  • Everyone has the right to identify however they like even if they white identifying as black or black identifying as white. But that don't make it right. Only embracing a part of yourself is denying the other part is your heritage, is your genetics, is whom you are. I don't approve of those who don't love thy whole selves including that white part.

  • Race is a social construct & hierarchy, if you look at how it's been set up, FACT, white people place themselves at the top, people who are biracial can be considered EITHER black OR biracial but not white UNLESS they are passing. It is up to the individual & their experience to decide if & how they identify, not everyone else. If we want to fool ourselves we are free to do so but we have to remember that society will impose itself regardless. FACT

  • No, my problem is with white aussies who think they have insight into africans in america just because they jerk off to Beyonce.

Why can't they just worry about their own issues of "second class citizenship" since they are living under the tyrannical dominion & genocide of the Aboriginal majority ruling class that rules over them & stole their lands?

  • "they are not considering us." so true.

  • question: at 2:58 why do you care so much what white people think about biracials? Why is their opinion so important to you?

  • You say white people only see biracial people as black, I say BULLSHIT! I see biracial people as biracial. Halle Berry went on about how she's the first African American woman to get an Oscar and that pissed me off. She's NOT black she's biracial. I believe If you were not born or raised in Africa then you have no right to label yourself as African. I have only watched the view once, they were talking about affirmative action and I liked what Elisabeth Hasselbeck had to say plus she's hot.

  • Oh well I believe that if you are not black or biracial then you have no right to tell us how to label ourselves.

  • Blacks have no more right to label biracial people than whites do. Biracial does NOT mean black! And whether you like labels or not, if you parents are of different races then you ARE biracial and you can't escape that. Just because you have a problem with white people does not mean ALL biracial people have problems with whites.

  • that is one thing about whites that annoy me. right up until obama became known to the world. a mixed person mixed with black, was seen ONLY as black. whites made no fuss over how they claimed themselves, nor were there mixed of 2 races choices on applications.

its not until obama comes along white change the rules again...they did it, cause they want to discredit him, and take claim at his successes.

im mulatto myself. so i should know.

  • yeah I talk about that until I'm blue in the face to, it just really fucking bothers me that people can be so evil.

  • In 2000 the census was changed to allow you to select more than one race. Correct me if I wrong but Obama won the election in 2008, 8 years later. Lets just be honest the thingthat changed was when white women really started having biracial kids and raising them in their white culture giving biracial people a real connection to their white heritage. It's not so easy to look at your mom who birthed you and raised you and say your heritage is not mine.

  • Black people aren't the race that menally and phisically abuse their kids and we aren't the only race that that has single parents. But we are the ones that the media talks about most. When you said the black people don't have the luxury of letting out children run wild/free like most white people. That's very true! A white child screams in the store and you might say he's bad. A mixed child, he is so cute mom give him the candy. A black child, he is so ghetto, with no home training.

  • this is my thing, yes, when the going gets tuff and the tough gets going, but sometimes that anger can be misdirected, and the children end up being the victim, which sucks, but you cant really blame it on stupid ass white people and their gay faggot laws, at the end of the day its the parents fault for agreeing with the negativity placed on them, white people can remain stupid, but i think black people should continuously improve themselves, and i know alot have already through the years

  • cause she s a racist bitch, obvioulsy lol , personally i think alicia keys and the rest of those biracial stars came to fame cause of their whiteness, no doubt, i dont know about the other shit, but i know that it played apart, cause white people are obsessed with people that dont look like you , so stupid i know, but thats white people

  • If someone can make someone else like Elisabeth Hasselbeck, they must be really horrible

  • :) I guess I'm one of the 'cool white people out there' who just stumbled upon your videos.

  • Wow you are very respectable, I don't say that about very many people even friends. If you know of any other site I might be able to read comments from people with something to say please feel free to let me know.

  • I didn't watch that episode of The View but hopefully there are some clips of it on YouTube. Just because a biracial person is embracing their blackness doesn't mean they are disowning their whiteness. Same thing vice versa. When people can't understand that concept the only thing left is to pray for them because explanations can only go so far.

