  • If sushi is one of your favourite foods you can try making raw sushi! Or if not, you could still try making your own sushi with short grain brown rice and vegan ingredients.

I find with raw foods it's best to slowly transition. Start introducing more greens into your diet by a smoothie in the morning, salad at lunch, and either a cooked meal or an adventurous raw food meal. I love raw desserts as well, like raw vegan eggnog!

  • Hope this helps! and best of luck I hope your still trying at it, it really works, you shouldnt think of it as a diet, more of a lifestyle, and keep watching others for inspiration :)

  • you know you already like. Maybe look up some simple dressing recipes, or enjoy the individual flavours of the veggies as is.

    4) Maybe starting off would be easiest if you go start by only having one cooked meal a day- and make it a veggie stir fry or a wrap (avoid meats, or you'll keep craving them) Then have a cooked meal every 2 days, then every 3, then one day just say thats it. I want these foods in the way my body knows how to deal with them (so they get USED and not stored)

  • You need to aim at getting each day. So figure out how many calories each food has (ex. banana about 100) and kinda keep track that your getting enough. green Smoothies are a great way to get alot of calories, I recommend keeping it simple (one or 2, 3 at the most types of fruits and try to mind the combination rules) THEY ARE SOOO GOOD!

    2) Watch other testimonials or weightloss on the raw diet to get inspiration.

    3) Keep recipes simple so you dont get discouraged, just mix up asalad of things

  • Hey! Congrats on the efforts, thats where it all starts! :) I have a couble tips that have helped me:

    1) go out and buy beautiful food, and LOTS of it!! you seem to have done alot of reasearch so you know that you need to eat a lot of food to meet your calories, they either come from fruit or fats (veggies have hardly any) and you only want about 11-20% of your daily calories coming from fats. I've heard for healthy weightloss you take your weight and times that by 10 and thats howmany calories

  • are you reading any inspirational raw food books? those are very important in becoming raw... you should read the raw food detox diet by natalia rose, it helped me transition into 100% raw, i know what you mean about social situations; it can be kind of hard- also many don't know much about the raw food diet is PLANT based raw foods (not sushi, lol) this book is good because it talks about food combining, also are you vegetable juicing? that is very important in the raw food diet

  • That was interesting info about heating the food.. not going above certain degrees I must look that one up... cos i slightly warm up my salads/raw food.?? mmm. I been on raw food diet for 2 weeks now, but its not totally raw yet - I do have some protein/chicken.. so dont know what that makes it??.. 50% raw..? dont know..anyhow I am feeling and looking much better.. Good luck..

  • RAW foods is a lifestyle embrace it!

  • I trying too!!!!

  • eatting raw food is great! you will lose alot of weight and you will feel great too. when your body get uses of raw food you won't miss cook food. i've been raw for months now and i feel great and lost weight. good luck!

  • How is it going for you so far let me know if I can help!

  • thanks, I apprecitate your input. :)

  • Sis you can do it!!! Eating raw is changing my life and one can only want that for another person.

I'd suggest looking up some raw versions of your favorite cooked foods. Raw cook books like "Rawvolution" helped me bunches. You'd be surprised how close they taste to the original.

Stick with it and you feel amazing.

In the beginning you crave what your body's releasing. The faster you release the toxins, the faster you dont want them anymore..

    Good luck!!

  • thank you, I appreciate it, I can not wait fo rthe day, when I no longer want cooked food, and my life and psycical body are working in optimal performance. Please stay in touch. :)

  • Good Luck!

Hope you lose weight and become super healthy (this is the best part of eating raw).

    :)

  • thank you, so far I am doing good.

  • You can do it I know people say that all the time:) I never tried this on but i have tried many:( the only one every work for me was lo~carbs and weight watchers?

  • THanks. I keep falling off the bandwagon, but I feel that if I hang in there eventually I can do it.

  • Great attitude to have! I know you can do it!

  • Me too, I say never stop trying right!

  • wow, that's quite an undertaking but i'm sure it will be worth it!! :))

  • Keep it up girl. I started at 400lbs and went raw and lost 132lbs so far... My entire world has changed. You got a great personality and I know you can do it. If dinner is your tough time, go high in fats for dinner for now. Hit up a few avocados, nuts, oil, the whole deal. I did that and still saw the weight fly off. Make a nut pate and mix it in with a salad... have fun with it. Much love to you! You can do it.

  • Your my inspiration, I can not wait until I loose all my weight. I lost everything by being this large. I hit rock bottom, and that's when I decided to change.

  • You hang in there girl!! I know what you are going through. You are starting off fine. The cravings will go away. Remember you have been eating "cooked" for all your life. You are changing not only what you eat but how you feel about food. Don't worry about your friends and family do this for yourself. I have been on and off for 4 years.(I have to depend sometimes on family for food and they aren't raw) YES you will START TO CRAVE RAW FOOD.

  • thank you, I am NOW STARTING TO CRAVE RAW FOOD

  • It was easier for me not to define the percentage, just go with it. If your going to eat cooked don't eat with guilt or beat yourself up, just accept that your on your way, you'll still have major changes, and eventually the cooked food you craved becomes unappealing and you'll crave it less and less. :)

  • thanks, I really want this to work, I can't wait until my body stops craving cooked food.

  • Hi Hon! Advice: Don't think of it as a diet. It is truly a lifestyle change. The cravings are normal. 100% raw instantly is not for everyone. Do a transition of high raw at first. Do raw for breakfast and lunch and then cooked dinner. Are you subscribed to fastinggurl31? Watch the raw food challenge and her other raw food vids. She is a guru in her own right.

  • I'm going to attach some of my old vids to show you what I found the little while I did it. I'll also send you an email with some great sites. The more you read, the better you'll do, too. You are not attempting. You are DOING it. Progress comes in stages. Be more positive. Cheering for you!

  • oh, I can't wait, thank you. :)

  • thanks, I have to remind myself everyday that it's not a diet, I have watched fastinggirl's vid's, I think once I buy a dehydrator, my craving will subside.
