Everyone has their preference that they swear by. Myself, I just used the paint that I was able to find at my local comics/gaming shop. I'm planning on using an airbrush in the future, which will be a real beast in and of itself.

NO NO NO!!! Before you go and buy stuff you can't use, let me tell you what works and what doesn't. Watercolor is too weak and won't stick. Enamel is great for painting model cars because it has a really nice shine to it, but its really hard to clean up (you need chemicals) and on the type of plastic used for toy figures, the paint will NEVER dry ( I've been told that it still smudged off after 2 years), and its REALLY sticky and tacky. Get acrylics, they're water-based, bright colors, the best!

Any store that sells model kits should have paint. If your not sure what kind it is ask an employee. If you go to a comic or games store, chances are good they will be selling miniatures for tabletop gaming. If so they will always have acrylic paint.

The only complaint about Reprolables is the shipping time. It does take a while, but rest assured they will deliver. It typically takes around a month for the stuff to arrive.

You know what, I would really love to do that. I have a Masterpiece Optimus Prime with long smoke stacks that I bought just to customize it into Nemesis Prime. I refuse to do a half-ass job on the thing so I can't work on it until I move into a bigger place, which would allow me to use my airbrush. Once I'm in though, I'll get to work on it. I would have had it done by someone else already, but it turns out she doubles as an internet slut, so I lost faith in her.

Well, the paint I can agree with, but the Prime I got off of eBay for $50. It was the version with the stupid voicebox and dumb blue gun, but the guy had already changed out the short stacks for the long ones.

Well, you could do a bit of looking around. If eBay doesn't sell replacement stacks, I know there are some other places that do. I can't produce names now, its been so long since I've had to look. Once you have them though, the replacement process is very simple. There are even some videos here that show how to do it.

Yeah, thats the reason I buy most of the things I have. Only thing is, it never really gets sold. Couple that with the fact that lots of other people are doing the very same thing and supply vs. demand really starts playing the key role. It all boils down to: can I afford it now? I could say yes, but with me having to move soon, buying something I won't die without having is throwing caution in the air.

Fucking forever! Thats the thing about Reprolabels, they have really great service and low prices on most stuff, but because they're in Canada, it takes bloody ages for the stuff to arrive. If you've already ordered, take heart, you stuff will arrive.

Remember to use acrylic paint, NOT enamel. Enamel is for cars only, and even then I wouldn't want to use it. Enamel is very high gloss, but never truly dries so its always tacky and sticky if you touch it. When you display something painted with enamel the dust it gathers will never come off.