  • I never listen to Ann. She has built a career based on being ignorant and braodcasting opinions that she knows will be obtuse and offensive - but will put her in the spotlight. She is nothing more than the weak bully in the schoolyard in need of attention. Don't waste your time feeling offended by her. While she positions herself as "educated", she is ignorant.

  • by the way, you are so much better with your curly hair. Beautifull

  • Bonjours. Have you noticed that even though you claim to be biracial (and you are)and you know the white community better than the black, you tend to critisize more the blacks than the whites? for whites you use words like goverment, the society etc, which makes their critisizm less obvious. :o). I guess it is normal but i wonder if you are aware of it? Merci

  • i've heard the same thing from white girls. I'm mixed and I had 2 friends growing up who used to come over my house and all they wanted to do was look at my and my siblings baby pics because they wanted biracial babies so bad....and they both ended up with them

  • I agree with you being biracial is difficult whether you live in an all black, white or an interracial community

What annoys me the most are ignorant people who are only in interracial relationships to have biracial children

  • The first part of your video I think that is called pulling the race card and hope some day it will not be necessary

  • I thought the same thing when watching The View...white people didn't even claim mulattos!! I CANNOT STAND Ann Coulter ...and she looks and sounds like a man. I doubt she could ever birth any babies so that's why she's going hard on single mothers!! lol

  • You sort of brought back some memories that I experienced, especially remembering when my foster mother and adopted mother would call me the n word(nigger) in the car at 8 and nine years old when I was crying in the back seat of the car and did'nt want to go over to visit the grandparents or relatives house or if I was in the mall or store and she was looking for me becaus I had wondered off

  • Not only should children not be swear at but also should not hear any swear words coming from their parents mouths. Thank you for saying what you said I see that so often and it hurts me to see a child getting treated like that. But since there are hardly any black people where I live, I only see white people doing that.

  • I agree with that too, it's more of a general deficiency in quality parenting than a specific problem amongst one particular group, there are no perfect parents to be fair, it's a thankless job anyway however good a parent one is, I think TIffany has a bit of a point, there is a degree extra element of this "children property" mentality within the black community but it's not by any means always the case and it exists in some white families too, frankly it's not a very clear cut issue.

  • This biracial stuff is getting out of hand and ridiculus, your fine just the way you are.

  • I completely agree with you about adult moms having grown up arguements with their little kids. This just goes to show how simple minded some people can be. You cannot argue with a kid like they understand everything you might tell them. You have to address them as kids cause thats what they are.

  • I dont care for Ann coulter. Half the time she writes about things she has never experienced and never will. However, I found myself more annoyed with the ladies of The View than with Ann. They never let her finish a sentence and when she did come up with a good point someone jumped in with a snide comment and then quickly changed the subject. If these ladies invited Ann to the show to talk about her book and opinions then they need to let her do just that. Talk.

  • Wow, I'm surprised that you got this so wrong. I 2 have seen some parents say crazy mess to their kids publically, but I've heard it from non-Black parents 2. Making it a Black thing is a big stereotype, like thinking that its part of Black culture to beat kids, or that all White kids talk back to their parents. Regardless of race, I've seen impoverished, less educated folks do that in public 2 their kids. Believe me, if it were a Black thing I'd say so. But verbally abusing kids has no race.

  • word. thats why i couldn't cosign that part. thats a bad parent thing not a black thing. its alot of bad parents.

i've seen alot of white families that just had me in AWE (from kid to parent) and not just the impoverished ones either, "nice" upper middle class families too.

but overall i don't feel like whites raise their kids ANY better. thats why i can't cosign it.

  • Let me start by saying that I don't like Ann Coulter. But I gotta say that they didn't give her enough time to explain herself. I think that her whole view on biracial celebrities was hogwash, but I want to hear her flawed logic. I think that the ladies jumped on her w/o giving her a chance to hang herself.

  • i never knew anybody that didn't think halle berry was anything BUT black. esp when she first came out.

this ain't nothing new, its alot of mixed ppl who are considered & consider themselves black no matter if they accept the other race or not. halle know the struggle, even mentioned in interviews how hard it was as a black woman to make it & what stereotypical roles they tried to give her in hollywood.

some of u might like the movie series she did "queen" abt a mulatto slave tho. nice!

