Get a grip! If your worried about having constitutional freedoms taken away then don't vote for Hillary or Obama. They have no respect for the Constitution.
i'm glad you made the point that this is not about parties, but about people. the video to which this is a response is GREAT and everyone should see it.
Put together a website that allows all people to "sign petitions of the people". The dark side of congress would sneer at your attempts, but would choke in fear if you reconciliated with the homeless (including the vets that motivating powers have used and since cast aside), and altogether stood up for what's right. Nominate suggestions for vote, petition to be heard. It legal, and it doesn't impose face to face contact or the threat of violence.
I agree that Bush & co have done a lot of wrong, but you give us no facts or examples and why we should be persuaded to your point. Tell us why the FISA bill is against the constitution, tell us why granting immunity is worse than what Nixon did, tell us how the executive/Republican power grab is bad for democracy. If anyone is reading this and really cares, check out "Broken Government" by John Dean. A good read, a comprehensible read for every American.
Go read a book, turn off MTV and realize that there is more to life than "getting laid". These issues affect everyone, and the ignorance of people like you is turning us into the next Nazi Germany.
he is well my friend he warns us all of our impending destruction yet does not know it how odd. He speaks loudly yet you do not hear him...even though he speaks the truth. For those of us paying attention we do not need to know why these things should be done because we have been paying attention to them already. It is sad really how quickly we forget the recent past. My fellow Americans please turn off the TV and read books on economics, history and the U.S. Constitution. The future of our country is at stake. I am voting for Ron Paul.
wnt that a really broad statement the christians did this to us! Wrong there are too many christians with different idea's is this " lets persecute christian time"?
they always take the "worst" examples to express the meaning of Christians..it has been going on for years..just like the Branch Davidians..you know they were not christian.
the only way to stop the corrution of our goverment is to cut off the head the Federal Reserve and the IRS. That the money they steal from us. Vote Ron Paul
we no longer have a 2 party system it is one party and they are all crooks. Ron Paul is are only hope VOTE RON PAUL give to his campainy. And pray they don't kill him as they did Kennedy
Oh please you're a fraud. If you were worried about govt abuse then you would be on Scooter Libby's side and opposed the abusive prosecution against him.
Not polital, eh? He mentioned Scooter Libby but conveniently left out Sandy Berger who stole documents from the archives and destroyed them so the Clinton regime wouldn't be called on the Spiderman carpet.
Your stupid. Read the patriot act read TMCO6 and tell me that every person that voted yea and singed it and the the person who singed it into law, Bush, does not belong in prison. This includes democrats. He mention congress also, he is bipartition not a liberal. This is not a party issue this is about America.
very impressive this guy, lots of heart. Not sure if he's just now waking up, like many others these days, but we have lost control of our government, and we need to take it back. Credit for his new awakening is in most part(i believe) due to the internet. The free press (radio, tv, newspaper, etc...)is no longer free, so to speak.
While he can't do it alone, Ron Paul is a good start for 2008.
Why don't we all just sit down like civilized people and talk out our differences? I'll make some lemonade and cookies. ATTACK ANTARCTICA WHILE WE STILL CAN!
Conspiracy theorists want you to believe that Bush allowed 9/11 to happen so he could gain powers and slowly turn the United States into a police state. I don't support conspiracy theories, but I'm starting to feel that way.
And when they say, "You know. I'd really like to do that, but we'll never get 67 Senators to convict," remind them that the Republican Senate was solidly behind Nixon until the House impeached and the evidence started rolling in.
And when they say they prefer "a robust reassertion of Congress's co-equal authority in decision-making and ensuring compliance with federal law," and they believe "that a significant change of U.S. policy can be achieved by repeatedly challenging the President legislatively..."
You respond: Once the Executive has assumed abusive powers, the only was to reject that once and for all is impeachment and trial. Otherwise it becomes a protracted battle against precedent.
The dollar has fallen to new lows because the world has lost confidence in our Presidents ability to lead. I just can't accept a President that says he went to war because he was lied to. So weak. How did he get through law school being that dumb?
Keep in mind one of the roles as U.S. President is also "Commander In Chief" and in that role, can call our military to action in whichever way he sees fit.
instead of being loyal to a person(Bush) you should be loyal to AMERICA. To allow the POTUS continue to mess up in military action is STUPID. to be able to in your words, "can call our military to action in whichever way he sees fit." is not e democratically elected person, That is the action of Monarchs and dictators.
