Did everything you said and it worked a treat. If you click port search and it does nothing you need the samsung pc studio software first. Then it will let you port search and download to the phone. I am running Mac os X leopard and its sweet! Thanks for your help!

great tutorial for flashing phones, but isn't that a lil extreme just to install java apps & games? why do it that way & why go through all that? all you have to do is put the jar file on a memory card in the root of it, called for example 1.jar then open the phones web browser, select enter url & type in file:///Mount/Mmc/1,jar and click go, doesn't even connect to the net :D no sd card? put jar on phone and use file:///Media/1,jar or file:///Media/Other%20files/1,­jar

@TheWraith works for me on 2 different toccos, new one has 256mb onboard phone & one of the old ones that had 64mb onboard, have you got show file extentions on in windows before renaming jar.

main error people have with this concept is they end up with a file called 1.jar.jar kinda thing instead of just 1.jar

see theirs no reason why it wont work because thats essentialy how the games are installed when you actualy buy them, only difference is the sites delete the jar after install

just look for what i said and their will be forums explaining how to use the Flash program (the one you already used) to re-install "just" the Bootloader into the phone

then personaly ide google this S5230XPJK1

and flash the phone with it & use the browser to install games (thats an official firmware release, unlocked & one of the latest releases)

They use the term "Unbrick" meaning your phone is now like a brick good enough to be thrown away, so you have to Unbrick. All the best.

For all those that are having problems with 'Port Search' not finding the connection it means you are missing the phone drivers. Go to the Samsung website and download Samsung PC Studio and install it, then it should work for you :)