  • or even Losing Isaiah...another one of my favs from halle. Boomerang too etc.

this was before halle let herself get slutted out on camera, in what i would consider not even one of her best movies, by bill bob thornton in Monster's Ball. and out of all the roles she ever played that were GREAT, she won an oscar for Monsters Ball?!?! smh

shes one of my favs but they played halle with that one.

  • For a while there the Academy Awards was owing folks some statues. Folks were getting Oscars for work that didn't match (see Denzel and Training Day, instead of Hurricane or Malcolm X). Halle just happened to be the first Black actress to win for yet another "Terms of Endearment" performance. She also got points for bravery...like the Oscar was a merit badge. LOL

  • Lovely... Well put and certainly agreed with. :) *BEST

  • You just changed the words I used without evidence. Your statement holds no value. My evidence is the whole ANN COULTER interview I was stating my oppinion about hers and others that I know, actions.

THis is a huge reason why the communication gap between our cultures is so wide, Instead of talking about the problems we to often attack as a defensive mechanism. Which in turn stops the progress and often widens that communication gap. SO PLEASE GET ME...

  • I love your hair! It's gorgeous!

  • Another reason that a person might make an attempt to bond with an absent parent is because of the "prodigal son" issue. The father goes out looking for his lost son...not that he doesn't appreciate the son that is home doing the right thing. There are so many stories about children longing for a parent that left..either mother or father. Ann Coulter is too busy attention seeking to look any deeper then race. Like you I also found myself almost liking EH...

  • I'm really surprised. I didn't realize most of your subscribers were either black or white friends. I'm a white person from the UK and I don't really know any black people in real life at all because there aren't many living in my area. I just stumbled across your videos one day and found them interesting.

I recently watched the FX TV show Black.White. on YouTube and part of it features some young black people talking about being treated harshly by their parents like you were talking about.

  • don't know many blacks in real life huh?

well i must say, you should get to know them sometime. we have alot of beautiful women & alot wonderful people. people can/have learned alot from them.

    gotta love black folks lol

  • Thanks for your reply. It's funny - I've had loads of conversations with black people in lots of different countries on sites like YouTube, but hardly said a word in real life!

  • Great vlog!

  • -I agree with Ann on the biracial situation. Halle should've have left out the " This is for the black people" in her speech. It really didn't make much sense to me. Being that I don't see her as a black woman.

I believe a lot of biracial people lean towards BP for the wrong reasons. Just as BP lean toward BRP for the wrong reason. In the men time WP don't give a f*ck...about being black or biracial.

    - You're so on point with the kid/parent situation.

  • I think the reason Halle mentioned black women in her speech is because she probably in past hadn't gotten certain roles because she is viewed as a black woman. She knows there are such few roles for women who look like her. and also because she she was the first woman with any known african ancestry to win the best actress award.

  • it made alot of sense to alot of other ppl...

and you're entitled to your opinion but alot of other ppl (including herself) see her as black.

and even though, i don't see how she got an oscar for that movie (which she was good in), when she had MUCH better roles & pictures than that in the past (which she didn't recieve oscars 4), it was still nice 2 see her & denzel pick up a couple oscars.

  • it's definitely a lower social class problem. i was the only kid in school with a mom who didn't beat me regularly. and i see history repeating itself. a lot of teenage/young moms in my neighborhood have taken on that same negative behavior. they will scream at and/or hit their 2 year olds for something as minute as tripping. it really sickens me to see that behavior and to know that the cycle is just going to continue.

  • i live in a predominantly black/latino neighborhood on the lower end of the social scale. abusive parents are the least of the problems around here (gangs, regular shootings, HIGH drop out rates, teen pregnancies, etc).

i attribute the parental issues and the other problems to a general lack of education. this would happen to any culture under the same circumstances.

that's why i've gone to great lengths (and got terribly harassed for it) to avoid falling into this way of life.

  • Shincuppy, you're doing a lot of generalizing in that statement. Perhaps you've met people of color who hold negative views of white folks, but an anecdote is not indicative of some sort of trend. I'm black, I know a lot of black people, and I can most certainly say that the majority of us minorities do not have negative/nasty views about the majority/white folks.

  • LMAO! ALMOST liking Elizabeth! Now thats funny!

