Digital Devil Saga Avatar Tuner Opening American Version

Sometimes I prefer this version, sometimes I prefer the Japanese one. But I do know that I REALLY don't like the ending of this version.

I first heard this is 2004 when DDS was just coming out, I had Etro Anime's CD "See the sound" and thought... where have a heard this before? and before I knew it, I realized it was from their CD and kept DDS ever since, ATLUS knows how to choose good music for their game OP and have it relate to the game's story.. (unlike SE and FFXIII...)

I love this song~ the original opening w/ Pray has it charms, but i feel like this song fits the mood of the game a lot more :D

@Crok425 - It's unique to the American version of the game. The Japanese version used a song called "Pray," which is nowhere near as good IMHO. I'm guessing Atlus was unable to get the rights to that song for American distribution, so they replaced it with this one... and for a change, I actually think the replacement is far superior to the original. As do most people, it seems!

But yeah, since the soundtrack was published based on the Japanese version, this song isn't on it.

Ok the american opening has nothing to do with the game and its very much a poor choice of song. the origional japanese opening is far better. Im glad we kept that on in the EU

I think the american one is better since this is a dark and gritty game. The helplessness that these warriors feel when all they've been doing is killing and eating each other is pronounced in the song. When they relate to the other tribes like Lupa, they start to remember their humanity. They feel something is wrong. It illustrates the human spirit to persevere and seek the truth rather than just kill or be killed. Won't spoil for anyone but there is a great twist end.

I actually don't like the PAL/JAP song. It's related to the plot, but the singer really sings off-cue and it's unclimatic. I think this song connects more to the feel of the soundtrack.

Best RPG i've ever played. might only give it 8 or 9/10 gamplay wise, but it gets a fuckin 11/10 story, voice acting, and ability to give me a lump in my throat on SEVERAL occasions. Oh and the music is oh so badass.

It's not on the discs. The beginning song to the American version is called Danger and done by Etro Anime. (Since it's done by a different person I think that's why it's not on the OST?)
