  • I think this guy is smoking crack.

  • This guy is fucking nuts.

  • THE 'MIRRORS' WE SEE IN NATURE ARE ILLUSIONS ...THERE ARE NO MIRRORS IN NATURE!

  • Mind boggling!

  • @beatlesnumber9 i agree. you're just more polite than i am at times =) we may lead a sheep to water, but we may not be able to encourage them to drink ... tee hee.

  • Ironically, science can only be done in the context of consciousness. No consciousness no science.

  • This is the strongest evidence for an after life I have ever heard

  • stuart hameroff is a great mind with the ability to use common words and metaphors to exlpain information that no one trully understands as they would then be able to solve these questions ... "you are either lying or crazy if you understand quantum physics" as he would say but dont stop trying to figure it out on the flip side

  • How to mind read?

Same information in anothers mind, plus correspondence, plus focus of other, plus whatever probability is.

  • Does this postulate that the universe is intelligent? That intuition, epiphany, awareness, intelligence, abstract thoughts, conceptions, ect... are consciousness that the brain is receiving from the plank scale?

  • @dougdof925 I think they are saying that a proto-consciousness exists everywhere, on the quantum level, and it makes sense.

  • This is, as Micheal Shermer says, woo woo

  • @Elififa Micheal Shermer is a nobody. He hasn't any scientific credentials. Orch-Or is something that Hameroff proposed together with Roger Penrose, for God's sake. Shermer is a magazine editor, and philosophy, metaphysics, epistemology, theoretical physics - wise, he's a clown.

  • @packe777. all this guy is doing is pretending to be an expert in something that he knows nothing about. He's a fucking Anesthesiologist for goodness sake. F*** why do I bother? why?

  • Comment removed

  • @Elififa That guy is a prof. of Psychology and associate director for the Center for Consciousness Studies. He works on ORCH-OR closely with Penrose, who has far greater credentials than Dawkins or Dennett who meddles into metaphysics, quantum mechanics; logic, and they are both tools on these topics. Not to mention that similar stances on consciousness holds someone like Paul Davies also, so i don't see why are you, as a layman, so upset over this. Maybe 'coz of it's philoso. implications...

  • @packe777. Yes. philosophy is a tool that is frequently misused, and this is one example of that. So yes I do hate philosophy. especially this kind of philosophy because it's woo woo.

  • @Elififa Not so because almost everything Hammeroff says can be verified scientifically as being accurate. :)

  • @Rockguitarnow. Give me one example of something that hammeroff says that's scientifically verifiable.

  • @Elififa Tons of things. The fact that non-quantum science has absolutely no explanation for what consciousness is, or where it comes from.

The fact that the supercomputer people are flat out wrong when they theorize that consciousness can be created within computers once computers become fast enough.

  • @Rockguitarnow. And where's the science behind what you just said?

  • @Elififa the scientifically verifiable fact that Hammerhoff's hanging a lot, if not all, of his quantum consciousness theories on is that crazy little thing called quantum entanglement.

From the results of this scientifically verifiable experiments one might conclude that at the moment of the big bang (a not so scientifically verifiable "fact" I'm sure you have come to "believe" in) every thing was entangled.

I hope you understand the fundaMENTAL (pun intended) logic in his conclusions?

  • /hyperseauton You are clearly a fan of this guy's work. I, however, smell bullshit. His ego seems to cloud his ability to be objective. But I'll admit, I don't understand nearly enough about the quantum world to argue about this topic. And I doubt you do either. I'm critical of his ability to teach. Not so good.

  • Hameroff is THE man.

  • WOW

  • He does a good job of putting it simply. It seems that the reason everything is connected and instant with eachother is that everything comes from the same point, undivided by the consciousness' illusional observations of time and space. (One-ness theory.) So, "What created everything in the beginning?" There is no beginning, or end for that matter, only once consciousness observed time did it ever wonder of a beginning or an end. We have simply not been informed of the behavior of our universe.

  • Quantum Physics isn't for everyone, but I like it. I think it will soon be the thing that answers all our questions about life and death and where we came from. This video is too short, go find more if you're interested. If you're not, then don't. To each their own.

  • Your bullshit filter is engages because your cornhole is open. Close it, then open your mind, and you might learn something, or stay in sense experience, asleep til the next round. But don't step on someone else, cause it makes me want to step on you.

  • I think the new word for B/S is entanglement

and this guy has a full quantum of entanglement and his brain suffers from non-locality!

    @ 22"

  • lol...closed minded

  • Its a boundry condition.

  • There is science to back it up because Hameroff is an M.D....lol, and you're just some random guy on the Internet who's very skeptical

    BELIEVE

  • Ok, so we realise now that KID433321 is a troll.

    We can move on now.

"There is science to back it up because Hameroff is an M.D"

Incorrect. Because someone has letters before their name, doesn't mean they are always talking science.