  • tiffdjones, nothing againt you personally but ann c was right (this coming from someone who never agrees with her), if these biracial celebs didnt embrace their black side they wouldnt be famous at all. and secondly, most black people try to put biracial people on some kind of pedestal due to their own self hatred, making it easier for them to excell against real black celebs in the media, and biracial people know this, on the other hand most whites dont think biracial people are special.

  • damn sorry I should wait before I comment lol. but to add...

the bad parenting I never see it as a race thing, it is most definitely a socio-economic-culture which I agree needs to be addressed and people need to be non-judgmentally educated to make the situation better

  • omg, I see the most horrible parenting here... (and in the line for the bus in Boston back to NYC). Especially on the subway it's just appalling and so sad.

  • aw :( well I'm glad I'm a "cool white person" lol that sounds so weird to me

I heard about that interview but haven't seen it. a friend of mine told me about it, she's friends with Alicia's mom and was soooo pissed heh

  • ann coulter makes me sick!

  • Hey girl,

    Great commentary, awesome video.

    Sonia

  • Its very funny how people that come from nice fine upstanding white communities always feel they now why minorities do what they do and ALWAYS have an oppinion about us. Your right not even worth sweat'n over it But always comment about their remarks because it will bring to light their ignorance.

  • What always comes to my mind is this question of power, "power corrupts" as they say, so I often wonder whether when any human regardless of their race is in a position of too much power over others whether they can help but abuse it??, I'm sure you've often heared some mono-racial black people claim..."we cannot be racist because we haven't got the power to be"...it's a fair point to make, however, are they really saying that IF they had power then they too WOULD be racist??, just a thought.

  • btw, nice 2 see you back tiff. keep up the good work. creating topics to continue the discussion that many of us need to take heed to. no matter if i disagree w/ some or agree w/ some, its things that definitely need to be spoken on & you speak on them. I respect ppl who question things & expand their minds on a journey 4 truth.

and I got a query for ya

has anybody you've known personally ever seen your video blogs & came at you like they didn't know you felt like that??

  • THE RULE CAN'T BE HALFASS!In addition, this not only applies to Blacks, it applies to all other people, people who are descendent of Native Americans or people who have Native American ancestery,ie, Mexicans, Puerto Ricans (they have a lot of Black, N.A. and Spanish (European) ancestery)Dominicans, etc. This would apply to the entire Latino group.

  • AMEN!

  • It's like if you're the president, then you can't possibly be Black and if you're Black, you can't possibly be president. People atribute a lot of positive traits, characteristics and qualities to presidents, many of which "Black people can't possibly have." Some of these are: being articulate, being smart/intelligent/being calm, kind, etc.

  • and i know you recall when joe biden caught controversy during the primary's for saying of obama "he's the first mainstream african american who is articulate, clean & bright"

i mean what the hell? lol

it truly & clearly shows the capacity of the ignorance & tainted perception of whites when it comes to blacks.

when i watched the presidential race, i can't tell you how many times it exposed the racial ignorance in this country. but its something all blacks have 2 fight through.

  • The race problem in this country is not a black problem or a white problem, it is all of our burdens. It is OUR problem to correct and modify!

  • thats true, but its usually the one who is on the lower end of the totem pole that has to try the hardest to break through. whites can make it in society & move up the ladder of success without ever having to deal with black people. black people can't do that... not in most cases. so as long as its like that i speak to us mainly cuz so many get discouraged. ultimately whites have to be able to open their eyes. but i'm not waiting on them & none of us should. we MUST do for ourselves.

  • look at obama, he made it AGAINST the odds. nobody expected to see a black man in office. he showed what intelligence, planning, and drive can do. he got to the highest office in the nation...he's already inspired alot of ppl to do better no matter what hurdles the opposing force might throw in your path, we still have 2 strive harder. even while america is still racially/culturally bias in alot of ways we have 2 continue to try & move forward as a ppl, and without selling out our people.

  • Ann Coulter writes a book once a month,so i dont see her work as quality,as for our president,-HE IS BLACK,he is also white.

  • lol @ black folks callin their kids "bitches" on the regular lol

i can't cosign that. if you heard somebody say that to their child thats a personal thing. not a culture thing. and its not looked at as a normal/acceptable thing to call your kids "bitches"

if you heard somebody constantly callin their children "bitches" thats a bad parent thing not a black thing, don't put it on the black community please.

its alot of irresponsible, verbally abusive & bad parents out there though.

