Hitler himself told Finnish Marshall Mannerheim that "Instead of preparing to fight in winter conditions, we made tests to prove that fighting during winter is impossible." Basicly. The Germans relied on Quailty and the Allies on Qaunity. Which obviously gave the allies the advantage knowing they coulden't match in quality so they just focused on Qaunity building hordes of shitty tanks like the sherman agaisnt the Quality of the tigers, Panthers etc. So this war was one sided. But Germany deserves respect for taking on most of the world which no nation will EVER be able to do again in this day and age.

@Rhexx18 The only problem was for 1 tiger there were at least 20 T-34s ;) The Germans had the greatest technical advances in the military but didn't seem to grasp the simple of idea of war. U need something simple that can kill something else. Statistically the Tiger was great but in practice it was fucking annoying to take care of it if u could actually manage to get it to the battlefield. It was so heavy it was even hard to move around in bad terrain ... which you'd find in war everywhere.

Haha! well, the only good thing the us had was the thompson but it stood no chance against the stg 44, a isolated group of german soliders was trapped in soviet and had no way out, they got a air drop of 5000 stg 44`s and they made their way out. The us and soviet soliders were afraid of this weapon along with the tigertanks and mg42. Do some research, nazi germany had the weapons. Hope we see the reich rise again.

@powderrider700 The Mg-42 used up too much ammo, something that the Germans were running out of by 1944. The Stg 44 was nice, but showed up way too late and in too few numbers. The Tiger had a breakdown rate of over 40% on any given day, four times higher than American tanks.

The average Tiger Battalion fielded only 30 Tigers in a unit of over 50. American tanks broke down less and were easy to repair. The M1 was a great rifle, so was the Bren gun and PPSH.

@TheLoyalOfficer mg-42 was the best machine gun of ww2, easy and cheap to produce and to maintain, very quick barrel change,...it used up a lot of ammo but never mind they shot burst most of the time and sometimes full auto to pin down the enemy (on omaha beach one mg42 gunner is said to have killed 3000 aliied soldiers)

the panther is considered to be the best german ww2 tank not the tiger