a) Keep in mind that only Congress can declare war.
b)("Go live in Canada".) Gosh, I thought that died with the Vietnam conflict. "Do not... regard the critics as questionable patriots. What were Washington and Jefferson and Adams but profound critics of the colonial status quo?" [Adlai Stevenson]
In 10/2002, U.S. House & Senate voted overwhelmingly to give Pres. Bush broad authority to use force against Iraq. On 11/8/02 there was a unanimous vote by the UN Security Council requiring Iraq to demonstrate that it is disarming its weapons of mass destruction or face serious consequences. UN then sent a team of weapons inspectors to Iraq to verify Iraqi compliance w/this resolution, known as UN Resolution 1441.
Furhermore, yes you are right that only congress can "declare war" technically speaking, however the U.S. Supreme Court has determined that the president, as commander-in-chief of the military, does have the authority to recognize a "state of war" initiated against the United States and may in these circumstances unilaterally send U.S. troops into battle. Pres. Bush's powers as commander-in-chief allow him to act independently in defense of the nation. So there.
Bush is NOT currently acting independently in defense of the US. Our involvement in Iraq is currently a policing action in support of the recognized Iraqi government. Major combat operations in Iraq ended April 30. 2003. "Mission Accomplished"
Talk of impeachment gaining steam as a new opinion poll says nearly half of Americans favor impeachment of the president and more than half want to impeach the vice president.
Google: afterdowningstreet dot org
sign the petition to impeach cheney and bush
I think we need to go to other web sites and play Paul Revere to get people to sign the petition. Think of web sites Teamsters, truckingboards, sierra club, ect and get the news for people sign the petition.
I've seen as low as 3% for Congress, but that's possible only because the vast majority of Democratic voters believe their Democratic reps are not doing what they were hired to do. Which can be loosely stated as: "You know what Bush is doing in Iraq? Well, do something different, because that isn't working."
This guy is 180 degrees wrong. If he still can't figure out which party got us into this mess, he's hopeless.
If it weren't for Republicans, 9/11 would not have happened; we would not have lost New Orleans; we would not have the Patriot Act; we would not be at war; torture would not be national policy; world terrorism would not have tripled; our votes would still count; money would not be hemorrhaging out of the country; and we would still have a Constitution.
I think it's pretty clear that what I was saying we need to do is try to begin to blur the lines once again between parties. If we can learn to understand that opposing viewpoints simply reflect a difference of values (and NOT a lack of intelligence from the other side). Then maybe we can stop bickering long enough to remember the fact that our allegiance is to our rights and our countries legacy and not to our pride or our party.
In my experience a lot of people like that are people who have spent there entire lives living with a certain mindset, and for them to change ANY of their beliefs would mean admitting that what they've devoted their whole lives to something that has been, at least to some degree, a waste of time. And I think that's a terrifying thought for them. It's an issue of holding on to pride. When a person can't let go of old ideas and conclusions to make way for new ones there can never be change.
The Declaration of Independence has been invalid since the Constitution was written. The reason we wrote the Constitution was that the DoI gave all the power to the states and no power to the federal government. The DoI was a joke and didn't work...stop quoting it. The only thing it is good for now is to look pretty in a museum and make for a crappy storyline in a Nicholas Cage movie.
Neither party is better than the other, we have curruption in both. Just because you belong to one party doesn't mean that you should ignore the wrong doings of fellow members of that party. Once again country comes first, our constitution comes first, law comes first.
Its so funny how the fingers are still being pointed.. Your loyalty should not be to party but to country some how we have lost that along the way in american history.. I just hope that policies like the patriot act open more people's eyes to this realization.... Both democrat and republican alike.. both libral and conservative... both voted for this act.. stop pointing fingers and recognize where your responsiblity and your loyalty really stands
this guy is exactly right. please, please people. forget partisan issues, the president should not be above the law. this is just one step closer to a dictatorship and the loss of our "freedom" that i hear is supposed to be so important in this country.
I would forget partisan issues if the Democrats hadn't made this into a partisan issue to begin with. That's the only reason they have to complain about Libby's pardon. There was absolutely nothing illegal about it. Should President Bush have consulted with the Justice Dept. before issuing the pardon? Maybe. I don't really know or care. What I do know is that consulting with them is not required and not doing so it not a crime.
