Thanks for the comment, I would be interested in peeping out some type of controller for my MacBook. Any info you can give me would be appreciated. ~One Love
@Mister42Zero I think that the real question is what do U want to use to make Ur music because U can play along with Ur PC and a controller like the Akais and it'll work good!
So, you're telling me that your software controller has more response and has the sensitivity and manipulation my keys have on my Roland XP-80? I really doubt it. I doubt it is as capable as my Roland MV-8800 either. But, who knows. I can see the software being more superior. Cause in reality, if you wanna get technical, my XP-80 and MV-8800 both, have software that run them. It's just not Windows or Mac OS. I can see software on PCs greater and more capable than the software on my XP-80 & 8800.
Even if I am sequencing, I would rather play than drag and drop. Not much emotion unless you can actually play it. Even sequencing or editing beats, if I can play something and keep it raw without quantize and make it sound tight, I will. If i can't pull it off, then I will use quantize. Makes the music more real. Gives it a more live sound. That's all RZA is talking about. Playing as opposed to drag and drop.
Now, what do you use your PadKontrol with? What software? Fruity Loops, Reason?
I highly doubt that fam. I'd be willing to be that he along with a lot of other heavy hitters, hear and learn about all the new technology way before the norm do. Besides that, you're missing the point. If you're using a controller with software, you are playing something. That's what he was talking about. Actually playing something and not just draggin and droppin with a mouse. I've played guitar since 1983. I play drums, bass, sequence. I would much rather play something.
Much respect to Rza but must be really outta touch.....there is a thing called software controller , and some of them have features that can compete with, or even surpass some hardware controllers...I use PadKontrol myself for bangin out drums and samples and it works for me....