But hey, keep trying. You're really showing the odd spark of intellect now with utterances like "BELIEVE", "ppffft" and "gringo". You may lick windows but don't give up Sunshine - your special.

  • lol...SO much effort...some random guy commenting on the Internet? I'm so offended! :(

    g - r - i - n - g - o - -

  • Wow. Genius. We're all strangers on the net. All I've done is show to everyone that you can't back up your argument so you resort to childish ad-hominems.

    Fail.

  • I'm not sticking up for the kid, but I like quantum physics. Maybe you reject it for your own reasons, but it is science and it is studied seriously. Just because you don't get it doesn't make it bullshit ya know? It's only expanding on what Einstien started, and I'm sure not many people understand it. It holds my interest and that's all that matters to me. And there is science to back this up, they're not building a new super collider for nothing.

  • It is said in the community(i dont have a phd "yet" but i read some books on the subject) that no one truly understands quantum mechanics because of its very abstract nature; only a handful or quite possibly none had some insights into what it is. Also a book i recommend: "The Elegant Universe" by Brian Green its pretty good and simple, almost anyone could follow along.

  • Consciousness is not intelligence. What he's talking about is an Ego, flying around outside of the body, calling it consciousness. Consciousness is the observing aspect of life, which is lost durring extreme intoxication with alcohol, and which has not developed until the age of about three--before that time the child is showing intelligence, but cannot identify itself with its own mirror image. And when someone is blacked out drunk, they are still alive, but not conscious. Thats the difference.

  • Baloney. "Possibly" this, "possibly" that. What a bunch of unfounded 'woo'.

  • possibly.

  • I think you mean 'woo-woo'

  • I don't see you on a video with ''M.D.''after your name.,

  • KID433321: "I don't see you on a video with ''M.D.''after your name"

I don't need to be a master chef to know I've been served a shit sandwhich.

  • come on, open your mind a little bit...the culture crisis we are facing today needs that...less horse-faced people..please!

  • KID433321: "come on, open your mind a little bit...the culture crisis we are facing today needs that"

    Needs what? Woo?

  • yes...needs that....

    woo...

  • KID433321: "yes...needs that...woo"

Then I see you as an enemy of the world and I have nothing more to say to you. Woo is another word for 'bullshit' and there's enough of that in the world as it is (religion is a prime example). If you openly advocate bullshit then you're no friend of mine.

  • stop trying to sound intelligent...and no, i am obviously not a friend of some stranger on the Internet...OF COURSE NOT! jees...EGO

  • "stop trying to sound intelligent"

Ha ha, yeah, whatever man. Go visit a crystal shop and buy some incense sticks or something.

  • lol, OK ''MAN''...pfffft...stupid gringo

  • "lol, OK ''MAN''...pfffft...stupid gringo"

    Yeah, like, great comeback.

You're incorrect. I'm no gringo. Do you even know what the meaning of the word is? Now who's stupid? You've already stated the world needs more woo. What's more, you stated it publicly. Looks like you really do live up to your namesake of 'kid'.

Go back a message or two where you ask me to "open my mind". To what? The woo bullshit in this video? Tell me exactly what I'm supposed to take seriously here. Be specific.

  • I stand by mi ''stupid gringo'' comment

    :)

    damn gringo! =)

  • So 'stand by' an ad hominem rather than engage in debate.

Again, you live up to your user name.

    Well done.

  • If consciousness is a result of universal saturation, then what is unconsciousness i.e. deep dreamless sleep. Is unconsciousness therefor a result in some collapse of our universe meaning does in collapse far enough over time to cause unconsciousness?

  • I'm skeptical about whether or not we are ever actually unconscious. It seems like we merely have various states of conscious experience, and when we're in a state that we would call "unconscious" we're really just in a state of lessened awareness and more often than not, we don't recall what happens in this state. I suspect that some people sometimes remember events occurring in states where they do not have "consciousness" - this could be explained through sort of a quantum observation.

  • Dear MyCommentsMatter, wouldn't that mean that no collapse occurs and so all possibilities are still coexisting in equal portions. Therefore, time can go either direction in whatever distance it will.

  • GREYWOLF4744: Hi. I think the physical world is manifestations of consciousness.

    Love & blessings :)

    thanks for great video:)

  • Hi Satori1800, no problem its my pleasure to share ideas with everyone. If you have not subscribed do consider, more to come in time (but isnt that always the case?)

    -TGM

  • Yes!

  • The problem of simultaneous info transmission seems only a problem if we forget about timelessness and spacelessness of quantum world. If we can accept these demonstrable (anti)characteristics of reality, we see that what is fundamentally real is the non local, nondual beingness that must preceede all presencings in reality, including the presencing of "awareness of" and "awareness as" which constitute consciousness.
