  • was that a brunswick diesel conversion? i've heard a few horror stories from there

  • @bluedemongtr we were told by a 4wd shop guy that it was not locking due to driving style , so we tried all sorts of different methods but no good... I ended up Googleing the truetrac locker and found that they are only built to run 32 inch or smaller tyres ... Mike is running 36s :(

  • @Spoon4WD

my Expedition's stock tyres are almost 31.6 inch, so I won't be able to upgrade to begger tyres with the truetrac if the 32 inch and smaller tyres rule is true.

I'll have to confirm with Eaton on that..

  • @BlueDemonGTR .... I found the reference to the 32inch Maximum size on the Eaton Site , in a TrueTrac Users Manual PDF

  • what's up with the front locker? seems it doesn't do its job!!

is it good to have the TrueTrac locker, or better to have the clutch type LSD?

I'm thinking to get both ends equiped with the TrueTrac in order to have soft on road manner. but why to have them if they will not work?

  • has that got a 6.5 brunswick in it by any chance

  • Sounds pretty nice !

  • did you have to put any internal engine mods into the motor to fit the turbo? and how much extra was a turbo kit?

  • @phatGTO1 I will have to ask Mike the next time i speak to him ..... I know he had to rebuild the engine after blowing it up running too much LPG thru it , after the rebuild he fitted the turbo ..... the turbo was off a 6.5L Diesel V8

  • @Spoon4WD no worries cheers mate

  • not a bad rig at all very ncie

  • sorry, just saw the other comment

  • i may be wrong but, does that thing have a turbo? sounds like it.

  • My brand new 6.5L (in the ToyTruck) cost $19,500 including dual exhaust , Tacho and Big radiatior. Bought from Brunswick Diesels about 5 years ago. Mikes 6.2L was a second hand engine that Mike installed himself , since install he has blown it up , rebuilt it then Turbo'd it so I am not sure how much his has cost all up. I am currently putting my engine into a Buggy chassis that i am building , if i was to do it all again I would buy the 6.6L Duramax engine ( more HP and Torque)

  • I know that Mike's still not 100% happy with his and if he was to do it all over again I think he would have gone for the Multi Valve 1HZ diesel with intercooled Turbo.

  • hey sorry late reply cheers for that. what are they like power wise like in offroad have they got a bit of grunt

  • They are awesome , especially in situations where Torque is needed ... Try find one to test drive

  • Is the engine a 1HDT?

  • NO , Its a 6.2L Chevy Turbo Diesel V8

  • Ha, nice job, I couldn't pick where u were until I saw the end. I haven't seen anyone go the very right hand side of that before. Looks good.