All this event does is exemplify the frustrations of a group of people who feel that their right to dissent and take action against authority is being smothered by this administration. I think that EVERYONE can agree that changes in this country need to be made, and that these changes can never be brought about as long as the American people are as divided as they are. Its almost like we've all pledged an unquestionable allegiance to our respective "team".
The devout political affiliations are fracturing our confidence in our ability to accomplish anything and gradually making open-minded discussion of current events slightly taboo. Just look at some of the discussion that has arisen from both sides on this comment post. I mean- if a "YouTube post" can bring about this level of animosity between complete strangers don't you think that's some sort of a sign that American people just might be taking the wrong approach the issues of this country?
However, you are absolutely right when it comes to the legality of Libby's pardon. But you said yourself that Libby's pardon "was questionable". I think the main point of liberals is that this is just one of many instances where President Bush has undermined the democratic process by taking more power into his own hands (even though, YES, the pardon was legal). I'm not saying you should agree, just ask that you understand where people of opposing viewpoints were actually coming from.
Don't preach about the ideals of non-partisan ship. First of all, for not being "partisan" you sure do have a lot of sentiment against the Republican Party. Second, if you're
worried about what President Bush has done in office by NOT pardoning Libby but putting him on probation for two years and making him pay a 250,000 fine I believe that sounds a little bit harsher than the President before who pardoned an accused murder whose wife donated a substantial amount of financial help to the Clintons.
Errrr Clintons pardons are waaaaay different. He didn't just pardon his buddies and even pardons he delivered followed DUE PROCESS as dictated by LAW Clinton followed the LAW and they DID time. Clinton also didn't try to stonewall and obstruct investgations. This isn't about Clinton. I also find it ironic you are comparing Bush to Clinton. That's your argument?
President Bush has pardoned fewer people than most Presidents in history. So if your going to start using the phrase for country, no politics, and for the betterment of our country. Why don't you start asking the questions that were just overlooked by the Clinton administration? One of most controversial list of pardons in this country's history.
Oh, and he does have the constitutional right, our founding fathers put it in there. Just as you have it to disagree and make this "great video post"
Oh and a final note, if Bush is the cause of 9/11 then what was Clinton and his Secretary of Defense when they had Osama Bin Laden at a terrorist camp and just let him live because there were "too many civilian casualties" which have all come up to show to be terrorist themselves.
Common, the wind blows both ways Mr. Freedom Fighter, look at all the facts not just the ones that you can build against the President and his administration.
How about the patriot act? How about giving Bush the right to ignore congress to "send troops" without declaring war on a sovereign country? "WAR on terror" is rhetoric. How can you wage war on a word? You deserve what your ideas bring you.
None of you complained about President Clinton sent troops into places like Bosnia and Somalia without first having Congress declare war. None of you complained when President Clinton bombed Iraq, Bosnia and that aspirin factory in Sudan (iirc) without Congress first declaring war.
lol! We've never gotten out of Bosnia, fool. We're still there! By liberals' definition, that's a quagmire, isn't it?
And the only reason we got out of Somalia is because Clintoon's poor plan resulted in our forces getting their butts handed to them (after being dragged behind trucks). Had Clinton not cut and run, we'd likely still be in Somalia today with many thousands more troops dead than what we've lost in Iraq.
I wasn't old enough to care yet. And 911 hadn't happened. Corruption wasn't so obvious and out in the open. I would have complained then, if I was aware when 8 years ago, but alas I think teenage girls were the only thing I was interested in at the time.
From a fellow Buffalonian to another, I whole-heartedly agree with your reply to this ridiculous deja-vu of our lovely president being a fuckup. Our First Ammendment right gives us the power to overthrow our government if the American people see fit. How come we haven't yet?
This is one of the finest statements I've heard on the current situation and so completely sums up my own feelings that I can't believe it. I was just stunned by this person's comments. He's abolutely right, we need to be organized, to demand that we get past partisan politics and take back the country from these thugs. I am outraged and heartbroken and impeachment and prosecution needs to start immediately. Why isn't congress doing this? They are culpable if they do not.
I like how you resort to name calling because you are frustrated with the reality of the situation and try to aviod it by being immature. Thank you that only puts a smile on my face
