No cover song is better than the original. You can prefer the cover to the original but it will never be better than it.
For example I prefer Fall Out Boy's version of Beat it. But I know it will never be as good as Michael Jackson's original.
Gabrielle's version is not better than than You Me At Six's, you probably just prefer it, because she has a softer voice than Josh's and your not used to Josh's.

Can I just say:
No cover song is better than the original. You can prefer the cover to the original but it will never be better than it.
For example I prefer Fall Out Boy's version of Beat it. But I know it will never be as good as Michael Jackson's original.
Gabrielle's version is not better than than You Me At Six's, you probably just prefer it, because she has a softer voice than Josh's and your not used to Josh's.
This is my opinion anyway :)

I love this, and I've been a fan of You Me At Six for a long time now! But I've got to admit i Like Gabrielle's version more. And that doesn't make me any less of a you me at six fan. Yes this is You Me At Six's song and they wrote this first but she sings this amazingly and.. there is not any bad shit between Josh and Gabi so stop freakin' out guys. Have your opinions but dont slag off other artists who are trying to get somewhere. xoxo

This gabriella's version is nothing compared to this.
a) she didn't write it, it means nothing to her, it means something to josh.
b) i never knew songs were a competition to see how high you could sing.
I'm sure version would be good if i had the hearing range of a dog, but while i'm a human, i think i'll stick to this version, thanks....

As you can tell, they don't have any bass, drums, or guitar in this except acoustic ; of course. And this is raw music right here. So thank you for saying this.

I like this version better than Gabrielle Aplin's. I think it's more sincere because they have raw talent in this one. She did good, too. Don't get me wrong. I just like this one better. Josh's vocals stand out in this one.

I just want to say I'm in love with this song! And Gabrielles' cover is fantastic! It is a perfect example of what a cover should be: A song made to your own style - and she did that perfectly! And mad props to her for it making a great hit! But people need to stop comparring her version to You Me at Sixs'..like really. Both are great! If you prefer one over the other, fine but quit downsizing anyother artist for their songs not being to your liking

oh jesus christ. just because gabrielles cover happened to get this song more recognition than yma6 did, doesn't mean she's passed it off as her own song. her cover is a COVER, which is why it's different, and if people prefer her version then thats fine. i prefer some cover versions to the originals. she took the song and made it her own, get over it.

Love this version of the song!
He sang it amazingly when i saw them live, complete with the emotion of the lyrics and meaning. It was truely amazing.
And also, people should stop comparing these to Gabrielle, she has an amazing voice, and she does a really good cover, but its a completely different take on the song, and shouldn't be compared.
Simply my opinion about it though :)
