This is a pretty impressive demonstration of the ability of engineers to design remarkably safe nuclear power plants. I mean, a magnitude 9.0 earthquake, the largest that has ever hit Japan in it's recorded history, AND a mega tsunami hit this thing, and it didn't break in a catastrophic way right away. Even now, it leaks only minor levels of radiation. That's impressive. Name any other building on the entirety of the planet that could withstand that much trauma, you'll have a very short list...

If Immelt stands behind his beliefs, then he should join the workers at that plant, put on a respirator and help with the clean-up, which may take a decade, instead of meeting 'officials', while simultaneously laying off 17,000 GE workers in the US.