The only thing I'm frustrated with is the impotent caterwauling of the accusation whores like Slobbermann. The accused President Bush of the stealing the 2000 election, but took no action. They accused him of illegally invading Iraq, but took no action. They accused him of killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, but took no action. They accused him of stealing the 2004 election, but took no action. And now the situation with Libby.
Oh, and you know what? When they did take action and tried to provide proof, the proof turned out to be bogus (e.g. Dan Blather's "fake, but accurate" TANG memo released days before the 2004 election).
Yes, he should. You hypocrites hold Clinton to one standard and then turn around and criticize President Bush based on another standard. Libby's pardon may be questionable, but presidents have the Constitutional authority to pardon anyone at any time for any reason. Clinton had many questionable pardons, too, and he was criticized for them, but we NEVER called for impeachment over them like you liberals are doing now. Hypocrisy: it's not just a trait of liberals, it's a requirement.
You're right...impeachment wasn't called for Clinton based on pardons. He was impeached because he committed adultery. PLEASE - don't speak about double standards.
He's hardly anyone's golden boy. The point I was trying to make is that no one is innocent- neither side. The "outraged liberals" simply feel that they are little by little losing their voice to object to authority, and while, yes, this was PERFECTLY legal there is something almost laughable about the fact that Paris Hilton will have spent more time in jail than this man.
Republicans tried to impeach bush over a blow job? I was like wtf? Are they serious? And you ask questions wether or not its moraly just to impeach over lies that lead to war and so on and so forth. Get a grip, Murder, War and fearmongering is far worse than a little hanky panky, let alone a Blow Job. Next you say you wanted to impeach cause of a handjob.. solo...
I got that number from the Iraq body count and even according to that the number I gave was lower stop calling me libral because I'm being more american than both by admitting that there needs to be chang and ignoring party lines to insight people to notice its not one party line thats doing it.
You'll get change. In about one year and six months, you'll get change. And then you can obsessively accuse the next Republican president of imaginary crimes, too.
Yes yes we hear that. What happens if we think like the neo cons. What if there is no election, but instead military in the streets? What then? Is this what you want to wait for? It wont happen you say? Can you prove it wont happen? You cant prove it, ah that means it WILL happen? Wake up, assumed Guilty before proven innocent.. insanity!
It didn't happen in 2004 like you clowns said it would. Why would it happen in 2008? You think you know "neocons," but you don't. All you have is your bizarre, mustache twirling caricatures that you've concocted on your impotent little websites. I suggest you keep your delusional fantasies confined to your dreams.
Im talking about their ideology, their mindset. If we adopt the same, we can and must assume the worst possible outcome to be the most likely event to occur, and then take actions to prevent it.
Hey, you got your liberal talking point about the number of Iraqi dead wrong. Don't you read the Lancet? A few months ago, it was 600k. That's up from 100k in their previous claim. I'm sure their next claim will probably be in the millions.
Hey, genius. You're bitching about President Bush and the Constitution and yet YOU LIBERALS are the ones who want the Constitution to be a "living document." Patriot Act? Well, that's all about the Constitution being a "living document!" Military Act? Again, that's from the Constitution being a "living document." How do you know what our Constitution stands for when you guys are always changing what it stands for?
The "reality of the situation" is that people like you and Slobbermann have been accusing President Bush and VP Cheney of committing crimes since November of 2000. In over 6 and a half years, you've done nothing but accuse. And that's all you can do. You cannot prove your accusations because there is no proof. Until you can back your accusations, please, just sit down and shut up.
The Reality, as you put it: The neo con thinking. "We assume the worst of anyone, and take steps to prevent the worst from happening. Proof is not needed as they cannot prove their innocence. We assume that everyone is capable of evil deeds, therefore we must prevent them from occuring." (Minority Report, wo/foresight)
Good Comment! The British have owned the United States since the 1930's. Bush is in collusion with wealthy families from England. Tony Blair has not been assisting America but instead helped steer America to undo the constitution.
Outstanding! The only way we can really do what you have asked is to allow Pelosi to be our leader! We should be patient and then do not vote into office incumbents. These people, Democrats or Republicans have lost what is important to America! They are only out for their own self interest.
Nice bong in the background dude. You have been smoking too much weed. Ha Ha (Nice touch begging us to do what is right...how about you...stop smoking pot Spidey....your brain is fried)

