It has nothing to do with light aparently. It is the temperature difference between the white and black pannels. If you put it in dark warm room it will also spin.
The light absorbed by the dark vanes is what causes the temperature difference 'in this video demonstration', so it has everything to do with light.
For more information kindly read up in Wikipedia 'Crookes radiometer, also known as the LIGHT MILL.' By the way, it does not spin if i put it in a dark warm room.
