I was at Quaid-i-Azam University in the Department of History in the mid-eighties,I still remember that this song was played in each and every room of the hostel and no university function was complete without it.There was a popular story attached to this song that it was written by a former student of the DDS department. aor aap baja farma rahay hain. waqai is ka koi match nahi.lajawab hai ye, aor Nasir Kazmi sahib ne bhi kamal kiya hai. Asif Ali ki sari nazmain/ghazlain achhi hain lakin yeh best hai.