USA that ban pretty much everything out of ignorance. Educate yourself mate. And stop this hypocracy. Boobs are bad, mutilation is Sweet?! WTF?
It is about policy....a policy you don't like. Were you alive when Nixon was in office....how you can compare Bush to Nixon is amazing. What Kool Aid have you been drinking man? Get real....real quick. You are a nut job.
Support our troops!! Demand that they come home now! Demand they stop using depleted uranium !! It is poisioning our troops!! No more lost lives to protect oil reserves!! Look at a map of the bases in Iraq...they are right along the pipelines.
Ok I watched the video, I read the responces, and it is clear that the majority of us want change. But I'm only 14 years old and I don't know how to start. I need someone to tell me how to contribute to making America a better place for all of us...demoncrates and republicans beacuse posting comments on youtube doesn't seem like a huge effort. Someone please help me out here...help America out.
Keith Olberman seemingly has forgotten the 211 presidential pardons Clinton granted in the last 9 weeks in office, and the 121 on his final day of office? Olberman is a windbag. Listening to him wax philosophic about democracy and war makes me puke. I am a US soldier, and don't need some liberal toad eulogizing my service....we are volunteers. So just shut the fuck up and sleep quietly under the blanket of freedom and security provided by better men than yourselves, non serving liberals.
Who cares what Clinton did? This is not a "who can do worse contest?" And your sorry ass does need someone to look out for you. Someone who keeps those who order your ass to war in check. It's fucking obvious that you've been putting your life on the for no good reason. But you don't see that, that's why you're in the military.
Also, "shut the fuck up" doesn't sound like something you would say if you had the slightest bit of interest in "fighting for freedom". Long live the voice of the American people.
For a Good Time, see my video, Bob Dylan's MASTERS of WAR (done to the 1963 tune), and my extensive MASTERS of WAR website (address at the end of the vid)
"This administration and the previously Republican-controlled legislature have been the most caustic agents against America's Armed Forces in memory."
(cont.)
Less than a year ago, the Republicans imposed great hardship on the Army and Marine Corps by their failure to pass a necessary funding language. (cont.)
Clinton, Clinton, Clinton. "But Clinton did it!" Yeah, Clinton was a slimy Republican Light. Happy now? But ity's like the difference between John Dillinger and Hitler---who would YOU choose (I guess I already know the answer)
They're trying to take away my guns and murder STEM CELLS! They want queers to protect us from the A-rabs!
Talk about tiresome...
So what do you think of Kevin Tillman's "After Pat's Birthday"?
You disgusting perverted liberals cry crocodile tears for the deaths of our volunteer soldiers yet you are the biggest champions for the murder of the innocent unborn.
Clinton, Clinton, Clinton. "But Clinton did it!" Yeah, Clinton was a slimy Republican Light. Happy now? But ity'ds like the difference between John DSillionger and Hitler---who would YOU choose (I guess I alreadey know the answer)
They're trying to take away my guns and murder STEM CELLS! They want queers to protect us from the A-rabs!
You know, you rerdcoats and your beloved King George are going down---you're headed for Nixonville, and somewhere in that dim, dark skull-cave of yours, you know it. The military and Bush's own party are revolting faster now, and he WILL go down as the biggest disaster ever to squat in the whitehouse.
Is EVERYBODY a "fag" to you? You know, that's often a sign of repressed you-know-what...
And for an 85 year-old man, you have a very teenage-locker room mentality.
I know I don't have right to an opinion in your Soviet America, because I've never 'served', but I think you'd find my introductory 'essay' on my website, MASTERS OF WAR interesting reading.
" "I firmly believed that we should not march into Baghdad. To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, TURNING THE WHOLE ARAB WORLD AGAINST US and make a broken tyrant into a latter day Arab hero. Assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a secretly entrenched dictator and CONDEMNING THEM TO FIGHT what would be an UNWINNABLE urban guerilla war."
You leftist shits talk about "our liberties" and the Constitution yet are the same ones trying to take away our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights. Gun control and the "Fairness Doctrine"? You liberal socialist pukes make me sick.
Outstanding vlog! The ones that love their country the most expect the most out of their leadership and the nation's policies. When the leaders are failing, like Bush/Cheney, true patriots voice their decent and true cowards try to defend the party line like loyalist red coats. You honor and echo the fight the founding fathers were willing to die for.
If there are any Stalinists out there, it's the Bush regime. They're fast turning the USA into Cold War USSR.--spying on the people, prison without trial at the whim of the dictator, arbitrary abrogation of the Rule of Law, Habeus Corpus & the Bill of Rights, massive millitary spending while the country's infrastructure crumbles, etc.,etc.,etc., We can't all be winners like them, or Joe Stalin, or you. Maybe if we killed a few hundred thousand innocent people...
You leftists are so tiresome. Where were you when Bill Clinton was crapping on the "rule of law"? Probably his biggest cheerleader. Fucking hypocrite.
Asknotaxe can you seriously stand behind your president now? Even now when he blatently spits in the face of justice and allow people to get away with breaking the law?! This is bigger than gay marriage or children left behind... Bush is the biggest gangster since Al Capone...
Keith Olberman seemingly has forgotten the 211 presidential pardons Clinton granted in the last 9 weeks in office, and the 121 on his final day of office? Olberman is a windbag. Yet another idiot with no facts spouting off at the mouth. Whats wrong little man? Are you afriad of something? Is it our government? Well I have to tell you something, it isn't our govt. you should be afriad of.
Exactly my point, your lack of respect for the office shows your childish mentality. If you have an issue with policy, I would be happy to discuss facts and issues, but calling people names and talking about feelings get us nowhere.
The Facts are that both Bush & cheney are the crooks here and your right i don't respect them...Have they done anything to earn it i don't think so! Listen Pal i lost two younger brothers in dam war! ok SO TELL ME what the facts are!! those are the only facts i know OK??????????
Again, what facts do you have to support this claim of thievery? And which war are you speaking of, the current war or a past war? Either way, if you are telling the truth, god bless them for their service and their willingness to VOLUNTEER to join to defend the nation.
I agree with you 100%, and it gives me a good feeling to see a young man like yourself take a stand. I'm an old 'ex-retired' political activist who's actually gone out and distributed dvd's( loose change ) to people face to face. One kid called me a communist for questioning shrub! Keep it up and don't lose heart!
Hillary is just as bad... we need to get over this pointing the finger at the other party BS and recognize what is truly happening. Our United states spirit is under attack from both parties in order to gain power and money. The fist person that I have seen that dismembers the current agendas and stands for the constitution as it reads is Dr. Ron Paul.
Hillary's campaign manager David Rosen, was just indicted in L.A. for falsely reporting campaign contributions. She's a massive pathological liar even worse than Bubba. Shall we relive the 90's media circus x ten and elect her? Hell NO!
Why did Sandy Berglar suddenly give up his law license? Gee, it couldn't be because he was caught destroying Clinton's memos proving him responsible for 9/11, now could it? Oh, nooo, we're all supposed to be too stupid to figure that out. Dems are always making laws they never abide by. It's the powerful vs. the peasants.

