lol, and now they stopped produzing the dtv, right problems says toy lobster. Everytime something runs good in the commodore world, every manager wants to destroy this in hope to get more mony........ snifff
The CPU (6502-derivative) runs at 1 MHz, both on original C64 and on the DTV. The memory is larger and faster, but the only part which is improved and can benefit from that is the new graphics subsystem, the Blitter, which basically replaces VIC-II for productions using it, and is quite powerful.
@tsuihark 6510 ~1Mhz vs Z80 ~3,5Mhz then Z80 only 1.5x faster than C64.
This is because Z80 one instruction takes atleast 4 cycles/t-states but memoryoperations take atleast 7 cycles/t-states. On 6502 that is 2-7 cycles/t-states.
DTV uses a 32 Mhz ASIC so it might be possible to emulate Z80.

@3yE 1MHz? So it still can't run Speccy ports fast enough? :)

@tsuihark exactly. But the porters are to blame for shoddy work, just as 25 years ago.
