After Bush1 kicked Saddam out of Kuwaitt, his approvals were 92% and he lost. What gets presidents elected is the fact that they can hold attention long enough to get their message out. Palin's approvals were at 44% among everyone at a time Obama's presidential approval was 43%. Her overall rises when GOP energy rises and it will again.
