our brass section blew away otsego every year ive been in this program bc we dont just go out and over blow and the only reason they beat us this year was bc our music and marching judge was portage centrals director and he was just pissed bc we beat them at grandville and im sure uve never been in our band

I was there! I'm a senior in the olivet high school marching band. I play trumpet. that was a great show you guys schooled the shit out of us lol. but we're a class c school and played in class a so we were expecting to lose. great experiance though. love marching at east kentwood

It is a very entertaining show with amazing percussion - now they just need to work on their brass section (I was in marching band there, and it's never really been strong). I was at the Jenison competition this past weekend - Otsego sounded INCREDIBLE!

I'm from Beavercreek and I've got to say I thought your show Saturday was pretty cool. I didn't really like the amount of dancing you did, but it did have a nice effect. And your drumline is amazing, and I was surprised you only beat us by .1 points in percussion.

This show is pretty awesome too.

Our band this year isn't that good but we might improve on somethings so it might be a little better. But last year when we did this performance, it was awsome. Best time of my life. and everyone that wants to join band, do it. it's alot of fun

i enjoyed this performance every time i saw it, though i don't think this is one of the competitions we went to.

The drumline is sloppier than I've ever heard it. It helps when your band teacher was also a first-rate percussionist...and simply knew wtf he was doing. Bennett got "emotion" out of the band...here it just sounds like they're just "blowing their horn".

Thenk you Mr. Bennett for giving me 4 of the best musical years of my life.

We had a hell of a band, and an incredible music program until Jeffery Bennett left and they brought in some little closet queen.

EKHS Music Department suffers with his absence. I was fucking proud to be a part of that band during those years - and still am. Those kids today don't have a clue what that was like, nor will they ever, and they don't sound like they have any pride in what they're playing. Such a shame.

hey, i'm at East Kentwood right now, and you need to think about what you're saying here. I haven't seen our band from when Mr. Bennett was around, but you can't just put down your own school like that. Maybe there are some people who aren't hyped about marching, but there are plenty of us out there who are leaving it all on the field every time we play. Oh, and marching band isn't even required any more, so the fact that there's still about 250 of us can say something aobut our dedication.

I had the other Mr. Benett when I was in HS at East Kentwood he left the year I grad. from EK 98'. Anyway loved the show from last year. Keep it up. I just wish EK was as good as you guys but ever since they lost Mr. Benett they suck.
