Clay Aikan is a good performer yes. But the least he could do is sing the song right. Changing the lyrics was un-called for. It's supposed to go, "that your Baby Boy would save our sons and daughters? Did you know, that your Baby Boy has come to make you new?

This Child that you delivered will soon deliver you." This is not the best version of this song. Mark Lowry does it the best. kthx

I don't believe Mr. Aiken changed the lyrics on purpose. I've seen him perform this song in concert and it is just as haunting live as it is on his CD, but he occasionally mixes up the lyrics. Doesn't change the power behind the words in my opinion. I thank Mark Lowry for creating this jewel. He is very talented and I'm not surprised his audience prefers his rendition, but for pure vocal skill and interpretation, Clay Aiken is unmatched. Both men praise God openly, so it's all good.
