Dean Ford of Marmalade is still singing and he kicks! Check this out, he just released a brand new song with his friend Joe Tansin (Badfinger member), it is called "The Glasgow Road." You can find it here on youtube, have a look.
One of the best pop bands of the 60s. This one was a MacAuley and McLeod composition, and they turned out some classy pop work. It's worth checking out their "Butterflies and Rainbows" compilation, this one's on it too. Excellent pop tune, a top ten hit following on from their only UK number 1.
tq for info, i just cant tell....funny if any scottish or irish band is good the english media would call them british band but if its an english band , the media in england would label them as english!
@ahmadjaafar Same goes for tennis players. When Andy Murray wins he's British, when he loses he's Scottish. Tim Henman, on the other hand was always English. Make of that what you will.
@PAULLONDEN oh paul paul paul. we know. and we know about the ipad spell-correct of hendrix. Please join the group anyway, it's a lot of fun. Dean is about to issue a new album with ex-Badfinger Joe Tansin. Both Joe and Dean are active in the Group and respond to our questions. Their new duet The Glasgow Road has been posted on our wall. Guitarist Junior Campbell and Drummer Alan Whitehead are also active in the group, posting memories and photos. :-)
This was Marmalade's last hit on CBS before they switched to the Decca label - CBS released "Butterfly" in the autumn of '69 but it didn't make the charts.
Interesting to see Pat Fairley playing organ on this video, I wasn't aware he played keyboards, Junior Campbell was always the guy who could switch to keyboards if he wasn't playing lead.
Merci Beaucoup Mon Amour Por Le Poste!!! And I will assure you that no one will have the slightest difficulty in being amused by it...Let the good times roll!!!

The lead vocalist looks like Justin Bieber with long hair and leather pants! In reality, he would go on to join the Alan Parsons Project!

@veda1954 Try not to be so parochial England has enough to celebrate without attempting to nab from the Bravefarts, great song, great band too.

My ex from this period of the 60s had a huge crush on Dean Ford, but from all accounts he was happily and faithfully married.
