And just for the record, the chords & tempo of Engine Driver are similar to Dave Matthews' Big Eyed Fish. I like to play Big Eyed Fish on guitar and seque into Engine Driver lyrics. The Decemberists and DMB are both great bands.

The Space Between opening notes is what he is referring to, but the Engine Driver is much better. I used to be a huge DMB geek and now I am a huge DeceMBerists geek. I must have an affinity to intelligent lyrics...

Colin does have the occasional touch of Dave Matthews, The Beatles and Oasis in his songs, but that's okay. It could be alot worse, see pachelbel rant by paravonian.
(Besides I enjoy the Beatles, DM and wonderwall era Oasis.
