The episode you really get to see the Andromeda finally open up and really kick ass and take punishment is the series finale, The Heart of The Journey part 2, where they single-handedly take on several Nietzschean fleets...it's pretty good, AND you can watch it here on youtube.

That same uploader has the entire series available. The videos are unlisted, but you can get to them all from that link. You're welcome!
I always liked this show because it was a great Sci-Fi premise: Trapped in time at the eve of the fall of the greatest civilization ever known, then waking up 300 years later, in a universe with no civilization or law....and you now possess the most advanced and powerful starship in the Universe.
It is very similar to the premise of the Doctor Who universe: From a Time Lord perspective the TARDIS is an ancient relic, but to the rest of the Universe, the most powerful and advanced in existence.
@randomrazr They've got nano bots which patch up the hull using a certain element/metal from asteroids or debris from ships that they've just destroyed.
@randomrazr The "blades" you see coming out from the sweeping struts in some of the shots that surround the ship have small strands of mesh between them that cause most weapons to break up when passing through, greatly diminishing the effect of incoming weaponry. Closest thing to shields in this universe.
@Jafamala0:47 is the finale of season 2 / premier of season 3, 1:25 is the finale of season 4. and 0:58 is the finale of season 5, the last show that was aired.
@Jafamala0:47 is from "The Tunnel at the End of The Light" and "If The Wheel Is Fixed. 1:25 is from "The Dissonant Interval Part II". And 0:58 is from "The Heart of The Journey Part II". :)

@randomrazr no, in this show the ships weren't equipped with shields or force fields, just a lot of armour plating

@randomrazr if andromeda had shields magog swarms ships wouldn't have been able to perforate the hull
