SimCity 4 Short - What You Can Do With Add-Ons

When I downloaded the Bank of Simcity, I loaded the game and all it shows is one huge box that is tied up. Please help?

@Gungamathic you need to check your emails for the confirmation email, inside that there will be a link you need to complete registration =) If you can't find it, check your junk folder.

@XBOXNationTVHD SimCity 4 is still the most popular, the later SimCity Societies is not liked by most of the SC4 community due to it's limited options. SimCity 4 is the most pleasing and the biggest SimCity game available, despite it's age.

@XBOXNationTVHD  check if the buildings are growable or ploppable, if they're ploppable they're most probably going to be found in the Landmarks menu, if they're growable you need to zone for them to appear.

do landmarks help the city other than providing a better skyline?

@MrTheBeast I'm not entirely sure but I think that they boost the desirability of the area...

@MrTheBeast Landmarks do whatever the creator programmed them to do. Stock ones make a better skyline, and make it nicer desirability. Custom ones can do many many things, depending on whats asked. They can provide jobs, power, water, remove garbage, police, fire etc.

some are not made with lights but some times they come with a separate download that makes the building light up but since that was 4 weeks ago u probably already found out =P

This is probably a dumb question, but where do you save all of this stuff. Like what folder do i put it in?

@TWorrall026 it's not a dumb question at all =) Once you've downlaoded the file to any folder (e.g., My Downloads), right click it and select 'Extract To', then browse to My Documents/SimCity 4/Plugins and select 'Extract'. You'll need SimCity4 Deluxe or Rush Hour for plugins to work, though.

sorry but i already knew this cheat.... even though i already know this , i never use it because you know why? I once downloaded too many stuffs for the plugin and one of them somehow gives color for the buildings that should be locked. This means i can build things like mayor's house more than once (thousands if i wanted to) and allows me to build anything i want =) pretty awesome aye?

People.. this video is really outdated as this is long before the NWM, NAM May 2010 and RHW 4.0, and not just that, I have a city with more mods/addons than ever! This was made when I was 'ameteur' at SC4 and I am now a bit better =) Check the video response for SimCity 4 Preview.. It's my first in HD too =)

ya, i have to ask. I'm a veteran SC4 city maker and my damn addon's lights wont work at night. I've tried the patches and they don't work

@Randgod86 Lots of people have that problem. Most with that problem find that if you zoom in they work. go to the web page that you downloaded the lights from and see if anyone else has had those problems. the only other thing that I can think of is that you have simcity 4 normal. I think they only work on rush hour/ deluxe.

@Randgod86 : Check your graphic settings. I had the same problem with other things. Put your graphic settings up to maximum and that might fix it.

It's amazing but er how do you get the lights to work I have downloaded them and exstacted and put them in the pluges folder but I can't find them in the game
