This talk of switching off oil is nonsense. It is impossible to replace coal/oil for energy for a long time, unless we invent some new type of power. Wind/Solar are just nowhere close to enough energy. We would need an incredible amount of nuclear plants to just go electric.
We need a modern Nikola Tesla to invent some zero point energy shit.

i'm always amused by the term "addiction to oil" by our leader. the internal combustion engine wasn't invented to burn gasoline but alcohol... but it was the governments that pandered to oil companies to promote the use of gas... not are they truly offering incentives to expand outwards. here in our community, one enterprising individual put up a wind generator and was promptly taxed for it.

@MrBuckwilliam you get licenenced, taxed, regulated, and every enviroment group will demonstarate agians the windmill. Also the windmill must pass govt dictated standard, making the whole idea of regenrative selvesufficient energy artitificially expensive for no real goood reason at all. The if you do go ahaead and produce surplusses the energy corperation will allmost do anything to keep you off the grid

@LastReplaySC, i do know one man and his family that have gone totally off the grid but he has pretty much opted for absolute poverty as well. they are happy though and have most of what they need.
