@WoWNageVideos, if he wants to point to the puck he should be hugging the damn post, as a goaltender of 15+ years, I'd NEVER half-ass a play like that.... then again with some of the defenses in front of me I get paranoid :p
Well guess what crashliner, that wouldn't even be an icing. He dumped the puck just before the last blue line. For it to be an icing, it has to pass both blue lines! GOSH! Do you know anything about hockey?!
Hey genius, did i say it WAS icing... I said he was HOLDING HIS ARM UP FOR ICING, as a person who's played goalie for ... oh 15 years.... I know what I was talking about :p
And for a puck to be icing it has to pass two RED lines... might wanna do a lil homework before you come in and act like you know what the fuck you are talking about! Have a wonderful evening :)
@crashliner It doesnt have to go passed the two red lines! It has to go past both blue lines. I dare you, search what is icing on google or something and find your right answer.
@crashliner Just to add to this a little you are correct on the icing has to pass centre and the goal line and rosjger is a fucking idiot. However in the NHL there is a rule that if a goaltender plays the puck on an icing it is waved off.
@crashliner you dont seem to know much about hockey for being a goaltender for 15+ years, you should know that it was not icing, but its ok i know ppl on the internet like to exaggerate and sya things that are untrue, and also not too sure what a defenseman in front of you would do in that situation. Also he wasnt half assing it, the puck just took an unlucky bounce off the glass and into the net, yes he should have played the post but normally in those situations they dont have to
@SARGER5 I'm 38...I've been playing since I was 23..do the math :)....he's either pointing or about to put his arm up for icing... EITHER WAY his leg should be hugging post, because you never know when a puck is gonna take a fucked up bounce and make you look like an idiot on youtube for years to come... listen to the Stars announcer... ANOTHER former goalie...says he half-assed it too... but I guess you know better
(my defense comment was just experience from years of play with crap defenses)
@crashliner look at where the puck was shot from, there is no way he is putting his hand up for icing and pretty much then every goalie half-asses it when that happens because i have seen pretty much every goaltender in the NHL stand in the net just like huet did and point at the puck and not hug the post, but i guess thats why your in the NHL as a goalie right
@xRevize calm down k??? just calm down...i'm sorry for making a mistake. i just thought u had to clear the puck passed both blue lines and the final red line by the net.
@xRevize ok well thats very sad...i'm not gonna react to u in a rediculous way like ur acting to me. i mean wuts the point in being a jerk like that?! idk wuts up with u, but i'll pray for u.
That would make it worse. No professional should ever put down another, EVER. If he is an NHL drafted goalie and someone found out about this, he would get beat down. So he can enjoy saying crap about a professional goaltender with outstanding NHL numbers, including an all star game for the time being. Because there's no way it'll last and he won't go anywhere with an attitude like that. So enjoy the five minutes of fame you may or may not have because you clearly lack respect for the NHL.
I watched that whole game, that was the 4th or 5th time during that game that a puck bounced off the glass funny. As a Stars fan I couldn't believe they won that game. The Hawks had complete control in the first period, Alex Auld saved them.
The one thing that makes this a bad goal was he had his arm up for icing... and if you watched the game...even the Stars announcers went on to say how he was bad in the whole game (I was in the house all of 5 minutes when this happened, just getting back from the Devils game myself)... and he went on to call the goal a kinda fluke (still cover your damn post!!) and you can get past your fluke goal if you don't let in other bad goals....and Krist-LOL (love that name) let in quite the few stinkers
I wouldn't even consider this a bad goal. He had little time to react to a bad bounce, in which he reacted perfectly. He didn't panic and got his body over and covered the bottom of the net and put his glove infront to protect. The fact the puck bounced over the glove into a small area is just unbelievable.
No! A GOOD goaltender would have played it much better. He was backed into his net, the teams were changing he could have played it better. He took his eyes off the puck which ended up being a goal. There is no excuse for this. I Know goaltenders deal with bad bounce goals but this was much more easily avoidable.
Ya, I don't listen to Americans when it comes to hockey, specifically goaltending.
He played it properly, and 9 times out of 10 he would have got that puck in that extreme awkard bounce situation.
Btw, if he's 15 feet out and not backed in his net, that puck goes in every time. Goaltenders back into their net because they have to judge the speed of the puck for whether or not to chase it behind the net to stop it. It seemed like Huet was expecting some sort of a possible bounce.
Funny because Daryl isn't american, and from someone like you who acts like he knows a thing or to about goaltending apparently doesn't know shit. He could have easily got that puck, he didn't pay attention to where it was going on the initial chip in, and when he noticed it he was too far in his net. I don't listen to retards who think they know everything about hockey or any sport. Also, nationality has nothing to do with knowledge of a game. You are not superior by any means
I disagree with Razor Reighe... or however you spell his name. . I don't think Huet was being passive. He was anticipating the puck going behind and around and started moving that way and just needed a split second more to get back and seal the post. And yeah my vid makes fun of him but it wasn't so much his fault. In my humble and awesome opinion
well no one could care less about your nubile and pathetic opinion! :D Anyway poor net-minding and pathetic passive attempt to stop that puck = win for Dallas. Hawks should have won that game, clearly the better team in the contest but I feel bad for them that their win streak had to end because of a poor goaltender.
He wasn't holding his hand up for icing... He was pointing to where the puck went like all goal-tenders do.
