@gonzoette Mine is straight piped too. If you look this is the first exhaust set up on this Jeep. Now it is straight piped with duel exhaust!

This isn't exactly straight piped. It still has the cat in it. And yes this is the 318. Look at Plum Broke's new exhaust to hear it really straight piped. No cat or muffler y'd into duals!

I have performed a fresh tune up, swapped out to synthetics in the diffs, made a CAI, added a Jet Stage 2 chip, run 89 octane, upgraded ignition, one heat range cooler plugs, 180* t-stat, e-fan conversion, free flowing exhaust.

As it was when I got it it was pretty bad. about 12-14. Then I did a tune up on it. New plugs, coil, cap, rotor, wires. Then it went to a respectable 14-16. Changed out the diff fluids and what not and that ran me up to a 15-17. As it sits now I get 19-21 depending on how I am with the throttle. If I am in it all the time yeah it only gets about 13mpg. Another thing to check is the condition of the cat. Mine was horrible and after removing it I noticed a small gain in performance and mpg.

@ihitatree Countryboy is right, I get about 14 which sucks but the torque and hp you get from the 318 is worth it. Plus they are bulletproof. Even when mine was stock the bitch would go anywhere. If you want mpg buy a civic, if you want a good time buy a Jeep!

What muffler? I cut it off and put regular exhaust pipe in its place in this vid. It no longer sounds like this. It is not straight piped. No muffler or cat and it is y'd into dual exhaust.

Depending on how I drive but I can get about 19 MPG on the hwy at 70-75mph. This is the old exhaust set up. You should hear the new exhaust!

Its actually not that loud while driving. I love it! My mileage didn't drop or gain from this. Just changed the tune of the exhaust thats it. I am in the process of gathering parts for a true dual exhaust set up. I'll post a vid once it is done!

Stock size is 2.25". At least it was on my 96 5.2 in this vid and on my 97 4.0.

It is the stock exhaust that it came with from the factory minus the muffler. It was smashed on a trail ride and really sounded horrible. So in place of it I put a piece of pipe of the same diameter and length in its place.

wtf that sounds way better than mine...well for now. this christmas im getting a 3" exhaust system composed of 3 pipes, 3" magnaflow high flow cat, and a 3" flowmaster super 44 :) its gonna sound amazing
