I am amazed at the number of ad hominem personal attacks evidenced against David Goldman in his FINE YEAR LONG nightmare to see and be with his OWN AMERICAN SON. They bear witness to a weird psychopathology on display with the Brazilian family and their supporters. They attempt to justify kidnapping and keeping a boy away from his BIOLOGICAL FATHER who has never been adjudicated to be unfit or incapacitated in any way. What a sick people and sick country who believe they are the victims here.

They had to sell their property to pay him off in USA. If Bruna left him... coming from a good well known family... there must have been a reason in which he is not saying. Anyone that wants to get divorced and the other one does not allow, can after two years be divorced and remarry...So in her case she got remarried following the law. It's amazing that americans can really be Brain washed. wake up!!! The guy does love his child... but he is one f... OPORTUNIST!!!!

Hmm. Maybe you should find out the facts of the case before commenting. Bruna's parents did not want to be sued for kidnapping, so they said the would pay to have their names taken off the complaint. And umm, yes, they are kidnappers just like Bruna. They planned this with her.

David reluctantly settled so that he could continue his legal fight. If you didn't know lawyers are expensive. If he didn't settle, he would have had to give up his fight for Sean then and there and that was not acceptable.

And by the way, yes David has a job. However it has been very expensive for him to fly back and forth to Brazil and when he went, the family would not show up for his scheduled visitation with Sean. He went back to the U.S countless times never being allowed by them to see Sean.

I hope that you never have to experience your spouse taking your child to another country and then not allowing you to see him. Is he an opportunist? No. you are a slanderer, talking about things when you don't know ANY of the facts. Do some research

Lastly, do you know that Sean left his grandmother a message by phone? "Hi , Nonna. I am here already. I AM VERY HAPPY. Kisses, tchau." That speaks for itself. The right side won. Period.

I know exactly that he has talked with the Grandma and sms he sent. It could have been easily manipulated by David....who says it wasn't? I do think he is happy with his dad, but it's not like he wasn't happy before... On American tv all make it sound as if he has finally been saved.... saved from what? Let's see how this saga will continue... because it's not over.

One more thing... didn't David spread all over America that his wife married a man... while she was married to him...? How about that fact... you do not make comment? As mentioned... after two years... if you filed for separation and divorce... even if the other does not accept, you can be considered divorced, after the judge decides so. It's clear that he used this to show he was a poor lovely man that has be innocently left. I just ask... read facts from both sides before saying he is right!

I think you see only the facts that he pointed out on his side and you do not know the other side of the coin. And yes, I do think he is a opportunist because he has been living and going thru this saga , counting on donations... and now is planning on taking 500 thousand dollars from Bruna's parents... saying that's what it cost him. Well, if it's donation money, it didn't really cost him anything... so clearly it shows a bad character there.

So far as I know it, Bruna was the one that had to work as a teacher to pay the big bills at home since David's job did not really help at all...maybe to pay eletricity! He worked in what after all... selling houses on the internet during his free time at home... and telling his son that his mom, Bruna didn't love him, since she didn't spend time with him. He had to stay at home since he was an old model that didn't have jobs coming in and was only able to stay home... in his so called work.

As any lawyers know... and maybe you should read as well... there are many phases in a case... and am sure if he had a court order that should permit visitation that would have been done. While Bruna was alive he never really cared about insisting and coming. She left him for reasons he doesn't really say... as if nothing was wrong. Therefore is normal that she didn't want to have that much contact with him... but if he did have a positive court rulling he would have been able to see his son.

1. Bruna said so her self that he was a good husband and father the only reason she left him was because she wanted to go back to Brazil because she did not like working as a teacher and she wanted to be in brazil to live the rich life with her family..

2. If David would have went by there rules he would have never been able to see/bring Sean home with him because that was Bruna's families plan, was to trap him in so he could not get around to bringing Sean back to the states..

David knew that Bruna didn't have money and who did was the parents. SO he inserted the parents name in the process and accepted them to pay their way out since they were well known people and this could ruin their image. So in a way that's what I call blackmail!!! They used a court case, to involve the grandparents so that they would pay him to take them out. Unacceptable is him using this to get money to pay for the court case he started. And yes, I know lawyers are expensive and am a lawyer.

I know cases like this all the time... but what I can tell you he is not completely a saint as he is presenting himself. He could have found a different way to pay the lawyers... and not black mail his parents in law.

Who kidnapped the child was Bruna... because she didn't have permition to take Sean for more than the holidays that David authorized. Only after that date is that you can consider that this was a kidnap as well as should blame Bruna only. She went to her parents house and stayed there. Any parent would not let their children in the streets... if they are planning to separate and had nowhere else to go.

I just read this guy David will ask USD 500K from the brazilian family.

He said that he spent more than 400K trying to get his son back, what he didn't say is that most of this money came from donations.

I guess getting a real job is not in his plans...

I am so happy for David and Sean Goldman. I am sure he will adjust to being HOME again and his dad will do a great job with him. I went through a similar sitiation with a Step-daughter who came to live with her Dad and I in 1995. She is now 26 yrs old, a college graduate and very well adjusted. She had an alcoholic and drug addicted Mom. Showed no rebellion and never wanted to go home to her mother. They speak a few times a yr and daughter cant stand her drunken mother.

Typical of white kids, watch his son go through a period of rebelliousness throughout his teenage years only to then become an adult who hates his father and who will eventually distance himself from the person who fought to have him back. He'll use the threat of running back to his Brazillian family so he can get his way. With white kids it's best to just let them go because they will end up hating whoever their parents are anyway. White kids are notorious for being ungrateful and spoiled.

BTW, the kid did not call his dad "Dad" yet because it's way too soon. This is normal in this case and not a sign of "psicological abuse".

I am happy for the boy's return to his dad but I don't believe he has been psicologically abused during the time with his brazilian family. He seems to be a very well adjusted kid.

I think the dad has all rights of staying with his son but I hope he can take care of the kid, I heard he's kind of a bum, does he have a job??? I head that that's why his wife left him. Must suck being married to a loser.

Abducting a child and not letting the other spouse visit the child is abuse and is evil. I know moms have more rights than men on family courts and you say can Mr. Goldman take care of his son... BTW, my neighboor pays child support for her loser ex-husband, although their daughter spends most of the time with the mother.

After all, I think the outcome of this story was right and fair, I just hope this guy doesn't turn into a John Gosselin trying to get a living off his child and media apearances.

Yea and my best friend pays child support for his 'loser' ex wife who doesn't work, don't spend time with the kids, and is only living off of his child support money. You don't want single fathers to be like John Gosselin, I agree with you, but I also don't want single mothers to be like Paris Hilton. I'm Brazilian and I'm so happy because things ended up in favor of Mr. Goldman! Thank God I was suffering with his ordeal. I was missing justice in my country.