very impressive this guy, lots of heart.

And when they say, "You know. I'd really like to do that, but we'll never get 67 Senators to convict," remind them that the Republican Senate was solidly behind Nixon until the House impeached and the evidence started rolling in.
wildwilly1111 4 years ago

In 10/2002, U.S. House & Senate voted overwhelmingly to give Pres. Bush broad authority to use force against Iraq. On 11/8/02 there was a unanimous vote by the UN Security Council requiring Iraq to demonstrate that it is disarming its weapons of mass destruction or face serious consequences. UN then sent a team of weapons inspectors to Iraq to verify Iraqi compliance w/this resolution, known as UN Resolution 1441.
beejereeno 4 years ago
Furhermore, yes you are right that only congress can "declare war" technically speaking, however the U.S. Supreme Court has determined that the president, as commander-in-chief of the military, does have the authority to recognize a "state of war" initiated against the United States and may in these circumstances unilaterally send U.S. troops into battle. Pres. Bush's powers as commander-in-chief allow him to act independently in defense of the nation. So there.
beejereeno 4 years ago
Bush is NOT currently acting independently in defense of the US. Our involvement in Iraq is currently a policing action in support of the recognized Iraqi government. Major combat operations in Iraq ended April 30. 2003. "Mission Accomplished"

Bush's ratings are a low of 29% give or take. The democrat Congress is the lowest ever recorded--14%. That tells a story, I think.
KamikazeKoscki 4 years ago

