  • THIS is the greatest song in the game. xD

  • I'm laying on my bed right now, in the dark. Right when this song started my cat sat up, staring at me, and all I could see was a faint yellow glow from his eyes from over my laptop screen. It freaked me out, and the intro to this song definitely didn't help. XD

  • this one should be the final boss battle theme

  • its a sad world we live in when people think this is what the real instruments sound like...

  • They ripped off Zelda on the battle intro when they find him on the piano.

  • @DartUchiha I completely agree. I was like "Ganondorf much?"

  • @DartUchiha I agree... But Van looked SO much cooler doing it than Ganondorg, so I forgave them doing that.

  • Actually I prefer this theme over the Final Boss tune. Love the violins!

  • i don't know of you have experimented something like me: i fought with van in the hardest level, and he gave mne 160 grades, it was the battle not only in the tales of series but in my life as a gamer, to feel the music and the terror to fight with such opponent, i won, but at the cost of the life of every character in my team (jade, tear, anise and luke), but in the end, it was just van and luke, how i won?, it was epic, man, the battle in my life!

  • I beat Van here with the weakest weapons possible for everyone.

Luke had Nebelim at its weakest.

    Guy had the wooden sword.

    Ansie had a rod

Tear had the strongest out of everyone, but she was busy healing so she didnt count, but the battle was intense! It took 42 minutes and got me over 52 grade!

  • When I wanted to listen to this song, instead of typing 'At the time of Farewell' into the search box, I typed in "Meaningless babble." *Favorited*

  • this should've been the final boss music. but meh they're both good.

    "I'LL DESTROY- IMPERIAL SLAUGHTER!!!"

  • most underrated theme of the tales series imo

  • @lolmuffins1 Wait really? This masterpiece underrated? It was this song that actually got me hooked into the Tales of series to begin with!

  • Radiant Dragon!

  • 後悔するのだな! 滅びよ! 星皇蒼破陣!

  • More of Sakuraba that sounds like his Baten Kaitos work. I love it.

  • This is so much better then the final boss theme for this game. Much more epic.

  • This music and Beating up Van just made t he battle Pure Epic and this is one of my Favorite Boss themes ever

  • It sounds like james bon music at the beggining. Lol.

  • LOL Omg it doesLOLOLOL!!!

  • @partyman147

I've never realized before, but this is so true!

  • I did go on a 3rd playthrough. Boy, I forgot how much fun the epic boss fights are on unknown. I'm making a separate saveslot so I can keep refighting nebilim, replicantis and the cameos, those battles are amazing!

  • lawl agreed neblim on unkown is RLY something ima beet er up solo on either vry hard or unkown(probably unkown) also her mystic artes are RLY something

  • Or Emil, yech.

  • I hated van's imperial slaughter!! Why, because slaughter is right

  • lawl imperial slaughter is nathing towards celistial elegy(or energy or whatever its called) thats a big bech dude

  • @MrJadecurtiss I'll destroy! Imperial slaughter!!!...sorry when is saw your comment i had to say that to someone XD

  • man, now THAT was a great battle theme...

  • agreed i played the game and it tok me 35 minutes to beet him on unkown (why 35 minutes?????) so that i can enjoy the battle theme while hearing his I'LL DESTROY (he doesnt say you) IMPERIAL SLAUGHTER

  • I'm about to go on a 3rd playthrough if I don't find anything else to do atm @_@

  • The first time I fought Van on my second playthrough, in the middle of the fight, both Luke and Van used Frigid Blast on eachother at the same time. It was awesome! XD

  • the best song of this game

  • This song makes me remember the first time I got Imperial Slaughtered. D:D

    "Such lamentation! IMPERIAL SLAUGHTER!"

  • is this when you fight the 3rd part of Vandesdelca Musto Fende? i`m talking about master van(general dorian grants)

  • No, only the first fight.

Fights two through 4 are in the replica Hod.

  • This doesn't use real instruments, it's MIDI/synthesized

  • Well, it sounds real, and it doesn't mean all of it's synth. Some of it may be. The guitar has to be real. There's no guitar synth THAT good sounding.

  • im pretty sure they synth'd a violin

  • @yamicin It sounds more like an orchestra then bleeping tones, though. XD It's realistic.

  • @yamicin And it's pretty impressive for MIDI too, huh? The PS2 just rolls that way.

  • @yamicin still sounds pretty good though :)

  • @yamicin what's MIDI anyway?

  • @yamicin Well, they did a damn good job of synthesizing it.

