  • I've been using a lot of Hakan lately and the only character I have trouble against while using Hakan is Boxer. Anyone got any tips or strategies for that match up?

  • I thought his ultra 2 usage was awesome. Good for catching people just landing, risk is higher on already grounded opponents. It has a lot less start up too, so it's better for using on reaction and punishing whiffs moves. I think U1 is great for fireballs and combo potential of course. The fact that you can control the charge makes it so much better. It leaves you with a little margin of error to work within, while U1 does not give you that.

  • @dkukov yeah but you can jump it on reaction so i think ultra 1 will come out on top for abel

  • @jackhudson1392 it's best not to use random but as an anti-air, in which it excells. Or as a long range punish (1 hit fireballs for example)

    Though the speed of U1s startup means it also cannot punish a lot of whiffs that U2 can.

    The use of either ultra is going to be match specific.

  • @keroberus2 U1 has more combo options though U2 has 1. Ultra 2 can be beat by broken armour moves which ultra 1 would simply hit them. U2 only good for now because people not used to it.

    U1 = combo potential, fireball punish, but most whiffed moves it cannot punish.

    U2= If you don't use it RANDOMLY, you can PUNISH a lot of moves. "Can be beat", if you use it unsafe, obviously. You don' tuse it off the bat.

    And if you do and they jump, you can cancel U2 and anti air.

    U2 is still good, for different reasons, meaning different matchups will require it.

    I think he thinks his Guile probably isn't ready for a big tournament yet. Also, Guile vs. Abel is a bad match for Guile and pretty good for Boxer since his option selects can shut down a lot of Abel's options.
