I just wanna say that Barbara Anderson (EVE) is one the most beautiful woman I have ever laid eyes on. I also remember her in a Star Trek episode. A wonderful actress!!!!
This was before he became a "celebrity" a year later (due to his occasional apperances on "ROWAN & MARTIN'S LAUGH-IN"}; the two-hour "pilot" this sequence came from originally aired in March 1967.
I have loved Tiny since I was a child. But this performance is so haunting, and this song is firmly stuck in my head. Does anyone know the writer, and/or a place to find the chords?
wow -- American television goes Felini!! 1) the Narc walking among the hippies searching for a bad hippy; 2) Symphony for Cymbals; 3) Raymond Burr pretending to be straight and Tiny Tim pretending to be fey (which colors him gay in this era) ...
As I was saying, Tiny is playing RIGHT HANDED in this clip. This is the only time I have ever seeen him play ukelele right handed. He was a lefty. I did read somewhere he always played guitar right handed and taught himself to write right handed to cure his headaches. A unique character.
Herb originally played the uke with his right hand and write with it as well, but he started to get awful migranes. His solution was to use his left hand for most things, and his headaches stopped, amazingly.
ah he is just so cute

The editing is making me feel a tad seasick - good song, but.

I have no idea what the hell is going on in this pilot but I love it.

Not hippies. Maybe more like Merry Pranksters, or absurdists.
And the real Raymond Burr, I have no doubt, would have been quite comfortable in a SubGenius-like environment.

Tiny usually played his uke left handed, but he could play righty as well, and has been known to play guitar right handed.

It's called whistling in the dark and i believe it was first recorded by sam lanin.

@asabougies Thanks for the Lanin's name, I found a recording. I eventually worked out my own chords for this lovely song!

what was that song called that tiny was singing?
chopface96 3 years ago
I note that this is the first time I've seen footage with him holding the ukulele like a right-handed person. Odd since he always has it lefty.