  • It's interesting how conviently some Whites and others want to talk about race identity and all of a sudden have a "problem" with calling someone, who based off the race rules in our society, someone who has been perceived as black his whole life and MOST IMPORTANTLY, CALLS HIMSELF BLACK, Black and/or African American, etc.

  • yes, i agree. i never meet the whites who consider biracially mixed people just "biracial" as so to say that they feel any type of race claim to the person...

just like when barack was running u never heard white folks just embracing him as apart of them as well, it was only things conjured up to make it seem as if he wasn't like mainstream "them". he turned to this race "transcender" cuz the honest truth is race is still a big problem in alot of society & a constant fight to overcome it.

  • You're right! The question was not "is America ready for a "mixed race/biracial" president." The question was: "Is American ready for a "BLACK" president. So he's black before, while running for office, ya know, during the time he has to break racial stereotypes and during the time people were suggesting and EVEN CALLING HIM A TERRORIST AND A MUSLIM!

  • This was during the time where it was being suggested that he wasn't even BORN ON U.S. SOIL!He was Black then! But NOW, NOW THE HE HAS CLINCHED THE U.S. PRESIDENCY, some people all of a sudden, (conviently) don't want to call him Black and have a "sincere" desire to acknowledge his biracialness, his mixedraceness! WHY ALL OF A SUDDEN! Well I have some of my own theory as to why!

  • exactly

"Well I have some of my own theory as to why!"

    i bet

  • girl i was wondering where u were at on this issue... i posted my video and got a bunch of comments good and bad...either way i totally agree with what you said in this vid!

  • I knew you would "enjoy"...and I did notice how Elizabeth did not make me feel as sick as I usually get when I see her! Good job on clearing up vid.#70!! I love you 4 that!!! :)

  • Rearly do you ever hear of a first white person, or a first asian person, or even a firts latino person, but so often you hear the first black person. Oops, excuse me, we have to be politically correct, the first "African American person".

  • Yeah, maybe the government is trying to make the black populace a lower class, in some ways I think they have achieved that goal. The fact that we still use the term first african american, when ever a person of african descent achieves a monumental goal shows this. Its as if the mainstream is saying that their are very few people of color who have the intellect to reach such heights and achieve such success unless there some lame ass dumb rap star. I have to make a second part to this comment.

  • Honestly, Coulter doesn't come across as sincere when she discuss and explains her conservative views! She's nothing but a rabble rouser and an antagonizing-monger person.

  • You must always know the background, the history or something/anything before you can speak on it! You must and it's imperative that people be and stay informed. I talk about this all the time!!

  • So irritated, don't know what to do with myself sometimes, when I hear assinine, ignorant comments that people make in regards to race, race-baing, identity, especially, when it's comments that suggest that the person/people doesn't know the history of race and the history between Black and Whites in this country!!

  • Thank you, thank you so much for saying that! I've been hearing this similar comment from some Whites and my aunt told me about a simialr situation.

It was the WHITE establishment that told us, that said ANYBODY WITH BLACK BLOOD IS BLACK!! NO IF ANDS OR BUTS ABOUT IT!! Coulter is acting as though these people individually and single handedly chose to identify as black. It's interesting how people conviently forget that! It's like this situation can't win for losing!!

  • No offence to black people, I noticed that black mothers are more harse with there children like my mother she does it to make herself look cool to her black friends cause they think that is how you control your kids. The most famous thing I hear is " I brought you in this world I can take you out" I made myself promise that the crap my mother put me through with her Black form of discipline I would never do with my child, and the reason I say black form of discipline is because everytime I ask-

  • or made the statement that I wouldn't discipline my children by spanking them or yelling at them when there 2yrs old grabbing candy from the counter. She would say you do everything like white people when are you going to realize your black! Yet she is the one that says " I ain't no African I'm Indian". Different people have different ways of disciplining there kids but they need to remember that "Be careful because you'll depend on the kids one day". So do what is right!

