  • linkin for download

  • compared to other distros it is hard unless you activate the ADE which alot of people cant do. i didnt and i got wine running fine but it took alot of time which alot of people dont like, and its those kind of people that will by an eeepc cuz its cheap.

im not tupid with linux, ive used alot of types including non GUI ones so dont say its cuz i have no experience with the unix kernel

  • Where you download this?

  • Google

  • I could run it PERFECTLY 9 years ago. This is nothing impressive.

  • its on a netbook

  • would this work on the vaio p?

  • Where did u get Mario 64 for computer??? =D

  • its running via an n64 emulator

  • Wow your a fucking idiot!

  • its extremely hard to put wine in on one of these though compared to other linux distros

  • are u using linux or xp? if ur using xp..whered u download it from?

  • that an XP ??? using vista interface

  • send that to me in yahoo mail

  • I have an Asus Eee 700 series like yours, But im not sure whether or not I should change mine from linux to windows.

    any ideas?

  • If you want to do gaming like you see in any of these vids xp is a must. Id say base ur choice on that.

  • Why vista? Why not XP or linux?

  • It is XP sp3. I wouldnt ever put vista on this machine. Its just skinned to look like vista.

  • (@MRauron)

If you're going to play games on it why linux? You won't get much working then. Also if vista ran that smooth on the EeePC and was able to play games that well why not vista?

  • stupid. you just make vista look good (its CRAP!) why not just a more funky XP theme?

  • and why would anyone want an old mac?

  • The Eee looks like a decent little machine for the money, but personally I'm holding off for the 12 gig 9" model. I've tried a couple 700s but found the screen a little cramped. (Especially since most web pages assume you've got 1024x768 nowadays.)

But still, running games and emulators this well on an ultraportable laptop with a 900mhz processor, all for under $500? Tech sure has come a long way since I got my Powerbook Duo.

  • You should take a look at the Flipstart, not only have I been running many N64 games on it flawlessly, I have also been playing Halo, Jedi Outkast, Swat 4, C&C, Renegade. I have about 30 games installed to its hard disk.

  • Yeh same here im waiting on the Eee pc 900.

I cant believe the things people play on the Eee pc.

  • Not perfect frame rate, but still Not bad.

  • I think it's the video recorder

  • O .

  • i want your backdrop.

  • Cant remember teh exact file name, if i find it again ill let u know.

It was on deviant art i belive under wallpapers/vector or something of that nature.

  • thank you :)

  • You officially sold me on the eee PC. It looks like its one hell of a little speed demon, thank you!

I'll be selling my dell XPS for this little bad boy. I'm tired of lugging my XPS around.

  • Thank you very much

  • Thank you, one more question though, if i already have a computer with windows xp would there be any way to copy it and put it on a disk or a thumb drive(USB) to put on another laptop or computer?

  • Np ask all the questions you want.

Nope that wont be possible. You cant take a installed xp and save it on anything to use as an installer.

You will need a xp install cd/dvd. Many ppl just download it though i cant reccomend that as its illegal ;)

Remember, for installing xp off of a cd/dvd you will need a external dvd/cd rom since the Eee pc does not have an optical drive. Simple fix is to buy a 20$ dvd rom for a full size pc and stick it in a external enclosure. Thats what i did.

  • where did you get the dvd rom from for 20 bucks?

  • Does the asus eee pc come with a copy of windows xp or do you have to buy it separately?

  • They only give u the permission to install it. Youll have to have ur own copy.

  • That is so cool! It's hard to believe that a budget computer can run a 64 game so smoothly. Even my semi-powerful desktop has trouble with full screen. It is amazing how much technology has advanced! I can't wait for my Cloudbook now.

  • are you using xp.does xp lag with ur specs of the asus.

  • Yes using XP, no doesnt lag at all. Boots xp in about 15-18 seconds, everything runs quite fast. (i am using 2gb ddr2 667 ram) Ill post up a vid of boot times along with general xp use to show the speed. Very smooth.

  • Honestly its as easy as on any pc. Im not using any special drivers or any sort of "hacks or mods" its the normal eee pc out of the box. Only thing i did was up the ram to 2gb.

Very easy to run in full screen. Some games by default go full screen, some wont fit the screen 100%. Runs great!
