  • There is absolutely nothing wrong with what Roddick did - that is a fair and correct play, and it's not his responsibility to make it easier for his opponent. It's 100% fair play. Santoro was just embarrassed because he was getting arse handed to him, and used this as an excuse to take attention away from that fact. Anyway, nobody told him to try to take Roddick's first serve inside the baseline. It's men's tennis, and if he tries to pull a stunt like that, he can get burned, and deservedly so.

  • It's totally legitimate to hit a body serve, a lot of player do it, so I don't understand what's the problem here.

  • @rimapuraydura man the match was alredy over...

  • i would have underhand served it lol

  • y cual fue el enfado?

  • To anyone saying "just coast" i have to jump in and just say that is not the attitude a professional tennis player willl adopt at any point in a match. If you have ever played tennis to a high level you know that is not over until the last point is won and it can be turned around from anywhere so Roddick has every right to body serve. You can't as a returner complain about what type of serve is thrown at you, you should be ready for anything regardless of what stage the match is at.

  • @Edwardo1000 You found the rights words for what I wanted to say ;)

  • Santoro acts like a little child. Be a man and respect Roddicks serve, dude.

  • it doesn't matter if the match looks like it's over. every coach and every player will tell you not to ease up on the gas pedal in the red zone. body serves are part of the game, and santoro had no right to be mad.

  • I think you guys in the comment section are missing the point. This match was over when he went for the ridiculously hard body serve. Everyone knew Santoro lost; Roddick's serve was complete overkill and unnecessary. If it were the first or second set, by all means, go for as many body serves as you want. But if it's clear the match is pretty much done, just coast.

  • If someone only did body serves that would be unsportsmanlike. I can't think of any player, definitely not Roddick, who does that.

  • at least roddick seemed like he was about to apologize at the end, but a games a game. and if i played tennis professionally, id use my strengths to their fullest power too

  • I can see why Santoro should and shouldn't be mad. He should be mad because, its dangerous to hit a serve that hard directly at someone (no matter how much of a competition it is). But at the same time its just another match for Roddick and if he has a weapon that can get him free points, he should use it as much as possible.

  • he was upset because the match was over and it wasn't the good thing to serve at the body at that moment

  • Santoro is just too old for todays game

  • no where in the rule does it say you can't serve at the body, its a strategic play. You can jam up your opponent so he won't hit a good return giving you better court position. As much as I like santoro, I'm a little disappointed that he took it so badly. It happens, Roddick didn't mean to hurt him, its just the game.

  • @themaliced i'm sure there was something else in the match earlier, maybe an overhead that roddick hit at him or something too

  • @demondayzzz nope i watched it live haha santoros just a bitch lol

  • @themaliced I completely agree, very childish by Santoro

  • @themaliced Exactly. Body serves can be very effective and coaches tend to recommend it as a good target to hit. I'm sure there was more to it in this match than this video clip shows though.

  • Nadal does does body serves like this all the time....especially vs federer when they played at wimbledon

  • Wow Santoro way to be a baby. Never heard of serves to the body? Yeah whatever cry me a river, you deserve to never get far in a slam.

  • @naihomai even though youre not a baby, how far did you get in a slam?

  • @Psagap I don't really get what you mean mate.

  • idiot santoro, maybe roddick have to sorry him for that he can serve so fast ?

  • woooo !! dangerous !!!

  • Looks like Andy said "I didn't mean to" when they are about to shake hands.

  • @cgnm85 I'm pretty sure he's one of the best players in the world, and probably the best player from the US. He's got much more than just his serve dude.

  • @cgnm85 You're just a hater. Get over yourself. Roddick has proven that he deserves to be considered a good tennis player by being in the top 10-15 in the last 6 years. He may not be a Roger or Rafa, but hes still a competitor that has a chance to take them out.

  • @cgnm85 Yea roddicks serve is all he has. Good thing holding serve is the most important thing in tennis these days with all the new technology

  • What a big shit.

  • i watched this match but i forgot the speed of this serve. it looked pretty big but it was just right at him so it pissed him off haha

  • what is the speed of that serve??? incredible... Go A-Rod!!!!!

  • 0:11 - 224 km/h

  • @hijerohijero 0:11.. 224km/hr

  • Santoro. Genio y figura!!!

  • que paso no entendi

  • Pos que Santoro se cabreo porque casi le da un zambombazo de roddick directamente. Pero vamos, un acontecimiento sin importancia. Roddick se disculpa y sanseacaboooo. xD