  • Man, what kind of game is this?? It feels like i wanna play it! Console??

  • Action RPG, Ps2

  • This is good music, same qualities of Star Ocean

  • It sounds similar to Star Ocean because they are both composed by the great Motoi Sakuraba.

  • Ah, so this is also part of his tales series. Shoulda known, thanks for the info!

  • Gee, it sure is DANGEROUS around Van.

  • this kinda sounds like somethin id hear off of SSBB

  • Same Composer worked on SSBB.

Then again, pretty much every Big-Name video game composer there is worked on SSBB.

  • Nobuo Uematsu didn't

  • ...Yeah he did. He composed the main theme of the game.

  • really now, BNecause I haven't seen his name once yet... maybe I ought to bother completeing the Emissary... I have every character bar Wolf, without going through the SSE

  • Well, looking it up is a simple process through the Dojo! or Wiki.

  • Nobuo Uematsu never does Tales music.. Seriously

  • I'm well aware. He did the main theme for Brawl, though, which is what I'm replying to.

  • Well then, we know whose a moron here, now, don't we?

  • never at this time, but if they add a tales character to a future SSB game, he might have one on it.... Hoping for either Luke, Cress, Lloyd, Kratos, or Emil if they do decide to add one...

  • Then It'd be another 3rd party character, I could at least understand, Lloyd maybe at most. but tales of vrs handles all of that. Now issac or felix from golden sun should've been playable.

  • Yeah, all they did was give an Issac Assist Trophy that used the Psynergy 'Move'. It'd be a lot better if they had Felix using the Weapon Howl Megiddo (Sol Blade) >:D

  • Move on Final Destination can net you a nice sum of kills safely. But I'm sad the GS stuff was 1 AT and 1 epic song.

  • lol i don't think they're gonna add characters from another console but if they do pff YURI needs a spot

  • If they add a tales character, my money'd be on Lloyd or Kratos.

  • Van sure is something,i just got up to him on mine. i got the game a few weeks ago and i just beat van.he was hard on hard mode but fun to fight. i thoughtthe game was gonna end and it seems he survived.

  • "Suck lamentation! Imperial Slaughter!"

In a run of bad luck, I had my whole team caught up in that attack and we all died. Van is an awesome boss and a great character.

  • Sorry for the double post here, but I feel I need to fix my typo. I meant to say "Such lamentation!" Sorry again.

  • lol Suck Lamentation! XD

  • "Radiant Dragon!" lol

  • Where can i buy this game?

    - it looks awesome!

  • my favorite boss battle fight/music in the game xD. I like the background when you fight van for the first time

  • Hmz. Strange enough, this sounds like a battle theme from the Golden Sun series on the GBA.

  • Hmm now that u think bout it, it does sound like Golden Sun

  • Oh crap... WTF did I do. Ahem, dude over there didn't say anything of spam. I accidentally pressed spam. XD Sorry! Anywayz, yeah it's the same composer.

  • Same Composer

  • Van was an amazing Boss.

  • It's because of his bears, his source of power! and don't forget his eyebrows which shoot hypno-rays!(this wierd thing comes from a certain skit, so TOA players should probably know about this)

  • I love Natalia on that one (:

  • yeah, the fact that it seemed like she actually believed it that made it all the more funny

  • Yea, I remember that one. I'm surprised most of them believed it. All I know Van uses is swordsmanship and "persuasion".

  • @L0mp0n lol especially with his magic beard and (acording to anise) amazing eye brows

  • i cant download this song anywhere for crying out loud GRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Tales of the Abyss has an amazing soundtrack, better than Tales of Symphonia in my opinion.

  • Agreed, aside from "End of a thought" and "Like a Glint of light," Symphonia didn't have too many standout tracks.

  • *coughrevivalcough*

  • I'm rather partial to "Beat the Angel" myself. I've always liked that one.

  • ToS and ToA ae both good games with good and bad points... Unfortunately you ae right, ToA has a better soundtrack, even though I prefer ToS

  • I find them to be about Equal.

Of course, Abyss has "Meaning of Birth", so it barely wins out.

  • I agree. TOA does have a better sound track even though I sort of like TOS better, game-play wise.... (Don't kill me. I still like TOA. ^^;..)

  • Of course, ToA has Free Run -.o

  • That's true. :3

    Also, the battle screen isn't all...up in your face sort of thing. ^^ Though Tear's Revitalize isn't as good as Raine's in my opinion...^^;

  • yeah but Tear has force field.

  • this...is...soooo.......gooood

  • More great fighting and battle music.
