i tried to build one a while ago but without the electric stuff.

still pretty expensive if you don´t have the machines... i payed about 250$ for the miling of the plastic alone + about 75$ i think for trhe plastic + 150$ for the magnets

@crlwllns I think it's a misconception here, why would you need a US patent, in order to commercialize, Us pattern is only for protection, and recognition of the inventor, but it doesn't help to put it on the market. And if someone copy your invention, you can sue them in court. Posting your invention on YouTube is a good proof in a court of law. And if you are really trying to beat the oil companies you should encourage the copy of your invention by making it free for everyone.

More info please. Dimensions, polarity, position of magnets on stator & rotor. Are the magnets shielded? should have pre-spun it below the speed to light the leds & let the motor speed up the rest of the way to light the leds to be more convincing though.

You can get 1KW of solar panels for about 3000$ and that is real not free since you pay 3000$ for 1KW of solar panels and they will probably work for over 25 years producing a bit over 1000KWh / year depending on your location so in 30 years you can get 30000KWh and you pay 3000$ so you get about 10 cent / KWh but you need to pay in advance for 30 years also this dose not include batteries if you want to store.