Then maybe we can stop bickering long enough to remember the fact that our allegiance is to our rights and our countries legacy and not to our pride or our party.
jeffro0685 4 years ago
people who think this country should be ran by the 10 cammandments instead of the constitution have a serious lack of intelegence.
oldhacks 4 years ago
In my experience a lot of people like that are people who have spent there entire lives living with a certain mindset, and for them to change ANY of their beliefs would mean admitting that what they've devoted their whole lives to something that has been, at least to some degree, a waste of time. And I think that's a terrifying thought for them. It's an issue of holding on to pride. When a person can't let go of old ideas and conclusions to make way for new ones there can never be change.
jeffro0685 4 years ago
The Declaration of Independence has been invalid since the Constitution was written. The reason we wrote the Constitution was that the DoI gave all the power to the states and no power to the federal government. The DoI was a joke and didn't work...stop quoting it. The only thing it is good for now is to look pretty in a museum and make for a crappy storyline in a Nicholas Cage movie.
jpiccion 4 years ago
Neither party is better than the other, we have curruption in both. Just because you belong to one party doesn't mean that you should ignore the wrong doings of fellow members of that party. Once again country comes first, our constitution comes first, law comes first.
sp1dermanI7 4 years ago
Its so funny how the fingers are still being pointed.. Your loyalty should not be to party but to country some how we have lost that along the way in american history.. I just hope that policies like the patriot act open more people's eyes to this realization.... Both democrat and republican alike.. both libral and conservative... both voted for this act.. stop pointing fingers and recognize where your responsiblity and your loyalty really stands
sp1dermanI7 4 years ago
this guy is exactly right. please, please people. forget partisan issues, the president should not be above the law. this is just one step closer to a dictatorship and the loss of our "freedom" that i hear is supposed to be so important in this country.
montewithGSO 4 years ago
I would forget partisan issues if the Democrats hadn't made this into a partisan issue to begin with. That's the only reason they have to complain about Libby's pardon. There was absolutely nothing illegal about it. Should President Bush have consulted with the Justice Dept. before issuing the pardon? Maybe. I don't really know or care. What I do know is that consulting with them is not required and not doing so it not a crime.
JMcH 4 years ago
All this event does is exemplify the frustrations of a group of people who feel that their right to dissent and take action against authority is being smothered by this administration. I think that EVERYONE can agree that changes in this country need to be made, and that these changes can never be brought about as long as the American people are as divided as they are. Its almost like we've all pledged an unquestionable allegiance to our respective "team".
jeffro0685 4 years ago
The devout political affiliations are fracturing our confidence in our ability to accomplish anything and gradually making open-minded discussion of current events slightly taboo. Just look at some of the discussion that has arisen from both sides on this comment post. I mean- if a "YouTube post" can bring about this level of animosity between complete strangers don't you think that's some sort of a sign that American people just might be taking the wrong approach the issues of this country?
jeffro0685 4 years ago
However, you are absolutely right when it comes to the legality of Libby's pardon. But you said yourself that Libby's pardon "was questionable". I think the main point of liberals is that this is just one of many instances where President Bush has undermined the democratic process by taking more power into his own hands (even though, YES, the pardon was legal). I'm not saying you should agree, just ask that you understand where people of opposing viewpoints were actually coming from.

boonetrey 4 years ago
Errrr Clintons pardons are waaaaay different. He didn't just pardon his buddies and even pardons he delivered followed DUE PROCESS as dictated by LAW Clinton followed the LAW and they DID time. President Bush has pardoned fewer people than most Presidents in history. So if your going to start using the phrase for country, no politics, and for the betterment of our country. None of you complained about President Clinton sent troops into places like Bosnia and Somalia without first having Congress declare war. None of you complained when President Clinton bombed Iraq, Bosnia and that aspirin factory in Sudan (iirc) without Congress first declaring war.
So why are you complaining now?
JMcH 4 years ago
President Clinton also got us the hell out of those wars before we lost over 3,000 soldiers.
Total deaths between those you listed were 176.
Total casualties were a mere 751.
As well, the longest of those engagements, Somalia, was less than half the length of the iraq war.
Pirateking89 4 years ago
lol! We've never gotten out of Bosnia, fool. We're still there! By liberals' definition, that's a quagmire, isn't it?
And the only reason we got out of Somalia is because Clintoon's poor plan resulted in our forces getting their butts handed to them (after being dragged behind trucks). Had Clinton not cut and run, we'd likely still be in Somalia today with many thousands more troops dead than what we've lost in Iraq.

sp1dermanI7 4 years ago
The only thing I'm frustrated with is the impotent caterwauling of the accusation whores like Slobbermann. The accused President Bush of the stealing the 2000 election, but took no action. They accused him of illegally invading Iraq, but took no action. They accused him of killing hundreds of thousands of Iraqis, but took no action. They accused him of stealing the 2004 election, but took no action. And now the situation with Libby.
JMcH 4 years ago
Oh, and you know what? When they did take action and tried to provide proof, the proof turned out to be bogus (e.g. Dan Blather's "fake, but accurate" TANG memo released days before the 2004 election).
JMcH 4 years ago
WAAAA Clinton did it so Bush should be allowed to do it....waaaaaa
gjohntheterrible 4 years ago
Yes, he should. You hypocrites hold Clinton to one standard and then turn around and criticize President Bush based on another standard. Libby's pardon may be questionable, but presidents have the Constitutional authority to pardon anyone at any time for any reason. Clinton had many questionable pardons, too, and he was criticized for them, but we NEVER called for impeachment over them like you liberals are doing now. Hypocrisy: it's not just a trait of liberals, it's a requirement.
JMcH 4 years ago
You're right...impeachment wasn't called for Clinton based on pardons. He was impeached because he committed adultery. PLEASE - don't speak about double standards.
jeffro0685 4 years ago
No, Clinton was impeached because he LIED UNDER OATH. Stop trying to rewrite history to cover up your golden boy's embarrassing record.
JMcH 4 years ago
He's hardly anyone's golden boy. The point I was trying to make is that no one is innocent- neither side. The "outraged liberals" simply feel that they are little by little losing their voice to object to authority, and while, yes, this was PERFECTLY legal there is something almost laughable about the fact that Paris Hilton will have spent more time in jail than this man.
jeffro0685 4 years ago
Republicans tried to impeach bush over a blow job? I was like wtf? Are they serious? And you ask questions wether or not its moraly just to impeach over lies that lead to war and so on and so forth. JMcH 4 years ago
read the policy and once again don't fall into the trap of blaming "librals" or "conservatives" just realize the reality of the situation.
sp1dermanI7 4 years ago
The "reality of the situation" is that people like you and Slobbermann have been accusing President Bush and VP Cheney of committing crimes since November of 2000. The military and Bush's own party are revolting faster now, and he WILL go down as the biggest disaster ever to squat in the whitehouse.

