I'm not going to move to Maryland though. My brother lives right outside of Baltimore and he says that you should never go into Baltimore.
Yes, it is. Pennsylvania couldn't come up with something this good because they're unfortunate enough to be above the Mason-Dixon Line. Ha! That's just me, though. I've been to Baltimore and don't have any problem with it. Maryland isn't a very big state, but it's beautiful and has a song and flag to match. My family has a decent amount of history with Maryland and Virginia.
Don't judge Baltimore before you go there, it's actually a really nice city. There isn't too much to do downtown apart from going to football and baseball games as well as the inner harbor, but if you go to places like Hampden or Towson you'll find there is a lot to do.
Indeed it is the Christmas song's melody, but it is used in several other songs, too. But the flag reminds me of a mix of the Austrian-Hungary flag and the flag of Swabia =)

The red and white Calvert flag was favored by Maryland Confederates. The Yellow and black of the Crosslands was used by Maryland Unionists.
After the war, in the 1880s I think, the two were combined to make the current flag, symbolizing reconciliation.
