This is a typical western world view, that India does not have the weapons, or the experience.India has fought 4 wars and numerous other skirmishes. It operates the highest battlefield on earth, with temperatures going down to -70C. India is THE BEST when it comes to high altitude mountain warfare, jungle warfare etc. The US has no experience in this, so they train here.

@Death1458100 All these countries are debt ridden and they depend on the US or NATO mostly for supplies. These countries have far less capability than India does. You wanna compare weapon systems, then you can do your own research, but you will find that India uses very good systems. Sure there are some old systems in place, but they are being modernized. Check out Janes Weekly, or even wikipedia for starters.

The US forces are not good anywhere, and US equipment are not good anywhere. For example the F18s failed to even start their engines in the rarefied atmospheres of the Himalayas during the MRCA contract tests. The US is an expeditionary force. India is a self defence force.

In every picture they used very old and apparently poor even if it is not, you can judge looking at recent photos or video. This is a typical western world view, that India does not have the weapons, or the experience.India has fought 4 wars and numerous other skirmishes. It operates the highest battlefield on earth, with temperatures going down to -70C. India is THE BEST when it comes to high altitude mountain warfare, jungle warfare etc. The US has no experience in this, so they train here.

So in conclusion, the Indian army is an extremely professional, trained armed force. You wanna compare weapon systems, then you can do your own research, but you will find that India uses very good systems. Sure there are some old systems in place, but they are being modernized. Check out Janes Weekly, or even wikipedia for starters.

Therefore the assumption that India does not have a trained armed force etc. In reality, it is a huge force that is extremely professional and well trained. The US Army acknowledges this fact. Since they train with us here in India, and India trains with them in Alaska - as a measure to improve bilateral relations.

The US forces are not good anywhere, and US equipment are not good anywhere. Most of the work is still done by the US. For example in Afghanistan, the French just fly a few sorties every day patrolling the skies. Nothing else. When you analyze strength, you gotta take into account - purchasing power (India has more than EU), Size, Quality of training (India is just as good), Firepower (India has more), Tech (On par/little less),Capability(India clearly can mobilize more than EU). All these factors suggest that Germany/UK even with its more state of the art equipment, would still lose to India due to sheer numbers.

@vijayallenraj I never admitted that. You put a thousand comments down that I am too lazy to read them all. So since India is trained by the UK and US; Germany, the U.S., and Russia make your weapons. With out any of these countries India would be China right now. With these countries India makes it to the top 10. Without numbers both China and India would be nothing. If you had a squad of Indians vs a squad of Germans or the British India would loose.

@Suds27786 Secondly, India's R&D will improve only with time. India was sanctioned all along after our nuclear tests and inspite of that we've developed ICBMs, Space tech, laser guided bombs, our own composite armor for tanks, cruise missiles, air craft carriers, nuclear subs etc etc But this goes largely unreported because the western world only concentrates on their weapon systems and understandably so. So they think we are not capable or that we arent well trained etc. Ignorance and Idiocy.

India has gotten better but the one true strength they have against a western power is there numbers same goes with China. The only difference is India can actually buy good equipment where as China can only get old crap.

Even the US is not as precise and as decisive in their actions like Israel is. After about 15 wars or so, with their whole country military trained, I dont even know how you dont consider them above EU nations.But like I said, Israel fights wars close to its home. But that doesnt mean the EU powers are better. The EU powers are not as tough as you think. Period.

I mean to say India is the best in High altitude mountain warfare, jungle warfare etc.,We are also pretty good at desert warfare. So we train the US, Israel etc in those type of terrain. The US, Israel etc are the best in urban warfare,desert warfare etc., So they train us in those terrains. You get my point...

There is no other out there that can fight us and win. China and russia are the next most powerful but russia is just starting to recover from the economic collapse from the fall of the USSR and is in no condition to fight a major war. China cant arm 1 billon people and very few of them are capable of military service.
