  • wow you guys must be rllyyyyy smart T_T jk lol

  • i think its an awesome video....

    real devastation..outside....

  • Where was this on gull lake??? I use to have a cabin up there and wanted to kno where it was

  • This is the Goodrie family.

  • by the way the dog didn't make it

  • I have close friends who live on the gulf lake shore! they told me about a tornado one time! this is probably it!

  • Its funny that all Minnesotans go outside when the tornadoe sirens go off. We love our storms!

  • Damn straight! lol. Did you see them at the window holding a beer at 2:06? lol

  • @Chevybia

    gotta see what's happening!

  • I laid in a ditch at Brainard International Raceway as this same tornado came through the campgrounds. I've been looking for this video for a long time.

  • at 2:06 they were probly drunk

  • The swap/pond next to the cabin was belived to cause the tornado jump over the cabin. Might be the same tornado that went through Leader/Motely, MN. I was only 8ys old at that time(now 26). I could never forget that weekend. My uncles made the front page on the local newspaper. Somehow a helicopper that was tracking the tornado captured their picture as my uncles was pined against the cabin as they were sucked(pushed) against the front door(of course with a beer can in hand)

  • I remember seeing this on TV. I didn't know this was the same storm that hit my family cabin, killing a 10yr old boy, when a tree landed on the tent. My 2 uncles was cought outside as the tornando jumped over the cabin.

  • @reds10lowrider

I was at BIR when this tornado hit. Alot of cars and campers destroyed. I laid flat made it through. I have been looking for a video of the tornado since. Thanks for posting this.

  • Hey this happened on my birthday...hahah I was turning 2.

  • danreino.. I'm from MN - you're comment made me laugh my ass off. Haha. I can't believe how dumb these guys are. I'm ten feet from it! I'm ten feet from it! Look at it! Look at it! Look at it! lmao...

  • that was the same birthday as my cousin, which he turned 6 that year.

  • 1:55 "Oh there goes Bob's boat". Lol

  • I have seen this tornado many times totally amazing to watch

  • I was in this tornado i was only two but my family was only 4 houses down. There were no basements so we had to hide in cars and bathrooms. I cant remember much but i have a butt load of pictures from the damagd

  • Where is everybody? Where is everybody? Damn! This guy is annoying. "Er...we are hiding from the tornoado, idiot. Why don't you?"

  • love the fat broad with the kankles being told to get away from the windows, and then, walks right up to the window like a dog with her nose pressed against the window and watches..... she must have voted for franken...hahahaha

  • What bay? My family used to have a cabin on gull lake.

  • Awesome!

Clearly the man filming is in charge of the situation. You'll notice the other man in the video, when the windows are being smashed out, is able to rescue his beer whilst diving for cover. This is a classic!

The only video better than this is some drunk hag on Mille Lacs Lake. She's is spouting some BS about a tornado being "Tree-trop high." Oh really? Tree-trop? You better call Marge.

    Beautiful.

  • this video is on a tv show

  • are you the guys that used to work at Kavours who took this video?

  • Oh man alive I CAN'T BELIEVE IT! I remember taping the episode of Eye Witness Video back in '91 that featured this. I about wore that tape out - I loved it!!! It was the Goodrie family, right? They said it was North Long Lake on that show though.

Hey if you know them, tell them that they were my heroes!

  • Wow you made my day. I grew up as a kid fascinated with tornadoes. I would watch them on TV all the time. I remember this special on TLC, and I would watch this over and over again. But years have past now and I don't have that video I recorded of TV anymore.

  • But what is cool is I go out storm chasing myself now and my storm footage has been shown on TV like the weather channel and may be featured in the Discovery documentary Storm Chasers this year which would be a big deal for me. It is like full circle. I was the kid sitting at home watching these home, and storm chaser videos, and now I am on the other side of it as the storm chaser, and people watching my footage on TV.

  • ah, thanks.

  • awesome tornadic waterspout! by the way what was it rated?

  • I think it was rated F-1.

  • It was more than just a waterspout since it did hit land

  • Hey ColonelA :), how are ya buddy? :)

I've been waiting for years to see this clip in more detail and so, a big t5hank you for uploading it :)

Top rating everytime and it's great to see the classic clips are still rolling :) Willie

  • You're welcome, Willie. And I'm doing good, how about yourself?

  • I'm good buddy, thank you :)

I've just moved house and renovation work has started, and so, once I get moved back into my own house again, I'll be able to look into getting the tornado simulator up and running again, which is something that I'm looking forward too as I have a lot of new experiments to run :)

Once I get it set up, I'll record some video and upload it on here :)

  • u guys know each other ???

  • Colonel,

I remember seeing this vid - scared the phooo out of me then, does the same to me now - can't imagine - and no *beeping* basement - glad you survived.

    *StormSpinner* in Texas
