  • Yowzers! I had no idea The Everly Brothers had done there own version of this immortal British ballad. Exquisite (as is all their work)! THANK YOU for posting this delightful "blast from the past"....you've MADE my day & week! CHEERS! :-)

  • LUV ´EM !

  • This song is so perfect for the Everly's harmony!

  • I would love to see them singing the "lengthy version!"

  • WOW, LONG LIVE DON & PHIL....!!

  • Wow, has there ever been a more true harmony that these two wonderful guys? AWESOME...Thank you Loretta (justmusicandme) for sharing it with me..:):)

Love and Hugs from Georgia, Joyce ♥xx:)

  • Thank you Loretta for sending this Everly Brothers Classic song. I hope this will stay here this time. Thank you Roodgelejukebox for posting.

  • @ebfan41, master class in harmony here!!! Love it too [plus it's fun hearing Don talk]!!!

  • @AGibsonJ : It's also fun hearing Phil say, "Mine asked for my checkbook!" LOL!!

  • @justmusicandme LOL Loretta, I"ve always wondered what it is that Phil says that makes the audience laugh after they sing this song. I've watched the DVD so many times trying to figure this out and just by chance read the answer in your comment..

  • @justmusicandme, I almost dropped my appletini when I heard Phil's comment, lol!!!

  • @justmusicandme Might I ask for my check book. I think its a reference to them having been apart.

  • @noahwayne : I'm sure he said. "Mine asked for my checkbook" - in reference to alimony payments, no doubt! I believe he was twice-divorced at that time. That's the way I heard it, anyway.

  • @justmusicandme The conversation preceding this performance dicussed their seperation and the fact that they were friends again...I assumed Phil was asking for the cheque book because it was still in Dons possession.

  • @noahwayne Oh well, I say bananas and you say banahnahs ! Who knows what Baby Boy Phil said? LOL! (I think my perceived version is funnier, though LOL)

  • @justmusicandme So Im right then lol....One thing though the harmony here is stunning. Just wished they had recorded a SODTU type album during this period. I've been in touch with Edan recently so I may suggest it..

  • @noahwayne : Maybe you could ask Edan to ask his Uncle Phil what he really said! LOL!

  • @justmusicandme Phil is replying to the last line of the song"and all she said when she got there, young man i think you're dying" he then replies "mine asked for my cheque book.

  • Thanks for posting! One version of this song was recently removed (!) and I'm glad to see this one here.

  • @justmusicandme - timing is everything - I'm in a 60-voice men's chorus that just performed this last Saturday and Sunday. What are the odds . . . . . . ?

  • @chkjns: Sounds nice! You should get a recording and post that!

  • @justmusicandme - our group leaders are worried about copyright problems, but they did have a pro record the whole program!

  • @justmusicandme HI Loretta, not sure what is wrong with your player.. sorry,,, love this share... many thanks xx

  • @justmusicandme Thank you for sharing this with me.
