San Franciso's Urban Beekeeping Movement Takes Off

People should be aware of the negatives of urban beekeeping. The bees are attracted to lights at night, so the entrance should not be facing lights. Honeybees are prone to swarming which can be quite problematic when the bees move into a neighbours wall cavity. Urban beekeeping wont solve the problem of CCD. It can be a problem when people lose interest in the bees. The hive can get run down which allows AFB & Small Hive Beetle to spread. This is what I've found in my area. Happy Beekeeping.
