notes all Sound the Same:/ Whats Wrong??o.o

  • the hole on the back

  • @ZeLdALiNkFOREVER1 You have to press the hole in the back of the flute

  • Phew... I thought my breathing/blowing was wrong...

  • Can you play Zelda's lullaby too??

  • Actually, I tried playing Zelda's Lullaby several times before, but some of the notes required are really high. Higher than what I can play in a recorder.

  • he's go to fast!

  • this guy is going to fast i have to play and pause play and play pause xD

  • wonderful, xD thanks i need this song make me hapyy in the sad moments ): :D

  • heh thanx to u i learned dat song

  • Have you made a vid like this for Zelda's Lullaby? Ive searched the internet and and only got three notes...(F G E)

  • Nope. Sorry. But listen: Zelda's Lullaby for the recorder is next to impossible to play. The range of notes that music uses is huge.

  • you're good :)

  • Haha, indeed they are. Kids with internet is always a disaster.

  • i cannot thank you enough for posting this!!!

It was so helpful to both me and my friend <3

  • Exactly u duche. it was a simple typing error. And you do act like a dick if your putting that comment up. And yes i do have a problem with it.

  • What, are you his boyfriend or something? Oh, and learn to use the reply button newfag.

  • why watch it just to put a bad comment on it?

  • Why watch what? Specify that "it".

Why bad comments? Because you were the one who replied to one of my comments, and besides, it's easier being bad than good. Got a prob? Too bad.

  • the first comment you put on the video! and if you don't like it, don't comment or even watch it.

  • Cry more pl0x.

  • Ok, first of all im a girl u son of a bitch. Second i met this person on another website, third you have no right to say this kind of stuff. and PS~ LEARN NOT TO BE A DICK!

  • Ooooh, I hit a nerve! I love when people get offended. I could care less about that person that you met, and this is a free world where I can say what the hell I want.

PS: Take some Ritalin, you need it.

  • DON'T TALK TO MY FRIEND LIKE THAT!!!

  • I'm blocking you

  • I like you brother.

  • thnx u helped me learn, post zeldas lullaby

  • awesome, tyvm =)

  • u rock but realllly i got to get a life all i can play is epona's song and i know how to play all da notes

  • You tried aaaannnddd... You failed. But hey, thanks for trying!

Honestly, if you think this is gay, why are you watching then? I'm sorry my friend, but failure belongs in everyone's life. You just failed.

  • i agree with srb2espyo u actually do fail and miserably as in actually fuck off lol great tutorial dude but i cant play recorder just bought 1 and i dont know the chords or notes or whatever there called /cry must play sarias song :(

  • When I decided to post these How to Play videos, I thought that not everyone knows the notes. In fact, I don't! I play it by ear, and am based of the holes I plugged. That's why the pictures on the right show which holes to cover. If you need further help on how to understand the pictures, check the comments.

  • I LOVVVVVVVVVE YOU ! you're my hero <3

  • Post a better HOW TO PLAY video about this song then.

  • And you suck dicks, GTFO kkthxbai

  • why did you watch the video if you would put a bad comment on it? i doesn't make sence.

  • You doesn't make sense? Now THAT doesn't make sense.

Because I sometimes act like a dick, got a problem with that?

  • it was a simple typing error and i get annoyed by people like you

  • Boo hoo freaking hoo.

  • how do u read this

  • And if you can make it printable, that would be really cool, (you know, like the notes, as pictures, and stuff.) THANKS!

  • Hmmm... I'm going to create some bmp files with the notes for each music. I'll upload them later.

As for slowing the song down, I understand that it might be a bit fast, but you got to understand I can't go any slower. Not only would the long notes make me choke out of breath, but the video could pass the 10 minute limit if I'm not careful. You could always try to download the video (using some tools) and using Windows Movie Maker to slow it down yourself, if you're still having problems.

  • Hey, im new to the whole recorder thing...so could you make a video with it going slower, like the samething, but slower. PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!

    THANK YOU!

  • Im new to the recorder and I don't understand on the recorder dots are you pressing the top ones too

  • In the pictures, each dot represents a hole. A black dot means a covered hole. A semi-black dot means a semi-covered hole. The line in the middle is just to indicate that the bottom part is for the right hand, and the top part for the left hand. The holes on the lower part of the image are the ones lower on the instrument; the ones closer to the bottom hole.

    Hope this helps.
