i had a 220 bhp mi16 powerd 205 that was sooo much fun iv now got a 2.2 vtec powerd crx which makes around the same power but alot more raw 2 drive also its alot more reliable and is faster but i love both cars

I am the owner of the 106, only saw this video for the 1st time last week, after reading some comments would like to clarify the only mods to the car was an induction kit, full decat stainless system, and a fast road clutch......thats it. I thought i did pretty well against a car i was told had 170bhp!! Raced a civic jordan watch the vid c the result..
I personally think the pug gti goes well for there power but at the same time the crx vt goes even better, good old japs, they get it right pretty well all the time but at the same time im not pulling the french down as the pug 106 gti lump they have made well considering they're no performance engine makers,

Honestly...these people who drive french cars that slate vtec really annoy me man....a honda or any jap car for that matter will run up and down the 1/4 mile all day long even with 150+k on the clock then drive home and not miss a beat, f uck yer french cars would never even see that kind of mileage let alone take the abuse a jap car can.....and as for thinking that a 106 gti would have a chance against a crx vt dream on....honestly it wouldnt even beat a crx 1.6 16v non vtec
Reason i know this is because i compete in the road going 1400cc-1800cc class at sprints and after looking at just about every car that we could use the CRX came out on top. It's only bad point is its weight and it's not that really heavy because it's old. Those 106's are a nice looking car though. The CRX is very, well different.
It still has incredibly low drag even by todays standards hence a 136mph top speed and 0-60 in just over 7 secs even with a shoddy driver from a car with 150bhp in uk trim. it even carries 100kgs more than most hot hatches. They quite happily keep up with clio 172s at the drag strip and are less than 2seconds slower to 100 than the clio despite having a big chunk less torque and power and this is all from the standard car! I love all hot hatches. You have to give the CRX the repects it deserves!
The CRX vtec or not really is in a class all on it's own. It had more tech thrown at than most other cars of the time. I love my XR2 but i'm not deluded that if my XR2 was fully modded and put against a fully modded CRX that i would win. just look at the CRX it was designed with performance in mind from the ground up and isn't a modded shopping trolley like most hot hatches.
GTi's are more of a handful than a CRX you would have to be a good driver to take on a CRX at the track. A modded GTi against a standard CRX and i agree with your comment but both modded....
Feckin sweet! CRX did a good job, those gti 106's and vts saxos can be ruddy quick for what they are with a bit of a tune. Likin the in-car tuneage aswell . Hopin to bring ma prelude to crail at some point for giggles.

thats correct, most 106 GTI / Saxo VTS run 0-100km/h in under 7,5sec STOCK! some of them in under 7sec stock!, I've never seen a GTI/VTS with only 120hp, a mate of me has 136hp with a GTI without any modifications, his old GTI had 175hp and he had a 14,1 on 1/4 mile, that is pretty quick!
a 106gti is around 7.5s stock to 60mph, none of them are under 7s but it is very easily achievable. when i had one it was at 150bhp and i could see off a civic type r to 130mph! (i didnt like going much over because the doors began to squeel!)

@billycrxvt ........... dont want to piss on your fire mate but my 106 gti has done 175k, all original internals head gasket and cambelt changed 3 times each! and i know someone whos 406 hdi has 256000 miles on it and still going strong....... and both still very reliable!!

I am the owner of the 106, only saw this video for the 1st time last week, after reading some comments would like to clarify the only mods to the car was an induction kit, full decat stainless system, and a fast road clutch......thats it. I thought i did pretty well against a car i was told had 170bhp!! Raced a civic jordan watch the vid c the result..

I personally think the pug gti goes well for there power but at the same time the crx vt goes even better, good old japs, they get it right pretty well all the time but at the same time im not pulling the french down as the pug 106 gti lump they have made well considering they're no performance engine makers,

Honestly...these people who drive french cars that slate vtec really annoy me man....a honda or any jap car for that matter will run up and down the 1/4 mile all day long even with 150+k on the clock then drive home and not miss a beat, f uck yer french cars would never even see that kind of mileage let alone take the abuse a jap car can.....and as for thinking that a 106 gti would have a chance against a crx vt dream on....honestly it wouldnt even beat a crx 1.6 16v non vtec

Reason i know this is because i compete in the road going 1400cc-1800cc class at sprints and after looking at just about every car that we could use the CRX came out on top. It's only bad point is its weight and it's not that really heavy because it's old. Those 106's are a nice looking car though. The CRX is very, well different.

It still has incredibly low drag even by todays standards hence a 136mph top speed and 0-60 in just over 7 secs even with a shoddy driver from a car with 150bhp in uk trim. it even carries 100kgs more than most hot hatches. They quite happily keep up with clio 172s at the drag strip and are less than 2seconds slower to 100 than the clio despite having a big chunk less torque and power and this is all from the standard car! I love all hot hatches. You have to give the CRX the repects it deserves!

The CRX vtec or not really is in a class all on it's own. It had more tech thrown at than most other cars of the time. I love my XR2 but i'm not deluded that if my XR2 was fully modded and put against a fully modded CRX that i would win. just look at the CRX it was designed with performance in mind from the ground up and isn't a modded shopping trolley like most hot hatches.

GTi's are more of a handful than a CRX you would have to be a good driver to take on a CRX at the track. A modded GTi against a standard CRX and i agree with your comment but both modded....

Feckin sweet! CRX did a good job, those gti 106's and vts saxos can be ruddy quick for what they are with a bit of a tune. Likin the in-car tuneage aswell . Hopin to bring ma prelude to crail at some point for giggles.

Its a fair result...I own a 106 Gti with filter-full exhaust and remaping and i can beat a stock vtec up to third gear.after my third gear hondas beat me...its not bad to say the truth!

the crx comes standard with 160bhp.mine has full de cat system.aem cold air induction.lightened flywheel.stripped to shell in rear with harnesses.i am sure a lot would dissagree about a 106 gti with 160bhp. beating any kind of vtec honda to be honest.

thats correct, most 106 GTI / Saxo VTS run 0-100km/h in under 7,5sec STOCK! some of them in under 7sec stock!, I've never seen a GTI/VTS with only 120hp, a mate of me has 136hp with a GTI without any modifications, his old GTI had 175hp and he had a 14,1 on 1/4 mile, that is pretty quick!

a 106gti is around 7.5s stock to 60mph, none of them are under 7s but it is very easily achievable. when i had one it was at 150bhp and i could see off a civic type r to 130mph! (i didnt like going much over because the doors began to squeel!)
that 106 gti in the video looks horrible tho, it just looks like the back axle is fucked! no need for people to lower it so much lol