  • Thank you for saying something that should be said. Adults sometimes disrespect children then turn around and wonder why the hell doesn't this child mind them. How can they? When all they know is insults and injury. People need to put themselves in the place of the child. All I know is that if my boss at work told me to "get the F up and do what I told you to do" I wouldn't do it. So if you tell you child to "get the F up and do what I told you to do" what makes you think they would?

  • then they wonder why when they get older why their children move away and NEVER talk to them

  • Ann Coulter is the true meaning of the word bitch.

  • Oh please! She wish she was a bitch. Don't put that loser off on the bitches of the world. LOL!

  • lmao...You R somethin' else, AtlantahSistah!!! :)

  • Ann Coulter is an idiot she could care less about what biracial people consider themselves she just wants to cause trouble. Now that Barack is president this topic probably will be brought up a lot more because white people will want claim part of him unless he sucks as president then he'll be black again. At least it will be discussed which what a lot of biracial people want.

  • I like this observation! I actually said something similar in a conversation. A couple of weeks ago, I spoke to my aunt and she told me about how she read in the newspaper(don't know which one) about some White people being upset that the media, the country, "we" call him "black," "African American,"etc.

My question is: Since when did a palpable group of White start caring about what to call people with Black blood? Since when did they care about "black people" being called black?

  • To me, it comes off as, once again, White people trying to control and determine who's black in this society, who can be black and who isn't. It seems to be that because THEY have a problem with how race has been constructed in this society that now WE MUST CHANGE BECAUSE SOME OF THEM ARE UNHAPPY AND HAVE A PROBLEM WITH IT!

  • Antebellum south, Jim Crow, Black Codes, slave laws/polies, does any of that ring a bell to these particular people. Do these things not inform how we think about and understand race, Blacks, Whites in this country. Surely is does! One only has to think about Obama trying to run in the '60s,for example, where Whites alls of sudden magically wanting to call him and understand him as "biracial," or "mixed" in the '60s! Give me a break! That's certainly, as it is now, preposterous!!

  • I would like to explore WHY some people ALL OF A SUDDEN don't want to refer to Obama as "black" or "African American." I have a difficult time believing that it's ONLY because he's mixed or biracial or ONLY because the country is becoming "progressive" and wants to move towards multiracialness and/or not pigeonholing people.

  • Well, at least in this case, if this is the argument for some people, the "progressiveness" of the country, then I would say, to only add to their argument that, since we're becoming more "progressive" then Obama should have the right to identify himself or have the right to self identification!

  • Anyway, to get on with my point, I think for some, to call a person who occupies the oval office, to call the president Black/African American is a problem for some. It doesn't fit into their schema, their box of perceptions, images and perconceived notions about Blacks.

  • I have another argument to make in regards to some people not wanting to call him black because he's half White or because he has a White mother. To those people who fall into this category, if you don't want to call him Black/African American, especially when he calls himself this, THEN every other Black person in this country with White blood or some degree, amount of White blood IS NO LONGER BLACK AND SHOULD NOT HAVE TO IDENTIFY AS SUCH!

  • It's a slippery slope, huh, yeah, I know, that's one of the reasons why I'm saying it! America will no longer have a Black community because MOST BLACKS (and when I say "most" I mean most)will be able to identify themselves as being mixed race or having mixed blood and mixed ancestery.

  • And it's not just White blood either, many Blacks have Native American blood too. If you're going to make a rule, an exception for one, then you make the rule FOR ALL!!!

  • Instead of being Mexican or Puerto Rican or Dominican, etc, they can claim and identify as multiracial, mixed race, which they rightfully are, like Blacks in the U.S., in Europe, in Asia, etc. I don't think Whites or the rest of this country is truly and TOTALLY ready to get rid of race and supplant it with cultural identity or multiracialness, mixed race identities!

  • ANN COULTER IS AN ENTERTAINER NOT TO BE VIEWED ANY OTHER WAY. she is just trying to sell books and controversy sell books. AND AS FOR HER APEARANCE SHE LOOKS LIKE A ALBINO SCARE CROW HANGING ONA A POLE IN A CORN FIELD SMOKING METH. BUT YOU ARE GORGEOUS AND IM NOT BEING SEXIST.

  • Umm...Damn, Firefox---LMAO!!!

  • You have no idea how much a hate Ann Cuntler.