That's all you have ......that pickle smooching democrat general? I'll bet like most flaming liberal faggots.....you never served a day in your life.

Is EVERYBODY a "fag" to you? You know, that's often a sign of repressed you-know-what...
And for an 85 year-old man, you have a very teenage-locker room mentality.
I know I domn't have right to an opibnion in your Soviet America because

I know I don't have right to an opinion in your Soviet America, because I've never 'served', but I think you'd find my introductory 'essay' on my website, MASTERS OF WAR interesting reading.
It begins with "I have never served my country."

Here's one from ANOTHER "pickle smooching fag":
" "I firmly believed that we should not march into Baghdad. To occupy Iraq would instantly shatter our coalition, TURNING THE WHOLE ARAB WORLD AGAINST US and make a broken tyrant into a latter day Arab hero. Assigning young soldiers to a fruitless hunt for a secretly entrenched dictator and CONDEMNING THEM TO FIGHT what would be an UNWINNABLE urban guerilla war."
- George H.W. Bush, 1992

You leftist shits talk about "our liberties" and the Constitution yet are the same ones trying to take away our 1st and 2nd Amendment rights. Gun control and the "Fairness Doctrine"? You liberal socialist pukes make me sick.
Fergus1922 4 years ago
Outstanding vlog! The ones that love their country the most expect the most out of their leadership and the nation's policies. When the leaders are failing, like Bush/Cheney, true patriots voice their decent and true cowards try to defend the party line like loyalist red coats. You honor and echo the fight the founding fathers were willing to die for.

Another little Stalinist puke. Get a fuckin' job you loser.
Fergus1922 4 years ago
If there are any Stalinists out there, it's the Bush regime. They're fast turning the USA into Cold War USSR.--spying on the people, prison without trial at the whim of the dictator, arbitrary abrogation of the Rule of Law, Habeus Corpus & the Bill of Rights, massive millitary spending while the country's infrastructure crumbles, etc.,etc.,etc., We can't all be winners like them, or Joe Stalin, or you. Maybe if we killed a few hundred thousand innocent people...
avatar723 4 years ago
You leftists are so tiresome. Where were you when Bill Clinton was crapping on the "rule of law"? Probably his biggest cheerleader. Fucking hypocrite.
Fergus1922 4 years ago
Asknotaxe can you seriously stand behind your president now? Even now when he blatently spits in the face of justice and allow people to get away with breaking the law?! This is bigger than gay marriage or children left behind... Bush is the biggest gangster since Al Capone...

I agree with you 100 percent Bush is changing the constitution not by amending but by deamending it your right bud

Yet another idiot with no facts spouting off at the mouth. Whats wrong little man? Are you afriad of something? Is it our government? Well I have to tell you something, it isn't our govt. you should be afriad of.

Nice comment. what are you, 15?

No...Are you?
robt64 4 years ago
Well an intelligent adult can have a discoussion without the childish name calling, think you can handle that?
filmfx66 4 years ago
I was not callin you a dick!!...I meant your Vice pres!!!
robt64 4 years ago
Exactly my point, your lack of respect for the office shows your childish mentality. If you have an issue with policy, I would be happy to discuss facts and issues, but calling people names and talking about feelings get us nowhere.
filmfx66 4 years ago
The Facts are that both Bush & cheney are the crooks here and your right i don't respect them...Have they done anything to earn it i don't think so! Listen Pal i lost two younger brothers in dam war! ok SO TELL ME what the facts are!! those are the only facts i know OK??????????
robt64 4 years ago

Ron Paul.
sp1dermanI7 4 years ago
