@TheTumTimTum IIit is a indeed BoR, it is how people training for strength have done them for a long time. Perhaps you are more familiar with the more common bodybuilding style row, where the bar does not go to the floor each rep, or the newer nomenclature "Pendlay Row" to describe an explosive row from the floor.
@Kiknskreem When you put the weight down on the floor between each repetition you release all the tension in your muscles, making your training ineffective.
Reduce weight if you don't manage to hold the bar up through your sets.
Finally someone who got it, I admire your form and execution!
This is how you train for strength, not by doing 15+ slow reps 'until you feel the burn', like other videos will make you believe. Screw the burn. Raise the weight and get stronger.
Ok, so where are you supposed to stop? I haven`t done them for a while but remember when I used to do them it was very difficult to pull the bar further than 3 inches from my stomach. Is that good enough?
For strength training purposes these usually use a full RoM. For aesthetics it doesn't really matter so long as you hit the muscles you want and avoid injury.
Very nice.

@Kiknskreem nope, that's just a weak yates' row.

@TheTumTimTum This exercise predates the "Yates Row" by oh, just a couple of decades. Open your mind and learn something.

I thought with BOR`s you had to touch your belly button with the bar. Or should you? Where should you stop instead?
paolo27th 2 years ago
That's something bodybuilders do to change the way the movement hits the lats. I train for powerlifting.
