  • u talk tooooooo fk. to much!

  • THIS IS THE BEST VIDEO OF HOW-TO-DO-BAKLAVA !! Daniel you are great and thnx. I made it today and ppl LOVED it.

  • absolutly wrong man,i think that you have to learn a little bit more.baklava is original from turkish, wich was made by a baker of the emperor kitchen, about the fillo blabla it's beacause the translation so this is doesn't mean that the turkish people call it the fillo blabla ok.

  • I made baklava today and this video was extremely helpful

  • Really good presentation. Very informative and easy to follow. Can't wait to try this recipe. (I was always intimidated to try make it.)

  • i must say, yours was a lot better than i thought it would be. you were very thorough and still interesting. i know you-tube didn't need another "how to make baklava" but it is my first in a series of many recipes to be posted. so when you have a chance, check out mind under hyelady 37

  • @hyelady47 Thanks so much! That's nice of you to say!

  • lol "baklawa" is one of the most famous desserts here in Kuwait !! my dad loves it !! sadly its done with lots of butter and sugar, i can't eat more than one tiny bite and i feel guilty too XD

  • @neatkitten Is it similar to Baklava?

  • @danieldelaney actually "baklava" is "baklawa" it's just pronounced differently :)

  • There's at least one baklava festival each year here in Oklahoma :)

  • @aglanceatmyworld Ah! Didn't know that happened. I wanna go!

  • YES! MY REQUEST WAS ANSWERED :D thank you :D

  • @Suicider12 Of course!

  • @danieldelaney :P If you want to, could you do a wtf about Chocolate Mousse. Its lightness is so delightful ^^

  • i think you should do "chorizo ", i love it and eat it all the time. Although idont know what part of pig is used in making this?

  • @OreoCookieMoster Sounds like a great topic! Stay tuned!

  • could u do lady fingers a man came 2 the grocery store where i work asking for thm and tried 2 explain 2 me wht thy r but im still a little lost

  • @NeonMegamanX Sure! They're a type of cookie - most stores sell them in the cookie isle. They're often used for tiramisu, an italian dessert.

  • My aunt makes -the best- baklava. Every Christmas we get a box, and it's so good. haha

  • @tokyoxjapanxfan I want your aunt! Have her send me a box!!!

  • my mam makes it, a seacret to have cranchier filo you make syrup you leave it to get colder and you put it on hot baklava or the oposit hot syrup on cold baklava ;)

  • @pepermint26 Ah good to know. Love the technique!

  • I've never had baklava... It looks tasty, though!

(sorry for not commenting lately. The end of the semester kicked my butt :x)

  • @aliciamarie2007 No worries! Welcome back!

  • One of my all time favorite desserts! A good cup of coffee with that.

Unrelated, have you paid back the teller at the supermarket yet? Great story!

  • @margowsky Yes, I did pay the teller back. The next day. How awesome was that?!

  • @danieldelaney It was a wonderful story. Gives me some faith in mankind. I'm sure she was tickled that you came back so quickly and took care of business.

  • Baklava is so tasty!

So I think I have an interesting WTF for you, can you cover kohlrabi? I've seen it in the Asian market many times and I was wondering about it because I've never heard anything about it except when I was younger while watching Strawberry Shortcake.

  • @SuvinRK I will be glad to cover Kohlrabi soon! I think it's a great topic. :)

  • Daniel, you forgot Rosewater. A classical Baklava always needs a few sprtiz's of rosewater on each layer. I guess the syrup thing works okay, but I have always heard otherwise. Aside, how were those ribs?

  • @thePowerPlant The rosewater really soaked in, and it was quite nice. But I'll have to try that technique. Sounds like it would be great for keeping the dough moist while preparing. The ribs were good, but I need to refine that rub a bit.

  • Another thing similar to baklava that is awesome is briouates or briwats. Theyre little pouches of phyllo with nuts inside, dipped in honey. You could cover that on a future WTF. MmMmM :)

  • @PlatypusGuitar Yum! What culture are they from?

  • @danieldelaney its morrocan. I discovered them through the youtube channel sousoukitchen.

  • This is bad ass. Thanks for this guys! I love this show !!

  • @whoobonhooaglo For sure! Glad you dig it!

  • tasty ... but soooo sweet and sticky,, :-o

i love baklava whit lots of nuts crushed between the layer of honey and philo paste

  • @TeaIicious yum yum! You really can't go wrong with it!

  • Are you serious about eating the scraps of Philo while you work?? Never heard that before.

  • @ikebanaJc No. I am not serious.

  • Really surprised that Filo pastry seems to be a less than standard ingredient over there, it's used quite alot in the uk! Wee tip if ur using fresh filo, place it under a slightly damp tea towel while preparing your other ingredients to stop it going dry :D absolutely love the show, love all the histories you provide - the pine nuts one blew my mind :D

  • @Devilish69xxx Interesting! Well great, glad you dig the show. Love blowing minds.

  • I love Baklava! It's one of the best desserts out there, hands down.

  • @LittleJawa couldn't agree more!
